We all have our own opinions on this jab they call a vaccine and i myself have requested of my wife and family in the Philippines not to get it until it has gone through its full testing and is totally FDA approved and not under the EUA

How long can they legally hold onto her passport without giving us a specific reason?

We already gave them all of the info they requested.

Yes that’s what I meant by local governments, but thanks for clarifying for others.

So Trump told Mike Pompeo, who told the embassies to do K1s? Thought everyone is blaming him for the K1 interviews not happening. Which is it?

Did you read the proclamation for yourself? There was nothing in the proclamation that mentions non-immigrant visas, such as the fiancé visas. The proclamation was to protect American jobs while the economy recovers, and to prevent those that want to do harm to the US and the economic recovery, from entering. There was nothing said, or implied was directed towards non immigrant visas.

You know that Trump had nothing to do with the Embassies not doing K1 interviews and that it’s all local governments? But let’s try to keep our personal political opinions out of this.

June 2019 for me, with no end in sight for the Nairobi embassy.  I'm reading of others with DQ dates from March that still haven't gotten an interview and my DQ is May.   Pretty dang disheartining.   I'm just hoping that now that they've hit their quota of the DV VISAs that they will start cranking out family VISA at the same rate.    I read somewhere that Sept 30 was the deadline for 2020 DV VISAs,

Comical that they were saying they were working on only mission critical VISAs.   Lottery VISAs (DVs) are not mission critical -- they are charity.

The Nairobi embassy approved over 250 DV  VISAs in September compared to 27 CR1/IR1 VISAs.   Let's see:  The department of state is approving 10 times more VISAs at this station for random immigrates than family members of US Citizens and you are saying the current administration is hard on immigration????   How much more lax do you want it?

Fact is, the issues we are having are 100% due to COVID.

Personally, it rubs me wrong to see this many DV Visas being approved while a bunch of us are waiting months and months longer than normal to be with our family members.   If anything, this shows the current administration is being TOO lax with immigration

Actual information is very helpful.  Yes, I would use the homestay address as your physical address if that is where you ARE when you file the petition.  Otherwise, enter it as a past address.  You can also use a text field on the last page of the I-130 and/or a cover letter to explain this.

    Hi all,

I'm an expat staying overseas in Indonesia with my wife at the moment.

I would like to apply for her spouse visa so she can come to the US with me, but we are not in a big rush at all since we have things to take care of here in Indo before leaving.

So here's my first question. If we want to ENTER the US in August or September 2021 (but definitely NO earlier than that), then what is a good month to start the application process and get the ball rolling?

My second question is, will I run into any hurdles doing the entire visa process while I'm overseas? And are there any new hurdles at the moment due to the pandemic?

    Thanks
