  1. I'd add:

    Additional life insurance policies listing each other as the beneficiary;

    Joint bank account (savings/checking) statements;

Anything that has both of your names on them (postcards, gym membership, event invitation...)

Communication records between you two (emails, phone calls, text messages)

Receipts for gifts you bought each other (which can also come with photos of the actual gifts and the two of you)

  2. USCIS doesn't have the authority to arrest anyone. ICE does but they don't show up at a naturalization ceremony/process. If you really worry about your application, consult with a lawyer even if you're not going to hire him/her to help with your entire application process. And be honest with USCIS officers when they ask about that in the interview.

In addition, they probably will ask about your previous marriage depending on how recent that is. Be prepared to show previous proof that it is a bona fide marriage.

    Good luck!

  3. To answer your questions, your referral number looks alright. It's connected with your previous receipt number.

I think you can go to school. You will just be considered as an international student until you get your residency.

And your EAD should arrive in 4-6 months without expedition requests from your Priority Date/File Date. With an expedition request, it really depends on the office which is processing your case.

You can check out my timeline at my own post. But in short, my original PD is 4/2, I-765 PD is 5/2, I filed expedition request 5/25, and my case updated to "new card is being produced" 6/25. Since you filed the request 6/22/2018, you should receive an update in the online case tracker under your I765 case number before June 30th (They have up to 5 working days to process your request before you should call them again to check).

  4. Update 6/25/2018

I received a notice saying my expedite request is under review on 6/24/2018, and then this morning, my card is being produced!

I'm just a bit like whatever since they haven't approved my I-131 yet. But I'm not in a hurry to travel back home so I'll just wait.

I'm guessing in a week or two I should get my card and I can finally get back to work!

Meanwhile my case is still showing "ready to be scheduled interview" (it has been like this since 5/21), and I-131 has not been approved yet.

But I'm so happy now. I'm literally crying.

    Hey all,

I filed EAD expedite request on May 25th, online status updated to an expedite request was completed and sent a response on May 30th. I received the letter requesting for evidence on June 8th, and faxed everything on June 12th. Now today, I received the same updates again saying my expedite request was completed and a response was sent.

I'm wondering whether this is USCIS rejecting, approving or requesting for more evidence???

    Anyone experienced anything like this?

My EAD card is being produced!!! The case updated online today!!!

What exactly were you asked to send when they asked for evidence? And what did you send (I assume job offer, anything else?) @Ksenia_O had her status go into approved within three days of her faxing the evidence, and got her EAD within ten days.

They asked for termination letter. So I faxed termination letters and documents together with termination of my medical insurance coverage. Previously I was on my OPT EAD, which expired on May 21st.

It really depends on what area you're in. It took me exactly 2 weeks to receive even the request for evidence letter regarding my expedite request and another week for them to respond to my faxed evidence. I've seen people getting approved almost immediately after faxing the evidence and I've also seen people waiting for weeks before getting approved. But whatever the case is, all I can do is probably just wait to see what response they've sent me.

You can see my own post to see my journey.

  8. Update 6/19/2018

A week after sending out my evidence, I received the same updates I received on 5/30/2018, which ended up asking for evidence. I'm not sure whether this means they approved, rejected, or asked for more evidence. But let's hope for the best. I think based on some other posts I've read, if it's approved, in a few days it should show new card being produced. If not, then I should either receive a rejection notice or a request for more evidence. But either way, it's good that at least they responded. Wish me luck!!

  9. Hey,

I filed an EAD expedition request on May 25th, received an update online saying a response was sent to you with a referral number on May 30th, received the mail on June 8th requesting for evidence and faxed the evidence out yesterday on June 12th. I have to receive my new EAD before July 21st otherwise my Employer will not rehire me.

Should I contact my Congressman now or should I wait for about a week or two before making further actions??

    Please help!

