Has he not got his ACRO yet? Should come within 10 days of requesting it?

Regarding the medical it was fine, I previously was diagnosed with petit mal epilepsy, as this is a neurological condition. They did need further paperwork (I had specialist notes and letters) to confirm the last time I had an episode and that I no longer am on medication.

Once you book with them, they send you an email of what you need to bring with you on the day. Cost of the medical has also gone up to £330 now also.

Has your fiance had any past, significant or ongoing medical issues? Even if he hasn't he will still need to go to the GP he is registered to, to request a Patient Care Summary. They actually hold your medical if you don't have it.

If he doesn't have his immunization records, that is fine to get all the shots, but does he really want to do them at Knightsbridge where it costs an arm and a leg? All those vaccinations he can get at his surgery? For free?

With regard to the affidavit, they might very well still ask for it, as a tax year has passed? I would send him a new updated one just incase.

This has been helpful! Thank you

Nope, they take them there, they have a scanner 4 fingers of your left and right hand separately and your 2 thumbs together :)

Ahh that is so awesome! So how was it with the medical? I assume ACRO is pretty easy.. My fiance cannot locate his medical as he just doesn't go to the doctor. His old doc died and he has not been back to NHS in FOREVER. I know the instructions say if you cannot find your old records tell the medical panel, and they will more than likely give you ALL shots. What do u think? Interview sounded easy. I am wondering if we need affidavit if we sent this in with the original petition?

Goodness, it seems like a lifetime away since I posted in this thread, I just had my consulate interview today and we were approved :D Hopeful to get a POE next week depending on when the passport comes back!

Hope everyone else's journeys are coming close to POE and is over shortly :)

Hopefully we'll be able to meet across the pond?

Congrats lady! I read your experience.. I am so excited..  I saw that you wrote about fingerprints.. do these come with ACRO police record?

How was it at the London embassy and getting things done there? Quick, easy, stress free? :)

It was pretty straightforward. I was interviewed by a nice lady, she just asked a couple basic questions like when and where we met and what were our plans to get married.

She did however ask a trick question. She implied that my fiancé has been to Brazil and asked when was the last time he's been here. My fiancé has never been to Brazil.

After that she just asked when was the last time we saw each other and said that it was approved.

Wonderful news! Congrats again! LOVE does out last this process :)

We may have a different process for the medical. I was done in 2 days, the last day for my vaccination and the relesing of the sealed brown envelope which I hand-carried for my interview 2 days after my medical...as for my interview :o, i made a review on my timeline :).

Thanks so much! I read the review on your TL, was really helpful .. SOOOOOOO EXCITED for you :)

Had my interview yesterday, I was so anxious and nervous but all the built up tension from this whole process turned into an extreme burst of relief as soon as the officer said it's been approved and I should receive my passport soon.

I also got to take a week off from work and go on a little vacation to Rio for the medical and interview so overall it was a great week. I'm ready and refreshed to go back to real life after getting this immigration weight off my shoulders.

Now on to finish packing everything and looking for tickets!

How was the interview? Any tips on the questions?

agree!!!! my fiance would tell me the process is simple and we will just provide what is needed.... lol I read too much too and every now and then I panic and get overwhelmed.... Looking back now, I could've saved me some stress had I jst "trusted the process" as Greenbaum say it....But its really stressful as effff and will be only over it once we get to be with our SO.

I hope you'll have everything in order and I wish you will be done with all of the unnecessary stress we put ourselves into. I am less stressed now - after it says Visa issued. But still a little stressed lol :jest:

Thanks.. you always get it! Where are you in the process? I submitted DS-160, and getting ready to request police record and them schedule medical.. I’m drained

Im not going to argue with you, you took my words the wrong way, this whole process is tough as we all know i agree with you

Make sure you have all your info ready to input as you only get an hour to fill the form out & cant go back (annoyingly)

Have you read the ACRO site instructions? it clearly states it on there https://www.acro.police.uk/Police_Certificates_Online.aspx

You sound somewhat peeved that I asked you. My apologies. I had that same link up and because we clicked “Apply” it wouldn’t take us back to the link you shared. I appreciate your kindness. I will not reach out again. Please stay blessed

Family, please be patient with each other as this process can be iverwhelming no matter how much information to which we might have access. If it weren’t for a lot of people here I wouldn’t have been as informed as I am to pass on to others.

Yes I understand that he wants to come to America to live permanently and forget about the other country but I am not sure if overstaying in the other country will affect him now.  How long ago did he overstay? I think they will look at that.  I think you should check out the consulate review for his country and ask there to see if anyone know for sure what may happen

He didn’t have a visa.  I was overthinking as dual 😭

I am not sure.  I know someone in my family overstayed their visa for America and was able to visit Canada but got denied when they tried to return to America... so,  I'm thinking he would definitely have issues going back to the country he overstayed in but maybe America won't be too hard on him if he's honest about it

No, he doesn’t want to go back to that country. I’m more concerned about how US will see it for this country
