LvivLovers got a reaction from AmyWrites in how have your RUB wifes changed if any since coming here
Howdy fellas...long time no see...just had that random urge to do a drive-by of the RUB. Good to see some familiar faces! How have you all been?! Anyone stirred up the other forums lately? That used to get me through some long days...highly entertaining stuff. Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Hanukkah, Festivus, etc.to all of you.

LvivLovers got a reaction from Dustin C in 1st rule: You do not talk about baby (until born).
Yep...we've officially cranked out baby number 2, an 8 lb 14 oz girl. I've got one of each now and thank God, they both look more like her than me!
Anyway, long story short, the doctor told us the baby had not descended very far so I was mentally bracing for a long day. Ah...but this is a Ukrainian woman...
My wife almost shot the baby out on the very first push and the doctor had to tell her to stop because she wasn't ready yet. After the doc finally got into her catcher's gear and lined up on the plate, it was over in about 20 seconds.
All is well and we're back at home reminiscing about how we used to sleep.
I'll have to stop back in and see what everyone is up to when I get more time (probably in about 18 years eh?). Hope all the RUB regulars are doing well.

Been a while since I've checked in on the good ole RUB forums, but thought I'd stop by and share another VJ milestone. My MIL arrived a couple weeks ago along with her dog. She's acclimated very well so far...she's got a gym membership, has started some ESL classes, and is already drinking diet cokes (with ICE no less!!!) and eating all sorts of American food. Our baby is already quite attached to her and my wife is ecstatic to have her around again! Life is good! Hope everyone here on the RUB forum is also doing well...I'm sure there's a lot of new faces here by now, but hopefully some of the old-timers are still here also.

Now THIS is the kind of thread I come to the RUB for! Sorry it turned out this way, Donnie. But look at it this way, you dodged a bullet, pal! This girl is trouble. Luckily, you have found that out BEFORE you got married or had kids with her. Look at it this way though...you got to have some fun with her and didn't pay for it nearly as bad as some folks do. You've also done a few things exceptionally well: a) recognized this is not what you want and decided to move on b) gotten right back on the horse to go look for the right one c) found your way to the awesome RUB forum where our vast bevy of resident love experts will get you on the right track. So, sorry about the bad luck on this fish, hope the next one is worth hanging on the wall, and thank you so much for sharing your suffering so that we have something fun to read.

Oh I've thought about it! My college buddies used to notice a similar phenomena...no women were interested while they were single, but soon as they found a girlfriend it seemed like they were all over them. Some might speculate that they projected more confidence or something like that...but some of us know that it's really because all women share some sort of evil communications network where they conspire together to mess with us men.

I'll accept that as well! Heck we are about halfway there already and things have not dulled down at all. And ditto...my wife is definitely my best friend as well...we do almost everything together...hell she even went to a Megadeth concert with me (and loved it!!!). We do our own things at times too, but even then, if we are doing different things I just love being in the same room with her. We'll definitely make it to 10,15,20,25, etc.
For the record, my parents have been married more than 50 years at this point...I think a lot of it has to do with values and whether you are a giver or a taker, thinking mostly about yourself or your spouse, selfish or giving. That and a big part of it is just how committed are you...you can decide that you will make a marriage work.

Nice! Yeah I honestly had planned to take things nice and slow. It didn't end up working out that way though. We also had an immediate connection and wanted to meet ASAP to see if it was the same face to face as it was over the phone. Nothing would be worse than spending months and months communicating only to find out you had wasted your time. I had not plans for marriage or anything like that. It was only about 6 weeks after we found each other that I was on my way over...we were engaged 5 days later and married about a month after that! Originally we had planned to do DCF (even had an interview scheduled for it), but they changed the law on DCF that month and we ended up having to go K3 instead. It's been a whirlwind but it's been fantastic. I never thought I'd have such a fantastic wife or be so happy. I must give thanks to those original scammers that started the ball rolling.

That's exactly the thing. Poor countries will actually do much better...they are more used to doing things for themselves. Half the people here will probably spend several days trying to figure out why they can't get their mobile phones, etc. to work. No self-reliance.
I'm not picky...as long as I can point it at something and shoot it, I'm happy!

