Thank you!! Also another question, slightly off topic but it’s in my AOS packet. You may be able to help...for my I-131 it asks you to tick your application type. I have selected ‘I am applying for advance parole document to allow me to return to the United States after temporary foreign travel’ is this correct? And is it correct you have to attach a piece of paper describing how you qualify for an advanced parole document and what circumstances warrant it, even though I have already wrote down on another question why I want to leave the US and when it will be?

    Good morning,

    - Your answer is correct (1.d, part 2; form 131);

    - Yes, you can add additional page with explanation (I haven’t done that, just wrote short explanation/ answer part 4).

I’m going to be a March AOS filer from Maine 🙂 but was just wondering if anyone could help me with something. On the form I-485 Q10. It asks if your current spouse is applying with you? And a yes or no box. I presume it’s a no as I am filing for the green card myself but just thought it was an odd question as we are both obviously in it together. I’m massively overthinking every question and would just  like some confirmation! Thanksssss

Hi! You're right with your suggestion - the answer is "no" 😄 (your husband is USC; there is no need for him to apply with you (it's the logic behind the answer)).

I think it's better to re-check everything 1000 times than find a mistake later when the package is sent 😊

Hi all. I'm not a January filer, getting ready to file any day now, however I am trying to time my application right. I will be out of town from March 5 to March 13, so I'm trying to plan mailing the AOS package in a way that doesn't schedule the biometrics during that period. I'm curious to see those of you who filed late in January what appointment dates did you get for your biometrics?

Hi, my NOA1 date — Jan 10, biometric appointment was scheduled for Jan 29.

I received text 3 messages / emails on Jan 12 at 12:30 am; letters with NOA1 on Jan 18 and biometric appointment letter on Jan 19.

Thanks and I remember you too! Hope all is well with you! This is advice is great. I’ve copied and pasted it all to keep for next month. I keep seeing the DS-3025 mentioned. How do you get this? He didn’t receive anything after the medical except a CD.

He should ask a doctor to give him a copy of this form (I asked the doctor during my medical exam and received this form + CD disk).

Hi my fiancé will be here Feb 3rd (finally...filed feb 2018!) so just trying to get organized. Since you’ve submitted all the paperwork recently, any tips you can share? My fiancé was not able to get a flu shot in Germany (they did not have any). Think that will cause any problems? Thanks!

Hi! I remember you from the Feb 2018 group 😃
About tips - I think I'll repeat everything what was written here.
    1.    Don’t forget to include a correct filling fee ($1140.00 filing fee + $85.00 biometric fee);
    2.    Don’t forget to write a cover letter for your petitions and include supporting documents for all of them. I mean, that you have to include supporting documents to Packet for I-765 Application for Employment and Packet for I-131 Application too (like passport style photos – 2, copy of your passport (biographical page); copy of K1 Visa in passport and entry stamp; copy of Electronic Form I-94 etc.) not only supporting docs for I-485.
    3.    How to send your passport style photos – you can put them in Ziploc bag and staple it to a sheet of paper. Don’t forget to write your fiancé’s name and A#.
    4.    About flu shot – it shouldn’t be a problem if his DS-3025 Vaccination supplement says that it’s completed; if no – he can get the shot in States.

    5. Double check everything before submitting.

My fiancee chose to have her passport and package sent to one of optional locations that were given to her when she filled out the DS-160 rather than to have it sent to a personal address. In this case it was a location in the Kyiv. A business center in the Forum Plaza to be exact.

We both felt it to be too risky to send everything to a personal address so opted to go that route.

She picked her passport and package up yesterday (10/24). The interview was last Thursday (10/18) so it took 6 days from the interview to pick up.

The CEAC Status tracker is a good resource. Once the interview is complete it should change from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing". This happens either the same day or the day after the interview. It will then change to "Issued" a few days later. I suspect when it does that means they have mailed out everything.

You will also get an email from them around the same time that the CEAC Tracker changes to "Issued" notifying you that your package has been mailed out (contains mailing address that you chose or optional location) along with a tracking number.

So in summary, if you chose to pick it up at a location you can expect to get it within about 6-7 days of your interview. Not entirely sure how long it takes if you had it sent to your home or other personal address but I imagine it would take around the same time or a little longer.

