I am planning to file a K1 for my fiance but have a few questions. This seemed like the best place to ask it. The K1 will be sent to the Sydney embassy.

    1. My fiance had her named changed, does she need the fingerprint check or just the name check?

    2. She has had a past conviction for shoplifting when she was 17. Conviction was for youth/child and not on her adult record. This was well over 10 years ago, she is 32 years old now. Will this give us many issues in getting the K1?

    3. She obtained a visa by the visa waiver program.. however she did not mention she had this past conviction on the VWP. Mistakes where made and she totally forgot she was convicted all those years ago. Will this give us some serious issues for the K1?

Others answered in relation to the conviction, but regarding #1, an AFP name check without fingerprints will be fine, but must list all names by which she has ever been known, and select the option for full disclosure (code 33 -- immigration/citizenship).

  2. Hi All,

I hadn't seen any posts with recent information, but after calling both Dr Celina Rappaport and Dr Rosemary Aldous, they both charge exactly the same fees.

Adults are $520 including the x-ray and pathology, and children who are young enough to not need x-ray/pathology are $379.50 each.

For Dr Aldus, you should email usvisas@ocnlst.com.au to request an appointment with the following information:

    • Name of all applicants needing medicals.
    • Type of visa.
    • NVC case number.
    • Mobile phone number.
    • Date of interview.

    Hope that helps!

Oh same!! I got CC on 26 June and just got the IL overnight, interview is 16 August! Happy days!! They must be taking a lot longer to schedule them now. My FIL and SIL both had their interview dates within two weeks of their CC, back in May.

    Congratulations!!!

Status Online: Request for Additional Evidence was Mailed

Have any of you encountered this? We haven't received the mail yet so I'm curious what are the additional documents that we need. I'm worried!😥 Can anyone who also got an RFE share their experience?

I got the same thing, with a PD of 14 May... still waiting for the letter to arrive.  I can't imagine what it is for, and why they couldn't have discovered whatever was missing in the last 300+ days.
