We received our letter within a week of our status changing to 'scheduled' and our interview was about 6 weeks later.

Got our GC in the mail today! Now hubby can finally get an SSN and start living a normal life (though I think he is less excited that he doesn't have an excuse to not look for a job now. lol!) They kept the mystery till the very end with tracking number not being available but I am impressed it got here (GA) in 2 days from Missouri.

Wishing everyone the very best of luck and sending vibes for speedy processing!

Yay!  We got approved on the spot! The officer didn't ask for any evidence other than photo id.  It was pretty straight-forward and he just basically confirmed address, his parents' names, our dates of birth, wedding date, and how we met.  Then he just asked the questions from the I-485 that most people have answered 'no' to (involvement in anti-government groups, organized crime, human trafficking, etc.)

I was surprised to learn that my husband will be eligible to apply for citizenship within 3 years!  He will barely have his 10 yr residence card by then! But good news in any case. Only annoyance is that we will have to wait to get the green card and go to the SSA office to apply for an SSN for him, whereas they would have automatically assigned one if they had processed the EAD (as I understand it.)  So more delay in him being able to work but at least we know we're almost there!

My husband and I went smart casual; button up shirt and nice trousers for him and a summer dress for me.

Curious as to how serious people are dressing for GC interview. Hubs is going in a full suit though I thought a button up shirt & slacks would be fine. I'll be wearing a work (office) dress & flats.

I am hoping we will be too busy celebrating tomorrow evening but will post how the interview goes this weekend. I had 2 job interviews myself earlier this week h another lined up for Friday so it has been a week of interviews! Feast or famine as they say!

Yeah!!! So happy for you guys!
You really deserved this, after all the mess with your birth certificate.
Hope the notification arrives soon in the mail and the interview won't be that far from now.
    Time to celebrate! 🙌

No. It was a paper document & just said it was being produced. It came in about 5 days from changing to 'being produced' by regular letter postage.

We received the letter May 31 and the actual document June 11. It didn't update online until they were actually printing the document (June 5 or 6 I think.) Before that we had the letter of approval but online still said only that it had been received. Hope he gets it in time!

Got hubby's AP document today.  So now he can travel (not that we need to at the moment.) If anyone was wondering they do issue it separate from the EAD, I'm guessing since ours got mysteriously separated from the AOS & AP documents and registered as being received 18 days later.  So I don't know if he will get a combo card since he already as the AP document. I rather wonder if they even bother with the EAD since our interview will likely be within a week or two of when they would get around to approving it.

I guess I just don't get the need for this privacy since we, the petitioners, had to sign off on all of it. No personal information we wouldn't know from signing the forms.

I did think I should have faked his voice. LOL!

Just got notice for our interview - July 11. Nice to be moving forward but still no sign of EAD or AP. Husband will be missing his grandfather's funeral in England. Definitely expected those before now. Receipt date Nov 5 but unluckily sent to National for which lists the longest processing I-765 times & jumped backward from late Oct to mid Sept 😫

Just inexcusable.  Initial research says the K1 is faster but that is no longer the case.  Even on USCIS website the information is not correct. There was a time I would have been more than happy to move to England but now my family really needed me here during the time we would have had to live there for a CR1.

People say we will forget this time of waiting and hardship once approval comes through but I'm not so sure! I think I will remember how awful the waiting & not knowing is for a long time. Hope you get a positive answer soon!

Thanks I will definitely call them tomorrow. Funny that it says 'if you didn't receive a receipt letter by this date ...' when you look up a case # but you don't always know you haven't received one (as in this case).
I also did not think they would approve AP but not EAD so glad this seems to be the general experience. Moving forward in any case!
