That could very likely be the reason, as you know that changes from country to country and embassy knows what/when to send you the packet. Seat back, grab a beer/coffee or whatever you like best and turn netflix on.

Thank you.  So it is possible to pay for the visa fee without scheduling the interview appointment at the same time? Think I'll do that.
I spoke to someone who recently went through an interview in Ecuador.  They said packet 3 is basically the NVC set of generic instructions.  Packet 4 is what the embassy sends you. I'll share such info once I get it.

Once you have your case number then submit the DS-160 and pay the interview fee, then schedule the appointment. You'll have an appointment confirmation page appear once you select a date which you print off a couple of copies to use for medical etc.

The medical in Ecuador cannot be scheduled until an interview appointment has been made.  I also wanted to save time by doing this ahead of time.  Fiancee called the medical center and was told a print out with the interview date was needed.

I have seen that sometimes calling after the NVC Case # is assigned can somewhat be pointless as it is then out of their control as to when the "batches" get sent, but I will say that from a customer service level NVC is a million times better than USCIS.. there is hope for humanity!

I got my case number last week too and I am hoping that it gets sent out this week too!! Its only going to London haha

Yes that makes sense that they said that, from what I saw I believe in the post was that batches ended up sending 5/15, 5/29, 6/12.. so if that is the trend it looks like every other Tuesday is what they did for the past 3 send outs.

Oh my goodness! So LONG, I would be going crazy.. I am on borderline of feeling anxious that everything isn't moving along.. I have seen in previous comments that people have seen trends of every other week one day a week that they send out batches off to the necessary embassies, so I'm hoping for this week. It's reassuring to know that at least we are at this stage and not the NOA1-NOA2 stage because that was so difficult, but at the same time now that we are this far along it makes you want everything that much more quicker

Thank you.  I do have a case number.  I'm on day 23 waiting to be sent to the embassy.  Hopeful to see "in transit" soon.

Hi! I can see that you already have your case number, which is great. I may be wrong but I believe the last NVC part (where they send the case out) is a bit country specific, so I would recommend you check with people who're going through the same embassy or consulate as you are. Just because the NVC is done and ready to send your case out, doesn't mean the embassy/consulate is ready to receive it. 
 
If however you find others going through Ecuador with quick Case # assigned to In transit timelines, then that may be reason to start investigating what is going on.

I had my interview on Tuesday and was approved and today I just received my passport with the visa. I want to say thank you to everyone, you are all so valuable and have helped me in one way or another without even realizing it. Good luck to those still waiting for their approval as well as to the rest who are done with the K1 process.

I would as well try to ease your mind, I feel like EVERY case is handled differently even if they are in the similar family type of situation or same country even. I really feel as if it depends who has gotten assigned the case, yes sometimes we see trends but sometimes we just don't have a logical explanation for comparisons of cases 

Yes. Our medical was completed today and the results will be at the Embassy by Friday.

Waiting at the NVC since May 29th

My case is till at NVC since May 25th. Hope this week will be the week it gets transferred.

Case at NVC since May 29th.  Case number assigned the next day.... 10 days later.. still at NVC, what is taking so long to be sent off to the embassy?
