I'm here in Haiti with my fiancé too until he flies out. I work remotely so I am able to work everyday still for my job.
WE WERE APPROVED this morning.
I went with him this morning expecting to wait outside. But, they actually let me in. We had the original NOA2 and because it had my name on it (and I had my passport), they let me in.
We got there at 7:20 for an 8 AM appointment. The appointment times mean nothing. First step, you walk up to the guards and the tourist visa folks stand in one line and the permanent resident applicants stand in other line. It was about 60 people in line when we arrived in the permanent resident line and they were letting people in 8 - 10 at a time. It moved smoothly and we were there for about 25 minutes.
Then, we got in line to speak to one of 2 officers at the window (This was about 90 minutes of waiting). They asked to see the following (I was able to join my fiancé at the window-counter):
Medical
Police Check
Birth Extrait (from National Archive)
DS 160 Confirmation
SogeExpress Visa Receipt
Appointment Confirmation
She also asked to see receipt of Western Union transfers
No questions about our relationship at this stage. The first officer verified the information and then we were told to sit down. We waited an additional 20 minutes and then my fiancé went to the window of a different officer who asked relationship questions. I again went up with my fiancé BUT because she was asking questions about me and our relationship she politely asked me to sit down. I was 5 feet away from him. I heard all the questions. Both people doing this questioning were Kreyol-speaking white women. The questions were:
1. When did you meet? Where and what year?
2. When did you start dating?
3. When is your wedding date?
4. Where are you getting married?
5. Where have you traveled together?
That's all the questions. Then, she had my fiancé raise his right hand and verify the information he gave her was true. Told him he was approved and gave him a blue paper about creating an account and picking up his passport in 2 weeks.

Thank you! I was able to come down and bring the paperwork with me and put it all together myself. Love me some him BUT he's NOT good with details. I'd much rather do it myself. LOL.

THANK YOU JESUS!!! HE GOT APPROVED!!! It was only 2 other people there. Everyone got approved. He said they did not really ask him for nothing. They wanted his police report from Bahamas. He gave it to him. He took his police report from Haiti but they didn't take it. Nothing was translated. I loaded him with stuff to take and they didn't take any of it. They took his passport and passport photos his medical exam his confirmed page for the ds160 and the appointment letter. They asked him am I working. When they figured out what I did they said how did she get this job? They really liked where I worked. He said they consular started fussing at him and saying why have she never been to Haiti? He told him no she has she just left here April 29th. He explained everything we did in Haiti and they said ok. He went it at 7am and he called me at 8:54am

Question: Does the NVC need to say "READY" before you can submit the DS160, pay for the visa and book an interview? Thanks for clarifying! Update: Found it in the forums! (Thank you all). The answer is yes, right? I can do steps 2 and 3 before step 1 says READY.

Do you have your case ID from calling the National Visa Center? If not, go ahead and call them to get the case ID number and fill out the DS-160. Your fiance must digitally sign and submit the DS-160 online but you can fill out the all the answers for him. He must print the DS 160 confirmation and take it into Sogeexpress to pay. From there, they will you give you an access code to be able to go back online and pick an interview time. I picked an inter

I would go back and have them change it. You really want to be absolutely positive its right and through the process, they really do stress that the name has to be consistent throughout.
Question - my fiance came back with his archives nationales paper. His birth certificate had a bar code on top but not his divorce paper. Basically, what he got was the same divorce degree he's had since his divorce was finalized but with some extra language at the top right hand saying it's an extrait. Mind if I DM you a screenshot of what I got (the header)? This is altogether confusing.
So ready for him to leave Haiti behind silly stuff like this that stifles a lot of folks.

Thank you for this info! I spoke to my fiancé and luckily he knows someone who works in the archives nationales building and he said in general cases, it does take a long time to receive the form, but his friend can get it to my fiancé within 3 weeks! Fortunately he got his birth certificate one when he got his passport a few years back. They included that birth certificate archives form with his passport and we didn’t even know the importance of this.
I’m glad I asked because this would’ve been a huge setback so I really appreciate it.

Yes, you print out the sheet with the barcode and go to a sogexpress to pay the fee (in whatever the gourdes conversion that the sheet tells you is - it is an outrageous exchange rate). The fee equivalent to ~265USD is for the visa application/visa/interview. No further fees payable to the US govt until change of status application (still got to pay for documents and medical and what have you).
With the sogexpress receipt number you can log in to ustraveldocs and schedule the appointment.

Packet 3 is basically the embassy telling your fiancee you filed and what next step to take usually it’s suppose to go to the beneficiary address in Haiti but physical mail is not their expertise over there, my fiancee received it 1 day before she need to go to the interview but the best alternative is to request it by email from the embassy of Haiti once NVC send your case over there. It’s been a while but I posted packet 3 in this thread, in the month of march I think. And you should find a template on how to send the email to the embassy somewhere in here too. But you basically need to tell them your case number and email asking them to send it to the email you provide.

Print out your I-94 info > https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html
Follow this guide for getting the SSN > http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn
Follow this guide for AOS > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
The fees are listed here > http://www.uscis.gov/i-485
The fees for the I-765(EAD-work authorization) and I-131(AP-advance parole for travel) are waived when filed with a pending I-485, so include both of those too. It takes about 60-90 days to receive the EAD/AP combo card, which will allow you to work(along with an SSN) and re-enter the US when traveling abroad while waiting for the green card approval.
You need all the supporting documents for each form as well, so read the instructions for each one. You can also search here on VJ for what to include with each form if you get stumped. There are also example forms here on VJ you can look at when filling out the forms. They can be helpful.
And here are the details you need about whether or not you need to see a civil surgeon > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/

We were approved on June 7. I reached out to my congresswoman on June 1 (Friday) and she followed up with USCIS on June 4 (first thing Monday morning) and an employee of her office actually called and left me a voicemail to tell me I was approved. USCIS also updated her office. Try the congressional step. The old website and app have not updated at all. The new website updated 2 days late. The letter arrived today (June 9).
