@Savva that is wonderful news. That was quick!! What date did you file?!

Raleigh, NC filer here. I didn’t see a June 2021 Forum so started one! N400 will be sent off by my Immigration lawyer on 6/14. I am extremely excited. Wishing everyone a speedy and smooth naturalization process. 🇺🇸

Hi everyone, I meant to update sooner but my new job has been crazy. I attended my AOS Interview on Aug 8. It lasted no more than 15 mins. Interviewing officer asked just basic questions. Where we met, when we started dating, etc. Questions we were prepared for by our lawyer. They do not ever tell you if you're approved, and we didn't ask. We just said thank you when the interview was over, and left.
Less than an hour later, I got a case status update-
Case approved
Card in production
Right now we're awaiting the GC in the mail. We were nervous the days leading up to the interview, but really if you have nothing to hide, and your intentions are pure, everything will be fine.

Social Security card came in the mail today. Thought I had to go to the SS office with my EAD on Monday to apply for one, but I guess not.

Have you or anybody here heard anything about contacting congressman after an interview?
I was thinking of getting an info pass in a week or so if I haven't heard anything but maybe I could contact my congressman instead?
I highly recommend congressman instead, for the same reason my lawyer gave. Congressman is way higher up the food chain than an Immigration Officer within USCIS. It will be more effective to go through Congressman.

Did get an appointment in InfoPass as well?
no. I heard Infopass is pretty useless so I went the congressman route.

EAD card received!!! (After successful expedite request through Congressman. Took a total of 14 calendar days from expedite request to delivery).
I start working next Wednesday.
Up next: Green card Interview Aug 8. Will definitely keep you guys updated.
Keep the faith! We're all getting there slowly but surely.

YEAH me too! LOL. Hang in there. It's always a waiting game with immigration!
I don't think you both should worry at all. The USCIS website stated the processing time for my office as 11 months, but my case was ready to schedule for interview April 17, and i got actual interview notice July 9. I honestly think they just put that to lower expectations.

Didn’t you say a day after you contacted the congrassman, you had an interview for your GC?
What papers did you hand in to expedite? Do i need to contact my Congress man?
yes, everything is coming all at once.
I stated in my previous post last week that I used documents to prove financial hardship: late notices, maxed credit card statements etc

Guys my EAD was successfully expedited. Just got the update that my card is in production.
I got a job offer yesterday, but things were so hard financially that I decided to request an expedite last week based on financial hardship alone. I scanned all overdue bills on one document along with privacy release form from congressman and requested the expedite last week Friday. Please, it is WORTH A TRY. DO NOT WAIT FOR OFFER LETTER, Show them that you are struggling and write a heartfelt letter explaining your circumstance if its dire.
Fellow March filers- our time is coming and things are looking up.

Thanks
I will try to contact you congressman, and see what they say.
Please keep us updated in your case
make sure they give you this form. This is the new privacy release form. Using the old form will cause asks to send it back and add days to your case

Hey guys,
I got a job offer and I was thinking about expedite my EAD.
Do I need to proof financial hardship?
Is it worth to expedite or it might delay my EAD if it is denied?
Thanks
you should use the help of your congressman, provide them with job offer and show financial hardship if you can, and expedite.
There is no wrong answer. Worse case scenario is you are denied the expedite and return to your place in queue prior to your request to expedite.
I put in EAD expedite based on financial hardship last Friday. Will update as soon as I get any word.

oh, also a heads up to those planning to expedite- Regardless of your Congressman, this is the new universal Privacy Release form that I've attached.
I was told by the Congressman's office that if the old form is sent to USCIS, they send back the new form for you to fill out and return, which adds DAYS to your request for expedite- a luxury many of us cannot afford.
Please make sure they give you the correct form.

Hi It's been 115 days I filed, still it shows Ready to be scheduled for interview. Should I wait until 120 days to reach out to congressmen or can I go ahead?
Also I was on H1B for past 6 years, and now i dont have a status except Pending i485, still can i ask for expediting with financial loss documents?when I asked my lawyer he said I don't have a basis for expediting.
He is not sure about my field office too.
Totally frustrated, applied for loan and they gave only half of what I expected though I have excellent credit score.
Badly need job asap.
How to find my field office and reach out to Congress men?
Any help would be truly appreciated
I was just about to say your lawyer sounds like an idiot. Use the link below and search for your congressional representative.
https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members
Contact them via phone or their website and they will give you all the help you need. Just tell them you need help with your present immigration situation. Produce all the documentation to support financial loss. Late payments notices, overdue credit card, job loss/termination letter. Whatever you can because the burden of proof is on you but you can do it.

Wow! That’s great! Congratulations!
when is your interview ? How did you contact your Congressman ?
Googled who my Congressman was and went on the website. Then spoke to a member of staff about my issue. They sent me a privacy release form and asked me to provide proof of either financial hardship or job offer whichever comes first. I did just that. I don’t know when my interview is. Seems like the letter should arrive soon with those specifics.

Just got my email that my interview for Permanent Residency was scheduled guys. I find it really strange that that happened one day after I contacted my Congressman, who knows. Keep the faith. March filers are getting there little by little.

I say this as respectfully as possible, but with a master's degree you still haven't found anything?
I only have an undergrad (and it's in English and Spanish....lol) and I will have to start looking soon, and now I'm afraid I won't find anything either!!!
Na don’t say that, you’ll be fine. Have faith. I like to believe what’s for me is for me, and the right job will come.

I apply for every job I qualify for on Indeed thats in my City. I have a Bachelors, a Masters and other certification, so I apply for every job I see on Indeed that closely aligns with my qualifications and experience.

I thought most companies won’t hire you if you can’t work legally... Very sad, we are having a tough time too !! Very ridiculous
I've had 9 interviews so far. Started applying for jobs in April. It's all about how you phrase your situation at the interview and you emphatically state that you do not require sponsorship, and you're "waiting for your EAD which should arrive soon."
N-400 June 2021 Filers
in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
Raleigh NC- June 2021 Filer
Friends,
I became a US citizen yesterday. Naturalized through marriage and 3 year rule
I’ve included my timeline as well:
June 18 Filed and biometric reuse
July 3: Case is being actively reviewed
November 9: we scheduled your interview
December 8: Interview
Interview went well and I had a same day oath ceremony.
Civics Questions:
Name one of my state’s senators
Name one of the longest rivers
What ocean is on the west coast
Name one Native American tribe in US
Name one branch of government
Name the highest court in the Land
Sentence I had to read was “who can vote in a federal election”
I had to write “citizens can vote”
Everyone keep the faith. I know that’s so hard to hear especially for those of you who are still waiting. That has to be very frustrating. Please know we’re all in this together and the time is going to come. I know I will be able to call all of you “fellow Americans” very soon.
