Hey guys, I was quiet for a while but I wanted to update- I had my interview today and the visa is approved:)! I am moving to US just in time for Thanksgiving.
I see some of you are still waiting, I hope you'll get approved soon, all the best! Same for people waiting for NVC actions. This thread helped me a lot in dealing with the wait and everything- no one could undersand me better than people in the same situation.

This process is a tough one no doubt and it affects different couples differently. In my years of experience my one take on this is to stay away from VJ or at least come visit once a month. Until you reach receiving your case number it is nothing but reading entries from people who are upset, mad, blaming, can't understand why so on and so on. There are tools out there that will advise you when your case has any movement and those are things that you should celebrate. Every relationship is tested at this stage. Mine was yours is and others here the same. The person your walking this journey with has the same feelings as you and the two of you need to recognize this and share it and overcome it. If you can't get through this then you may want to reevaluate your relationship. This is a process that is about "US" not "ME". I hope you break away and your time together you'll both decide what is best for the relationship.

I am glad you posted this, I had an experience today that I wanted to share with all of you. I sent in my rfe but found out that any documents that needed to be translated from the beneficiaries country will need to be translated in English. I requested an intercept of my parcel with USPS. I contacted the distribution center in Laguna, Ca and in talking with the representative who was to send me my parcel back they explained to me that they receive over 300 packages a day to the USCIS Immigration. So just imagine we are only seeing a handful of people on this sight whereas there are probably 100's more going through our same situation. This has enlightened this whole experience for me and if it takes either a month or two or even more to get my fiance here then I will wait patiently. All we have is time on our hands.

This. Our case was approved on a Tuesday and we didn't find out till Saturday because it only came through the mail, so approvals could be happening and you wouldn't even know till later on I know it isn't fully over yet but one thing I really regret is letting the wait for the NOA2 have complete control over my emotions, like way too much. I know sometimes we can't help how we feel (especially when you've been waiting for far too long compared to others) but I would cry during random parts of the day and even have to go to the bathroom at work to lock myself in just to cry, even though I knew I was still well within processing times for RFE... Got so bad even co-workers were beginning to ask if I was ill because apparently I looked like death all of last week. Many conversations with fiancé wasted on being negative on FaceTime with him I wish I didn't drain so much energy on something I couldn't control, because eventually NOA2 does come. Rooting for you all.

I saay do what do will do. Read the RFE carefully. Respond with all they ask for. Cover letter is fine. Return your package according to the instructions contained in the RFE. Include your original RFE letter. Make a copy for your records of everything. Once they receive your packet you should see action taken on your case 2-3 weeks. Good luck.

Okay I am literally sick to my stomach to find out that the request for evidence was for a typo in the application. However, the typo was caught as soon as we received our NOA1 in the mail back on February and we called and spoke to an agent to have it fixed, according to the USCIS website it was resolved on March 6th. Well to my surprise we received a request for evidence stating that we need to submit documentary evidence from the courts or official issuing authority to establish the correct name used by the beneficiary as well as the statement explaining the name discrepancy. They also request for any documents that are not in English to be translated. My question for all of you, I am sending a cover letter explaining that the typo was a mistake and the corrected spelling, with supporting documents, of his birth certificate, and a photo copy of his passport. The birth certificate has been translated in English as well. Do you all think this is sufficient enough evidence to get approved?

Most of the time, they will update the website first before they will mail to you the RFE letter. We knew about our rfe Aug. 13. They kept on telling us it was sent out Aug. 8 everytime we call them but we received nothing. Aug. 25th i was notified through email and got the update in the new website. Aug. 30 we received the rfe mail that’s dated Aug. 27.
Give them a week or two for your rfe letter to arrive.

Hello, guys! I've been a lurker since January but now I'd like to share something with you. I've been complaining to my fiance nonstop since last month because of the wait and I always tell him that I think it's unfair because he wasn't stressing out as much as I did (I'm the beneficiary). You see, I already resigned and was unemployed since August 28. He would only tell me, "Just wait. It will come."
Last Sunday, I went to church and the message was all about faith in waiting. Just like the Chinese Bamboo Tree. Once you plant it, you would only see a bamboo shoot in a year and it stays that way for 5 years. But the bamboo farmers don't complain because it will eventually grow at a rate of 90 feet in six weeks. You see, its roots grow underground in those first 5 years. We just can't see it yet. And beginning that Sunday, I was calm and happier. I didn't check VJ as much and I only prayed and kept myself busy.
And voila, just this morning here in the PH, my fiance got a text from USCIS (around 9pm NY time) that an action has been taken on our case. I was shaking as I checked the old site. And OMG! WE JUST GOT APPROVED! 13 has always been lucky for me. No update on the new site, though.
NOA1 (old site): February 28
NOA1 (new site): March 3
NOA2: September 13
So for those who are still waiting, hang in there. We won't realize the value of the blessing if there was no waiting. All this waiting makes us stronger as a couple. We just have to look at the bigger picture. I just can't wait until I get to hug my love!

Thank you so much, this gives me a lot of hope. At least they have touched it, that makes me happy because I am seeing some people on here where their petitions have not even been touched. This is so sad.

We were in the same situation too: our RFE draft was generated on
Aug 28th, it was mailed on Sept 7th (they weren’t able to see it before it was mailed). We received faxed copy on Sept 10th and we were told that we could send our response on RFE with faxed copy which we got and we did that. Maybe it depends on what do they ask for, but who knows.
We sent our response on Sept 11th, they received it on Sept 12th and status in app / old web site was changed on the same
day.
Waiting game #2 is officially started again.

For those of us from February STILL waiting (ugh), have you thought about what it will be like when your fiancé(e) finally gets here and can’t work and potentially drive or have a real life for another 6+ months? Been thinking about that a lot over the past week as my fiancé has been here and I’ve been at work every day and had my teenage son with us this whole weekend. It’s real life! Real life is something it seems all of us here are hoping for but maybe most of us have not really experienced. Because even when we are finally together it’s going to be a long time until it’s “real” in that the person moving over has to make his or her own life from scratch, and slowly given their lack of ability to work. This has been on my mind because of the added stress it will no doubt cause...on top of this already insanely stressful process! It’s just so much! Anyone else thinking about this while you sit and wait?

I completely understand. I had our son and he wasn't able to be there for the birth and now my son is here and we are still waiting. My heart is breaking that our lives are in someone else's hands.
