  1. Just to spread the good news, had my AOS interview yesterday... We got on the spot approval.

When we arrived all phones had to be turned off so not sure these rumors going around about wanting to see content on your mobile. As they specifically ask you to turn them off. but i cant speak for everyone so maybe if they dont believe your relationship they might want to see your phone?

Anyways really happy starting working tomorrow and my life is finally back on track.  Gonna be signing off for a while as now GC is approved and i have my / EAD / combo card  in hand. Just want to give everyone hope that we are at the final end of the process and just hang in there no matter how hard it seems there is always light at the end of the tunnel :)

  2. Dont mean to sound mean here but the fact you joined a fake university, and you are from India i dont want to generalize but your chances are getting one are slim to none.  USCIS wont have any sympathy with whatever you come up with proof wise.

Trumps changing policy's and is coming down on immigration fraud especially in the H1B area as well as other visa's.  from high fraud countries like India, and others.

Wish you all the best of luck but you will be better seeking employment in another country as whatever visa you attempt to come back to the US will be scrutinized.

which checklist are u referring to?

For those of you that are interested to know what we are meaning by checklist this is the checklist that they send you when you get the interview letter.

But after speaking with my Lawyer he informed me that its highly unlikely they will require the below due to the fact that most K1 > AOS have already submitted the information and its more that they want to see your a genuine couple.

Anyways im taking everything just in case.

    thanks!

    Hi There,

Case was updated to Interview scheduled around the 4th of April and we received the letter today so around 7 days as mail doesn't run on Sundays. but usually you get it a week or just over after it being scheduled.

Still waiting on my interview letter! It's only been 4 days since my status changed to Interview was scheduled. I hope it comes Monday. The suspense is killing me!

Do you have informed delivery setup? our interview was scheduled a few days ago and we have a USPS first class tracked item coming Monday.

So im going to assume your wish might be coming true :)

  7. ERM not sure what kind of drugs USCIS are on but when i checked their website they seem to have gone and done it again..

So it really should be on October filers for inquiries but . YEP you guessed it they extended the inquiry times so what was earlier a few hours ago on 28th of September has now gone back to the 6th of September and the time range another month has been added. Absolutely ridiculous... Bunch of .... begins with W and ends with RS

again so sorry for everyone who still stuck in the aos process.. although im not waiting of anything from aos( as i got my gc already less than 3 months from filling aos).

But i understand your frustrations guys and i really hope that you guys who impatiently waiting for the good news from your case did a research and plan before choosing a k1 Visa so that you know what to expect that might happen once you are in the US and do the aos from k1.

    wish you all the best

LOL once upon a time before someone called Trump come along the K1 used to be faster... Sadly for those of us that were told the K1 is a faster route sadly got screwed over when we had to wait 10+ months for the K1 then another 5-6 months and still have to wait for our AOS.

Well 2020 is coming up and Karma will work its magic thats all i can say HAHA!

    sorry for this guys..

i really hope you research about this process and plan everything before you guys proceed..

wish you all the best and hope you'll get a good news soon with your application.

I Feel your pain @Hemzi and @FilAm24 My wife is unable to work i have to pay for everything as she is not receiving any sort of benefits, and that includes rent and everything. So my life savings are seriously taking some serious damage.  it seriously sucks and what really gets me aggravated is they state that they process by order of received but i know for a fact that is not the case.

Really we have been cheated out of all the other months that have filed because the actual date for inquiries actually should be mid October but because USCIS just decided they were going to slap on another month its only on the end of September for inquiries.

And what really makes me angry (i mean i am happy for those approved and this is not directed at them, but how can they be approving November filers when they have not even finished September / October).  I wish that all the people filing along with all of the immigration lawyers out there could start a petition to seriously have USCIS looked into as no other company would exist if you paid as much as we have to with Fee's etc and have to wait over 10+months for the K1 and then another 5-6+ months for the EAD / AP let alone the wait for GC.

I also wish that every single one of USCIS employees actually got put on a training course or a simulation so they could understand that the paperwork on their desk is extremely important and not just a coaster for their coffee. Its peoples life's who have been placed on hold and are in turmoil because of a ridiculous system that does now allow you to drive, leave the US or even work.  Perhaps if they had to spend a week living life like that they would process the applications a lot faster.

    Rant over.

My timeline saying I should have received EAD/AP march 14 to March 24 should i call uscis?

Sadly we got to just wait until the date of when it exceeds their timelines of what they are processing.

According to visa journey I was supposed to be approved March 8th etc. But they are just an estimate.

Those lazy workers over at USCIS better be approving Visas soon or they about to get multiple phone calls daily as soon as it reaches the point of when I can enquire.

And when I can work maybe I can apply for a job at USCIS as from what I understand you can loose people's case files. Work from home and spend over 5-6 months reviewing case files that already have been reviewed prior when the K1 applicants had to wait  10+ months for their approval.