    No. Yes. Yes. Possibly.
As someone who has been involved in the financial markets for many years, I can see what's coming. The world economy is a house of cards and there's a hurricane approaching. I don't know exactly how it will unfold but I'm confident things are going to happen that most Americans never imagined could happen here. If things really break down and people get desperate, they are going to resort to whatever they have to do. In my opinion, It doesn't take much for people to revert to being animals. Look how little excuse people need to start rioting. So yes, once the inner cities are thoroughly looted, I wouldn't be too surprised to see them heading further out. We already get a few robberies and home invasions occasionally out where I live in nice neighborhoods.
Maybe I will be over-prepared. I'll admit, I've never taken a loan out on cars, house, or anything else....I save up and pay cash. I've always maxed out contributions to retirement plans and done tax planning to minimize taxes as well. So I guess I do like to plan and be prepared. If we end up not needing our supplies (I still can't see what miraculous turn of events would prevent our financial collapse), I would be very happily surprised. The problem is though, if you do end up needing supplies, chances are you won't be able to get them once things go south. First it will get very expensive...then it will get impossible. So joke around about tin foil hats if you want and take your chances if you want, but I'm sure as hell not.

Yeah it's just human nature...I don't see it ever fully going away unless we are replaced by robots at some point. Maybe they would discriminate too though...probably would be an Apple looking down on a PC.
I *do* think people should speak English in America if they are citizens or permanent residents! Just as I would expect to speak another language if I was in some other country. Otherwise you have a Tower of Babel chaose.
I think they ARE often bitches just like I think many powerful men are a holes! I don't really see it as being about power as much as about attitudes. There are people that handle power gracefully and people that are dicks about it. Usually it's the latter.
I don't read any so can't comment too much here. But I think you just have to let nature takes its course. If it's a "black" magazine I'd expect to see more...if it's for white people, you're going to have to cater more to their tastes. I mean you can't really tell someone to have a different idea of beauty...it either does it for you or it doesn't.
Have to strongly disagree here. Maybe that's how the liberal media portrays it. I'm a Tea Partier and I just want less government and less spending. I'd love to have more equality, but you can't do more than you can afford. I'm not a fan of redistributing wealth...socialism only works until you run out of other people's money. I'm not a fan of Robin Hood either. Maybe you can argue they are an unwitting tool? But then so is every other group in the world...again...it's human nature to try to use anything and everything to pursue one's goals.
I would love to see the corruption in BOTH parties dealt with. But that's why I liked Cain...in proposing a simple tax plan there is less room for politicians to bury special favors to their donors/cronies in the tax code (it's about 70,000 pages currently!). Hard to manipulate simplicity. I think from that perspective, Cain is actually more of a threat to hegemony than anyone else and one of the reasons I think so many have continued to try to dismiss him even though he's a strong front runner.

    Interesting thread.
Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents on the Tea Party since I identify myself with them...NONE of the many Tea Party people I have known are racist. They are simply people who are tired of big government and don't like the direction the country is headed. I, in fact, just donated to Herman Cain a couple days ago and he's quite a bit "blacker" than Obama. My father is doing the same. Race has nothing to do with it. In any large group there are going to be a few bad apples...I've never personally seen one at a Tea Party gathering, but I'm sure they exist somewhere since the liberal media always manages to find one or two to highlight.
As far as birthers...I'll admit, that I too wanted to see Obama's birth certificate. It wasn't because he is half-black though...it's because I don't trust him (or any other politician) and his behavior was more than a little suspicious. That and the fact that he's a worse president than even Jimmy Carter and it was obvious to me from the get-go he was going to make a sh*tty situation even worse. To be honest, I was surprised to find out that EVERY President was not more thoroughly vetted with proof that they meet all requirements to be President available to all citizens. So yeah...I didn't see what the problem was in getting carded so we didn't just have to take his word for it.
In other thread-hijacking news, I just bought some guns and have been having a blast going to the shooting range with my wife...Tuesday ladies shoot free!!! Just out of curiosity, do all of you RUB folk realize that our standard of living is about to go into the crapper along with a collapse in the the U.S. dollar or is that just me? If not, consider this your wake-up call.

A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money.
The first does a total make over. She goes to a fancy beauty salon gets her hair done, new make up and buys several new outfits and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more a attractive for him because she loves him so much.
    The man was impressed.
The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts. She gets him a new set of golf clubs, some new gizmos for his computer, and some expensive clothes. As she presents these gifts, she tells him that she has spent all the money on him because she loves him so much.
    Again, the man is impressed.
The third invests the money in the stock market. She earns several times the $5,000. She gives him back his $5,000 and reinvests the remainder in a joint account. She tells him that she wants to save for their future because she loves him so much.
    Obviously, the man was impressed.
The man thought for a long time about what each woman had done with the money he'd given her.
Then, he married the one with the biggest boobs.
