David1987 reacted to SKYLARK647 in I-751 October 2017 filers
Hello everyone, my case was transferred from VSC to TSC on October 31st and I just checked the status now. It shows that a new card has been produced on December 1st. So it took about a month to get the approval after the transfer.
FYI, i filed for I-751 on October 14, 2017.
To those, who are waiting eagerly after the transfer, hang in there. The ball has started rolling, the good news are on the way. 😊

then the next step is to apply for ROC Removal of conditions i-751 when you get near to your 2 year GC anniversary. About a year later, then you can apply for US Citizenship N-400.

So I just now finished my N-400 application online with pending i-751(Oct 2017 VSC filer) and i think 95% of us don't have our 10 year card yet. I heard there's a few I-751 Oct 17 filers that got their green card already but i'm not sure if they were VSC or CSC.
I was on the fence for the longest of time because a couple months ago I started noticing a trend where pending i-751 started getting interviews before applying for N-400 where was combo people had their application transferred immediately and their interviews were much after and when they did interview, they wouldn't get approved immediately because the immi officers would be like 'sorry you still got a pending -751' and might require additional time. At this point, the pattern is no longer there. I see movement or no movement on either sides: pending i-751 and pending combo (+N-400). I was trying to avoid 2 interviews: one for i-751 and one for N-400 where both me and my husband would need go. But if it's really a combo then it's great. If I did/do get called for interview for i-751 only, at least after going there with my husband and coming home with the 10 year green, i wouldnt need to bring my husband for me AGAIN when I do go for the N-400. So yes, while there is chance that i-751 only may get called for an interview if their case stay where it is or get transferred to anywhere other than Nebraska and get their 10 year GC faster than ppl with pending combo, i haven't see much of a pattern lately to make any statement/prediction.
The good thing about N-400 is it does force ppl to look up your case and call you for fingerprint and they do transfer the case. So they are def looking at it and whether they do sth about it or not is another question.
I'm curious to see if delaying my N-400 by 45 days is going to cost me. hmm 😕 in the long run when everyone but me starts to get interviews before me.
To all, get ready for work tomorrow

Create an Account here if you have not already done so.
https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/
Once you have created an account you can go ahead and start your N-400 application.
My answer to what documents you need. Well, provide everything they ask for on the online application.
As for additional evidence.. my simple answer is.. provide enough evidence of the marriage so they know what you ate for breakfast for each and every day of your marriage.
Literally anything and everything you can find that has both your names on it and can clearly show there is a relationship.
Everything im listing here can be joint.
bank statement, credit card statements, insurance policies, 401ks IRA's. health insurance dental vision, home owners, renters insurance car insurance.... the list is almost infinite. provide anything and everything you can and you should be all squared away.
I hope this helps.

What does a lawyer have to do with is? There is no such thing as perfect filing either. We all submit the same application. It's just a matter of how lucky and how convincing your bonafide materials are. I hope you get approved soon but sorry to burst your bubble - getting the 18 months extension has nothing to do with whether your green card is on the way or not. The majority of people out here who got approved did see an update status change online about their card being produced. If you know what you are doing, you can save your money and avoid a lawyer.

David1987 reacted to Texaco5 in Filing N400 online, anyone?
The reference you highlighted is for someone who is not a legal permanent resident residing in the US when they make the application (ie they are living in another country outside the USA, not visiting another country like you are).
You should be able to file online. If they schedule anything while you are traveling out of the city where you live or out of the country, you can contact the USCIS and reschedule the appointment.

This is what happens when people are not smart enough to compete for jobs in the private sector. They apply for government jobs which leads to an abundance of underskilled people working for government agencies who cannot perform basic tasks such as processing paperwork which causes delays in all areas of government which is why nothing ever gets done. Processing our immigration applications .. and more specifically these I-751's is a prime example of that.

@David1987 @speakerbox Go into your settings and turn "case inactivity notifications" to off. That's all what these emails are.

It looks like the first one might be from the Service Center and the 2nd one from your local field office. My local field office received my petition on 2/26 after it hat been at CSC since October.
But now that we can use the case number from the initial NOA, at least we can always check our case status and we'll know if a biometrics letter has been sent out (if everything is working properly).
Funny story: 2 days before receiving my 2yr card, my case status was updated to 'your card has been destroyed because you did not contact us', but I had. Turns out someone there made a mistake and I received my card like 2 days later. Meanwhile I was freaking out, made an infopass appointment ...

David1987 reacted to nightingalejules in I-751 ROC Never received biometric appointment letter
If there are still people waiting for biometrics letters who filed in July, the likelihood is that you won't have the biometrics letter in hand before Christmas. My best advice is to just go on with your life. This process will go on for a very long time.
The up side is that you have your NOA (the extension letter) so you can travel with no problem (by the way, they almost certainly won't give you a stamp when you still have an extension letter that's good for a year. Usually you can't get one until almost the anniversary date). Go ahead and book your trip - go see your family.
Have someone check your mail for you while you're gone, and in the unlikely event that you get your bio appt letter while you're gone AND (even more unlikely, given the current speed of processing) the actual appointment is before you're meant to get back, you can decide whether to fly home early or to reschedule your appointment.