    Sounds easy to me.

My tax returns gross is less than 125% but more than 100%. I have a new job in which I started 4 months ago my pay is wayyy higher than 125% now. I am including 2 months worth of pay stubs, my previous tax return along with a letter explaining. I am tryimg to get something from my job because they said they dont do letters. My fiance interview is in 2 days. What are the chances of me being denied for being below 125% poverty on previous tax returns although I get paid more now.

For the K1 visa process you only need to show income of 100% when you come to adjust your status that is when you need to be on or above the 125%. However with that said its down to the discretion of the CO on the day of your fiance's interview.

However due to Ghana being on the red flag list, due to high fraud rates i would recommend that you aim to show that you earn 125% by getting a letter of employment from your employer.

Speak to your work because this will help with your case as if you have a signed letter stating your salary and if your position is full time or part time etc salary amount along with pay stubs then that will help with your case.

    Good luck

That freaking sucks... makes me wonder how many more people will get RFIEs because of this... and also? Isn't this really a USCIS error if they already have the marriage certification?

Hahaha your assuming USCIS workers are actually able to read.

Unless it's doughnuts or coffee or a pinacalda USCIS are useless.  Oh forgot to mention the only thing that they never seem to have issues with is Cashing them cheques 😂🤣

My husband's PD is October 2, 2018 and we still have not yet received Biometrics App yet :(

Status is still "Case was received". We're getting extremely anxious.

OMG!!  Thats not right... Either the letter got lost in the post or they made a mistake.

Call USCIS up immediately and speak to a rep, USCIS normally sends out biometrics notices within three to eight weeks of receiving an application.

As you have not received your biometrics notice / appointment letter USCIS may have the wrong address on file. Contact USCIS customer service immediately (1-800-375-5283

However, if you received your receipt notice and never received a biometrics notice, the biometrics notice might have been lost in the mail. In that case, you can again contact USCIS customer service to request a new appointment date. You can also submit an e-request using the case number on your receipt with an online case inquiry.

It’s also possible that you did not receive a biometrics notice because USCIS already has your biometrics on file. This may occur if someone already went to a biometrics appointment with USCIS within the last year, for example for renewing a green card, and then the person later filed for citizenship.

Either way please contact them to find out whats going on.

    Good luck!

If it's any consolation, how I get through it is remembering how many active K1 applications there were on average per day of one month. When members of VJ did the scans for K1s last year there were anywhere from 900 to 3500 K1 applications PER DAY (ie with the same Receipt Date).

I have picked a range of 500 cases from my PD to scan everyday just for something to do. I imagine 500 cases is nowhere near the amount of cases for my receipt date though. My guess is there's at least 1000 applications for my Receipt Date alone. That's a SUPER low guess too.

Every day there is anywhere from 5 to 8 EAD, AP or I485 cases being worked in the 500 case sample I scan so you can only imagine how long it will take to get through 1000 cases for the ONE day in October that my receipt date falls on.

In Short USCIS is quick to cash your money but after that slow to process the applications.

Seriously the fact that only less than 2 years ago this process used to take a maximum of 90 days now because of lazy workers and policy changes its now the average on over 130+ days for EAD  and they have the nerve to charge more in fee's as well and times are going up and up i can only feel sorry for those that are beginning to start the immigration process.

How they can have the nerve to charge the immigrant or petitioner thousands in fee's force them to leave their life and family from another country behind. To have to wait 6+ months on top of the already 10+ months the K1 process took is disgusting and then even have the nerve to restrict them from seeing their family or leaving the US unless in an emergency.

Well thats my rant over but seriously USCIS really need to understand that those applications they are taking their time processing are people who's lives have been put on hold and are preventing them from spending precious time with loved ones

  15. Any other October filers still awaiting their EAD? mines been pending over 159+ days now for AP and EAD and over 120+ days since my AOS / GC was last updated with the "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

Really starting to drag... not sure what their delay is but hoping to hear something next week the only good thing is for those of us waiting we are approaching the date of when we can submit an inquiry.

So I have a question about a situation that I am facing right now and I would like to know if any visa-journey members have been through it before and what they did.

I just got a job offer and I have my EAD in hand and I am supposed to undergo a background check and I don't know if the EAD will be acceptable in the process . ( I know that it allows me to work legally , I just don't know if the background checking agency will be able to find my name ).

    I would appreciate any insight.

Congratulations on your job offer, you have nothing to worry about the background checks will be done.

Most agency's have various ways of obtaining backgrounds from people from any country due to cross sharing information via a central database. Also you have your police report that would of listed any serious offences. But trust me your picture finger prints and all of your personal information retaining to your background will already be in the system. Gotta love Uncle Sam for that.

Relax go grab a beer and hope you enjoy your new job
