    My dear VS NYC friends,

    LONG POST ALERT 🚨

We had finally had our aos interview yesterday so i will share my experience for reference. Our appointment was at 1:30pm, Brooklyn field office. We arrived at the waiting area at about 12:55pm, we made the line to give up the notice and get the turn ticket (they call you by ticket, not by name and they don’t call you in order of number either). Fun fact: lady at the booth asked me if i was the attorney 🤣 (dressed for success i guess 🤣) i told her i was just the beneficiary and she said oh, ok.

We waited about 20-25 minutes maybe but we were called in fairly on time. The IO was very nice and courteous walking us over to her office, she swore us in and asked me to sit by the camera, took my fingerprints and pictures, asked us if we had any additional joint documents to bring em forward and put them on her desk and instructed us that she was going to start asking the questions to my husband (petitioner) and for me to put the documents on the desk while she asked away, we complied and she then said “omg i love how you put the files together!” And my hubby said “yup, she’s the organizer!” and she laughed and immediately started asking questions.

They asked my husband all the questions about how and when we met, where we went on our first date, how long we dated before we got married, when and how we decided to get married and why, asked about our living arrangements, trips with dates, if he had been married before, if he had kids, pets, where I worked (my husband did a great job responding to the questions without missing a beat as she went 👌🏽). Then (after the organizer bit) she started asking me questions, she asked if ive been married before or my husband, if i had kids or if he had kids, asked about pets how many and what were they lol, asked about insurance, bank accounts and what banks, asked about our bofa account which was originally just mine and when I opened it (2011 while i was here visiting) and so she asked if i added him and i said yes and I believe i added him before or after we were married she said ok good, asked about where he worked, told him he got a new job literally two days before the interview and she stated that those are good jobs, joked a little and then started asking me the aos yes/no, asked my husband to take 8 pictures (were we are in groups) out of the (handmade by moi album) and he couldn’t figure it out so i helped him get em out while responding to the rest of the questions, she then had me sign the aos form, thanked us and stated that a decision would be made in about 3 weeks but that I would get an email notification first and whatever decision made by mail after, walked us out and that was it.

Fun fact#2 my ENTIRE immigration file was on her desk because i saw a picture of one of my visas from 2005 (I assumed she purposely left it there so i knew they had everything lol).

Fun fact#3 the whole interview took less than 15 minutes 🙃 but it was thorough as heck

At about 3:50am today i got the email about new card being produced 😭😭😭

I’m assuming it’s a 2 year GC but my dad also told me the IO has the power to approve it for 10 years at their discretion (that would be awesome!!!) I’ll let you guys know!!!!

i had my tears of joy meltdown this morning when I saw that email 🤧 but this part of the ordeal is over for now friends 🙏🏽Good luck to all of you still waiting, go over prepared when it comes to paperwork, more is always better and be organized, they’ll appreciate it!!!

I will later show you how I organized everything for reference!!

Good luck and thank you for your support and your help throughout this process ♥️

    Hi folks ,

I don’t know how to describe our interview experience . It was weird for me . This morning At 8h45 everything was completed knowing that our interview was scheduled at 8h30 . It was so simple that we had the doubt that our application would be disapproved . We were called 10 minutes before the scheduled time. The lady was young she had us seated  without even making a vow . She asked for our ID s then she started checking the application. After that she asked if we had joined documents we gave them the bills and the lease but not the photos though they were with us ( we thought she would ask us for them separately ). For the questions , my hubby (applicant) was the one who was asked more questions . I was asked just 3 simple quick questions (it was wasn’t even about our relationship e.g. does he have children , why we waited that period to apply for the ajustement of status , does he work?) . For him , it was about the yes or no questions that you talked about and about my work  and studies. She wasn’t even looking at us too much she was focusing on the documents . Finally she told us that we would receive a letter ( either approval or disapproval ) in 180 days 😰😰 that was the first shocking news and she didn’t even tell us I’d it was approved or not . So I m still not relieved . I thought my mind would gain some rest today but We still have to resist the battle . We re now sinking in doubts of being disapproved because of the way the interview was conducted .  That was the experience

    .............

and now just checked the status, which I didn't expect to change , to find it “Interview was completed and my case must be reviewed “

please folks if you had the same experience or know someone with the same one just share !

I thought the battle would came to an end today but there will still be more thinking , stress , waiting ....🙄

    Thanks

Hang in there my friend. The one upside to this is that your case is being reviewed maybe it’s because they have to verify some things. Time will tell. Stay positive the best way you can

@Dee28 Hey so I am Rockland based, we are right next to Westchester County so our FO is Manhattan. My case hasn't been rerouted yet. Our Congress Woman is Nita Lowey. I am more than willing to drive all the way up to Albany for an interview if it gets me one sooner. Really hoping it comes over the next few weeks.

@dc91226 I’m in Orange County so we are right next to each other and our field office was Manhattan so don’t be surprised you get a letter shortly. We received just a letter there were no notifications on the uscis website or the case tracker apps. I was able to know prior to us getting the actual letter because I have informed delivery.last night around 1230 our status was finally updated to show a card is in production and the case was approved. Hang in there my friend your time is near.🍀

Congrats!! Great everything went smooth for  you! You can now finally move on to a new chapter of your life!