  10. Update 6/12/2018

As I sit and wait for the fax to be sent out, my nerves don't seem to calm down. After consulting with the attorney, I'm sending out following documents as evidence to expedite my EAD request:

    1. USCIS letter requesting evidence
    2. Biometrics appointment completed receipt+Applicant Information Worksheet
    3. I-765 Notice of Receipt
    4. Employment Separation Notice+Exit Interview Check List
    5. Payroll service Termination Notice
    6. Medical Coverage Ending Notice
    7. Notice of Right to Elect COBRA Coverage
    8. Two email notice notifying Employment termination due to expiring Work Authorization
    9. Explanation regarding the Payroll service company and my actual employer

I'm hoping for the best. Please please please approve my expedite request and let me get my EAD card soon.

  11. Update 6/8/2018

I had been so nervous these days because after my case showed that USCIS has sent a response to me regarding my expedition request (05/30/2018), I didn't receive anything or hear from them until today (6/8/2018). I received a mail asking me to submit evidence for the expedition request, which I'm going to prepare a package of a letter of explaining my situation including the list of proof, termination letter, explanation with chances of being rehired if I can obtain my EAD before July 21st, loss of medical insurance, and my husband's remaining loans.

If anyone recommends any templates for the EAD expedition request evidence submission, please send them my way. And interestingly I gave the office 2 reasons for expedition but they only asked for the evidence of loss of employment.

The expedition request took longer than I thought to process (Call on 5.25, online update 5.30, receive RFE 6.8). I'll mail out the evidence next Monday (6.11), which should arrive at USCIS in 2 days. Hopefully everything goes well after that.

    Wish me luck!

  12. Update 5/31/2018

So my attorney and I filed for EAD expedition via phone calls (5/25/2018) and express mail (5/31/2018). I got a referral number and was told that USCIS should respond within 5 working days but don't check back until 30 days later if nothing was received.

I'm nervous whenever I saw posts on VisaJourney or Facebook group where some cases took forever and the fact that the processing time kept being pushed back.

But I'm hoping to get mails or emails from USCIS to request evidence in the next few days. Fingers crossed!

  13. Update 5/22/2018

The Info Pass appointment was not really helpful and I got a separation letter from my company stating that I was terminated due to my work authorization and as long as I can receive my EAD card in 2 months, they'd rehire me.

I did my 2nd biometrics appointment today (tho it was scheduled May 30th). The supervisor at the field office noticed that my 2nd biometrics appointment didn't have my A number on. She was very nice to email to her USCIS contact person and asked them to correct that mistakes.

And my case finally got updated, stating that it's ready to schedule an interview.

I"m going to call USCIS tomorrow to request for EAD expedition for two reasons: Financial loss and USCIS mistakes.

And if the expedition is not enough, my husband will write to the congressman (who seems to be publicly supporting immigrants).

  14. Update 5/21/2018

So I'm going for the Info Pass Appointment today and since I've received another Bio-metrics appointment (May 30th) for my EAD, I'm going to ask the officer whether I can get my 2nd appointment done before the scheduled one.

In addition, using the separation letter from my current employer, I hope I can request for an expedition.

    Wish me best of luck.

  15. Update 5/15/2018

I finally received the receipt of my  I765 application 5/14, with a notice date 5/7 and a received date 5/2. On the receipt, it has a statement "Please note that if a priority date is printed on this notice, the priority date does not reflect earlier retained priority dates". But since I don't have a priority date listed on the form, I'd assume it either retained my previous priority date (I-485 PD 4/2/2018) or the new priority date (The date they received the RFIE, which is somewhere in May).

My Info Pass Appointment is made on May 21st, hopefully the officer will be able to help with EAD expedition. And if you want to schedule an Info Pass in Los Angeles, you'd better do it early in the morning when they release available slots.

    Hey,

That is what I meant by my post, your F1 OPT is not applicable for renewal, so now you goto the other category and start over which becomes the October timeline. But they seem to be working on expedite cases if you show you have a current job offer and employer ready in your case since its the same employer would just need a new job offer letter or explation letter and then it would work, you would get your EAD probably within 6 weeks vs October in that case.

Search for posts by kvito28 , similar situation to yourself.

Yeah I'll probably try that. Plus USCIS did make mistakes. In need of continuing my employment and USCIS mistakes should qualify me for an expedition.

Thank you! I checked Kvito28's case. Learned a lot from the January filers. My priority date is April 2nd, 2018. I've no clue whether the RFIE I received would affect that but I'll always hope for the best.
