  1. Hey Guys,

I hope everyone is doing ok.

So I applied for AOS in January and I have been lucky enough to receive my greencard through on Monday. I was just wandering if anyone knows what the next steps are (if any) in terms of paperwork/SSN etc. If noone in here has received theirs yet or doesn't know, could you point me towards the relevant forum? I would appreciate it!!

Good luck to everyone still waiting!! I hope those cards start shipping out for everyone soon!!

    1. As far as i understand this it THE interview.

    2. Even if it says "unless already submitted", have it in hand as well just in case officer "lost" it. It's not a must, but i'd advise to have them just in case. Better safe than sorry.

    3. That interview isn't for a EAD, it's for Green Card. I'd say if no question marks and all goes well, and decision is to approve, as usual less than a month, around 2 weeks.

    4. Be confident. Believe in what you're saying. Do not lie, but don't say more than asked. Have something to prove that you guys live together, bank statement, Joint tax return, etc. And the usual stuff, polite, ask officer how is his day going, natural conversation things that you'd do with any human being. Dress business casual as for a job interview, whole suit is not necessary, just look clean and professional.

That is all to my knowledge. What does it specifically say on the letter? Which petition/application is it for? I-485?

    Best of Luck!

Thank you so much!! That is all really helpful!!

If we don't have a joint bank account, do you think my bank statement and my name on the HOA be enough to prove that we live together?

  3. Hi guys, I applied for my AOS in January. Completed my biometrics in February and now I have an “initial” appointment on Monday.

    Just a couple questions...

    1. Does “initial” interview mean that there are more interviews to come after this one?

    2. Reading what I should bring it seems like they have a lot of it and it does say “(unless already submitted)” so if I have already sent those things in am I supposed to bring them again?

    3. How long typically does it take to receive EAD/GC after the interview?

    4. Any other tips or advice for the interview?

Any help would be appreciated as I am unfamiliar with this portion of the timeline etc. and I’m feeling a little lost lol

  4. Just received my passport back a couple of hours ago.

Something worth noting is that you don't have to personally be at home to receive it,. I messaged DX customer service as I had to pop out to the store and the delivery hadn't arrived yet, they told me that as long as I left my ID with someone in the house to show it to the courier when it arrived it would be fine.

It's a good job I did cos I was only gone for 30minutes but of course that's when they came...my mum had no problems receiving the delivery for me with my ID.

I fly out on Wednesday and then we get to start a whole other process but at least we will be together!!

Hello guys! I have a question thats really getting to me at this point and i need to know what everyone else did. So the ceac website says "your case is ready for your interview when scheduledn if you have already scheduled please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter" so im assuming our application has arrived at the london embassy-  but we have not recieved any type of letter from the embassy and that message was updated from dec 3rd. Did you guys wait for an letter before scheduling the interview?! Even our lawyer is telling us to wait 2-3 weeks for a letter - but i cannot stand the waiting now! We have everything ready and i dont understand what were waiting for ! Please help

I emailed the NVC for my case number and then once I had that, I booked my medical and my appointment online.

Do you have your case number yet? It should start with LND I think. If you have that, you an go ahead and book your medical and interview, you don't have to wait necessarily but its up to you.

I'd personally cancel until I have at least a delivery date.

Seems london really slows down this time of the year for visas, same day as me and I've heard practically nothing.

my status moved to issued yesterday so just waiting to receive info from the courier...hopefully by tomorrow! Any movement on yours?

  7. So I had my interview November 26th and I was approved. I was old 7-10days (I laugh now haha) so I stupidly booked a flight for December 13th as I thought over 2 weeks would be "more than enough time" (again...now I laugh).

So today if the 11th of December and I am in second AP. I have had no movement since 4th December and no emails etc. so I think its safe to say that I will have to change my flight.

The only thing is there is a rebooking fee to change so at this point I'm wondering what the best thing to do is.

    Do I?

    a) call, pay the rebooking fee and rebook for a date 10 days from now and hope that my visa come before then?

    b) cancel the flight and just wait till I actually have the visa to book again?

If anyone has any advice or recommendations I would really appreciate it.

Kinda going a little stir crazy here from the uncertainty and the waiting (yet again!) It just doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason for the disparity in wait times after approval!!

Go to ceac.state.gov. When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".

So I just had a look and it is now shown as a Non-Immigrant Visa Application and is in Administrative Processing. You have literally just made my day!! Thank you (again!) for all of the info. Really helpful!

Just an update.....the interview was on the 13th at London embassy. We were approved the same day and as of this morning, en route to Scotland. Pick up will be Monday. London works fast. I was initially worried the holidays would slow then down but not the case. BTW, ceac states ISSUED and it skipped AP. Sending ya'll some positive vibes

where do you go to find out the status of your visa issuance? I know its only been a day but just wanted to know lol

  10. Hey everyone,

Just have a quick question regarding the flu vaccine.

I had my medical and she said all I would need was the flu vaccine. As I was clearly not thinking straight,  I opted to get it elsewhere, thinking that it would be relatively simple...that doesn't seem to be the case haha.
Getting the flu shot IS simple, however finding somewhere to provide me with PROOF that I have been given it is the troublesome part.

I assumed I could just go to my GP but my GP receptionist said that they don't give it to patients unless they qualify for the free one under the NHS. She suggested Boots or another pharmacy.

Boots said that they can provide me with a receipt, but I'm just not sure if that is enough.

Has anyone had the same issue, or is the receipt fine and acceptable as proof? Does anyone have any advice on where to go?

I am struggling to find answers in other forums so if anyone has an answer or can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it!

    thanks in advance!

We just booked our medical and interview for K1 In London and just wanted to pass on some info.  The Medical is pretty open. They wanted my fiance to come down Monday to have it done. Probably won't be hard to get an appointment there.

Our Interview was booked for Nov. 19th. The 1st available was Nov 11th.

Just wanted to let people know how long the wait was for these!

How did you get a hold of them? What number are you dialing?

Everytime I call it just rings and rings... Yesterday it just rang for like 40 minutes!

Is there a website to go on or something?

Congrats on getting your did booked though! One step closer!
