My husband got his before his adjustment of status of interview, they sent the work authorization and the social days apart. As much as you probably don't want to deal with the social security office, its probably your next step. Good Luck with everything

Ok, that makes sense. Yes that’s right, with green card you don’t need the work authorization. Thank you for responding, I feel a lot better now with our situation.

Yes, can file jointly or seperately, but yes file as married.
As for the HR department, depends what you want with it. For us, we both left our tax rate as single status so we collect biggest return in the end at tax time when we file married jointly., but that is totally up to you how you want it to go.

The biometrics case number is the same for I-485, the next you’ll get is a hard copy of those receipt which is the form I-797 notice of action.