I'm still waiting for my interview to be scheduled. I actually requested help from our local congress woman to get an inquiry but pretty sure USCIS will just say "within normal processing times". PD was for June 18th 201,8 hoping any day now I get the status change to interview scheduled.

@dc91226Where are you located? I tried the same thing as contacting our congressmen and was told it was within filing time. My field office was originally in Manhattan but because of the overload it was rerouted to Latham NY. The officer there told me due to the overload they have taken over 5 more counties in the Latham field office so maybe you may hear something soon. Fingers crossed and good luck

  5. Afternoon All,

just a quick update on our status.. today was our interview @ 1pm, we arrived at 12:15 and was called in around 1:15. We walked into the officers office where we were told not to sit until we agree to tell the truth . Then we sat down and the officer said at this time he will Invite us to give any additional evidence and supporting documents to show we have an ongoing marriage. We presented pictures of the last year together at various times, bank statements, car insurance, health insurance, life insurance showing my beneficiaries. He then asked us to tell him about our relationship/ marriage. When we met, got engaged and married. How was our wedding day. Who attended was it a big ceremony or little. He then took the pictures and asked us to explain who was in them and what was the event or location. He also went over the yes and no questions that were on the application. He then advised that everything looked great and he’s approving our application to allow 3 weeks to get the card in the mail. He then asked if we have any questions. Then told us to have a nice day and congrats total time of interview was approximately 15-20 minutes . 🎉🍾 thank you god this chapter is over for now. To all that’s waiting hang in there your day is near. ... sorry for any grammatical errors just me typing excitedly while on the way home.

That’s literally what I’ve been doing 🤣 I actually googled “aos interview experience 2019” and have had some prospective, also there are some document filing websites that give you a list of examples and i copied them, and will print em out in a test form give a copy to my hubby and one for me, fill it out and exchange it, like a “know your boo” kind of thing to make sure we’re on the right page, also they say they’ll ask you questions from the forms you filed, so make sure you have your copies.  I’m attaching the questions samples for you cause I don’t remember the exact webpage i got em from💁🏽‍♀️Added the other list🍀

I received today! Actually 2 of the interview notices(same) also a 3rd letter where they canceled it. 🤦‍♀️🤯

So I went to the office where they filed my application they said this is their 3rd case today same story.

But said I have to show up on the original interview date because field offices and NBC not always in sync. And important info for everyone in this situation show up on your interview if it’s really canceled get a stamp you showed up. Because they can deny you application if u don’t show up on interview because of their messed up system and letters !!!!!It’s possible you’ll still get your interview at the original date. We are also waiting for a new interview notice with the rescheduled appointment but until we get ready for September 12th😑

Sorry if it’s a long post but hope helps others!

Just a little info we received an appointment letter but on the app as well as uscis web it still shows case ready to schedule an interview. We are still going to show up for the interview in two weeks and hope for the best. Good luck to everyone 🍀

It is my understanding that the medical is now valid for 2 years since performed due to the lengthy waits times. Evidence will be everything you submitted for the i130 plus everything else since submission, like bank statements, insurance policies, life insurance (in our case i was able to get a very good job that offered all of that (his didn’t) so i added him to all my benefits, we did our taxes together, have plane tickets and a ton of pictures of all the traveling we have done since submission, we have checking and savings together, we adopted a kitten together so both our names are in the adoption papers. Immigration wants proof of a bonafide relationship and that you have an economic relationship too. Good luck 🍀👍🏽

Thank you for all your help, have you travelled out of the country with your advanced parole? Fingers crossed, hope we hear something soon. Good luck to you as well thanks again for your assistance it sure makes this process a little easier to have friends in the same boat.

I’ve been gathering new ‘evidence’ and adding it to the ‘evidence binder’ so that if our case is moved elsewhere, we’re ready to roll but tbh i rather be summoned by my second year anniversary and get my permanent GC😭 this process is so tiring 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Question, do you think we should get a new medical done? What kind of evidence do you think we should bring if and when we are called?

  11. 12 hours ago, Mellamanlola said:

When you file your aos pack, USCIS will send you receipts indicating the date in which your application was received. That’s your priority date. It’s usually located on the top of your receipts (notice of action noa). We filed our aos packet in june 12 2018 for the Brooklyn area and we’ve been married for 1.5 years, 2 years in February 😪 case has been ready for interview since November, no rfe, still waiting 😪

Thank you for your response We filed Aug18 and as of  Sept 12 case is ready to schedule and interview. We have been married a little over a year now and I’m in Orange County, I believe our field office is in federal plaza. This wait is to much I just want this all to be over and done with. Hope one of us gets good news soon.

OMG I don't want to wait that long!!!!! The man wants to work yesterday lol.  We are going to go tomorrow.  We called our local SSA officee and they said they don't see anything issued for him and that we can come in with his card and passport blah blah blah

We didn’t do ours with the combo card I did it about two weeks after he was here using his passport and the stamp done when he came in

  13. 19 hours ago, Jenny17655 said:

Hey all, we just received the combo card in the mail today. We checked the box on the I765 requesting a social security card.  How can we tell if its been processed.  We tried calling the SSA but they couldn't tell us anything without a social security number lol

You can actually go to your local social security office and check on it if you don’t get it in a week or two. Btw congrats