    Hope that helps!

    Congrats on the approval!

Thank you for sharing! I chose the same - I will pick up my passport from the TNT office (Forum Plaza). I can't wait to get my passport back :)

  7. @AlekezamHi! Could you please share your experience: when did your fiancee receive her passport back with visa? How many days did it take?

What kind of delivery option did she choose: pick up or delivery to the address? And the last question - it was delivered to Kiev' address or to region city?

Just want to understand when should I expect my passport back :)

Thank you in advance for your help 😀

One of the people I know told me that they got the original petition send back to them.

She forgot who they sent it to because it was several months ago.

    Does anyone know about that?

Hi, my fiancé and I received email (email was to petitioner, I was in CC) from the Embassy with Packet 4. The original Petition (scanned copy) was attached to the email.

  9. @Alekezam thank you very much for the information.

We have several reasons to rush with the interview date (I don't want to name them because everyone will say that it was too risky and stupid to make any plans).

We have just received email from Kiev Embassy with Packet 4.

I will be able to re-schedule my interview only tomorrow (my account is locked for 24h) and the worst thing that there are not free time slots for this week or for the beginning of the next week 😓. I'm praying for a miracle that someone would re-schedule the interview and I will be able to set up mine for Thursday 🙏

  10. Hi All,

Thank you for finding time to read my post.

My question is when should we expect a notification from Kiev Embassy that they have received a paper file of our case and we could set up an appointment for the interview (Packet 4)?

Our case left NVC on Oct 16th, case’ status was changed to “ready” on Oct 18th. I checked DHL web site and found out that packages were delivered to the Embassy on Oct 19th.

I went ahead and set up appointment for the interview on Oct 23rd. We haven’t received a notification from the Embassy that they have already received to case. I decided to sent an inquire to them and ask about the case. They answered immediately that they had received file electronically and we would

be notified when they would receive a paper file. They said the interview was canceled and I would be able to re-schedule it without paying fee again.

Could you please share your experience: who did receive the packet 4 (beneficiary or petitioner)? In how many days after the case’ status was changed to “ready” you had received packet 4 from the Embassy?

Does anyone have experience with re-scheduling the interview? When the receipt will be unlocked? I was told it would be in 24h after your cancellation, is it

true or will it take longer?

P.S.: Maybe everyone knows that but I just want to give you an advice - please don’t set up the interview date if you haven’t received a packet 4. The embassy won’t be able to conduct interview with you if they don’t have your paper file (petition).

Thank for reading my loooooong post!

I'd like to know when you get the email with the case number. Curious if a day or so difference between your phone call and the actual email is going to be that much of a difference in the speed in which you move your visa forward.

My fiancé received email on Oct 2nt, I received email on Oct 3rd. (it was told that they haven't received our petition from USCIS and it would take up to 6 weeks).

He called yesterday (on Oct 4th) and we received case #.

  12. I have a question: when my fiancé called to NVC they gave him information about our case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID #.

I have already filled in ds-160, but there were no questions about beneficiary ID or invoice #. Where I will use this information (especially beneficiary ID)?

If I understand right, I will use receipt # (after it was paid) to schedule my interview, soI'm confused a little bit about this beneficiary ID 😅

    Hey!

my fiancé in America rang up on Tuesday around 5pm and was on hold for around ten mins. They gave her the case number straight away and that was it.

I looked on on the website and it said at NVC and then I emailed them telling them my email. Not heard anything since but I only did that this morning so not been a long while.

Thank you for sharing! It helps a lot!

we decided to call after I read your message and we found out that NVC received our case and they assigned a new number 👍🏻

  14. We received our case number!

    NOA2 - 09/20

    NVC - 04/10

Guys, you should call NVC even if you received email from them that they haven’t received your case yet!

I and my fiancé received emails from NVC that they haven’t received our case yet and it would take up to 6 weeks but my fiancé just called them and was told that we had even case number assigned! 😄

Nice!! We have the same NOA2 date! Although I received an email from them that they haven't received our case.

Does anyone know if this also confirms that they have our email and they will update us once they have our case?

We have also received emails that they haven’t received our case on Oct 2nd. Our NOA2 date - Sept 20.

Do you think it makes sense to call them if we received such email? Or no? 🙄
