Hello, do you need to redo your medical test? I am very confused. Because I know medical test is only valid for a year, so after a year if I still didn’t have my interview, I need to redo it?
Our medical test was done over a year ago but we did not have to redo it.

Our file date was May 29, 2018. We had our interview last week. 😃😃😃
Note: One person showed up without her petitioner and had to reschedule. It’s required that the petitioner and immigrant both come to the interview.
My wife, her 2 children and I were called back to the office of the immigration officer. He swore us in and then asked how we met, when the family arrived and a few basic questions. He asked my wife and her children the yes/no questions from the AOS application. Then he asked for proof of our marriage relationship. We showed him pictures, bank statements, utility bills, insurance etc. He asked me if I still worked at the same place and I said yes. I had pay stubs etc as proof but he didn’t ask for them. He said he was recommending our approval and congratulated us.
We received their green cards one week later in the mail. If you’re signed up for alerts in uscis you will get several alerts. A tracking number will be sent in one of the alerts.

Wife received her Green Card today. Does it come with a social number or do we have to go to the SS office? Can they give here a social on the spot, or does she have to wait for that too? Thanks in advance!
The SSN is not automatic since they are two different government agencies. When you apply for the EAD, there is a check box for USCIS to forward the information to the SSN office but not for the green card. You and your wife can take her green card to you local SSN office and apply. You might check with the SSN office by phone to make sure you have all of the correct documents. I believe that the SSN card will be mailed to you in a couple of days after applying.

We received our EAD/AP approval notice on Oct 10. 😃The card was mailed on Oct 11. Our status changed on Oct 11 to give us a tracking number with USPS. Then, we were surprised to receive both the EAD card and SSN card on Monday Oct 15. The EAD card has an AP number assigned to it - so only one card is needed. In all steps we received text/email alerts but some came from uscis.gov and some came from my.uscis.gov. I think it helps to be registered with both.

My wife's I765 was approved yesterday Oct 10. The uscis.gov website never updated but I received an alert from https://my.uscis.gov/. Our receipt date was May 29 according to ucsis.gov but it was June 4 according to https://my.uscis.gov/.
Also, the visa journey estimate was correct for the I-765 and I-131.

Hey guys! Due to the backed up processing times, what should we expect for us who filed in May? My office is Albany, NY
You can look up official processing times here: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
Also, if you fill in your VisaJourney profile dates and check the timeline it gives expected adjudication dates for your case. Click on timeline from your profile.

We went to SSA office and applied but they said that somebody else already applied on behalf of my hubby, so we got the number then and there but the actual card will be sent in 2 weeks..
Just hoping that since we answered "no" to the first time ss# is produced tbat it won't be seen as misrepresentation since it was our first time asking for a ssn but I guess nbc might have asked for it when the ead was approved.
The SSA officer said someone made/asked for a new SSN for my hubby the same day his ead/ap was approved but we didn't know that until after the "interview"
So, if you will go to the SSA let them know that you might already have because you did ask it in the aos packet.
There is a check box on the 765 to forward the information to the SS office when the EAD is approved. Maybe that was checked on your application.

I got SSN card before I-94 expired, DMV dosent cares about your SSN, the only two documents they required are passport with a valid visa and correspondent I-94
Okay, I understand. The requirements here in KS is SSN, Visa and proof of address.

I went to DMV today and got a negative answer coz my I-94 was expired, the manager from the back desk told me they can’t accept my applicantion unless i extend my I-94, and they only cares of two documents which is passport and I-94, the rest of the docs like 797C for I-485 or marrige certificate even SSN card is not their concern... and she wouldn’ suggest me to go through secondary for AB60 license since the wait time is about half to a year, by that time I might probably get my EAD.
My question is K1 can’t extend the expiation date and only admitted for around 90days, the valid duration dosen’t make any sense for getting a DL or ID at all ! since most of us can’t get EAD within 4 months, what are we gonna do for all these months? That’s obviously an unreasonable loophole, just a saying! Anyway make no sense to whine about it since it can’t be improve.
If your I-94 is expired, you have to wait for your EAD is issued. That will allow you to get a SSN so you can get your drivers license. I know this is crazy. 😕K-1 Visa holders are here on an expired Visa with no other documentation and no way to drive, work, apply for credit....etc. This process used to make more sense when the timelines were shorter.
I guess it's worth repeating that K-1 AOS filers should get an interim SSN with their I-94 while they can.

I talked to the customer service one min agao, the officer told me they currently processing EAD files for March 2018, and their processing time no longer 90days, is 6.5 months to be exact, which is April and May filers haven’t got your EAD at the time being still in the time frame.
This is frustrating, when we think that May filers started to get their combo card means USCIS is working on May files already... but I think the file piles may be pull out randomly by year not by date order.
The official response from USCIS is not what is really happening. If you look at the current processing times for I-765 it says they are processing March.
https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
The phone support staff is going to tell you the "official" date according to the website. This is so that USCIS doesn't get a huge amount of calls asking about applications. If you look at the responses on this forum, there are definitely people from all of May who have had their applications approved. Hang in there it will be coming soon. 🙂

So, I am so confused about the EAD - I thought they went in order? I'm seeing some of you approved for your EAD but you have a later NOA1 than me Did I get forgotten?
The same thing happened with our K1 applications. They were not necessarily processed in order of receipt. The good news is that they are processing applications from all of May!! I'm expecting a change in status any day now. 🤩

Well, I finally got everything together and have triple checked each line. I am now an official CR-1 filer and not a K-1 filer. I am scared s#itless that the K-1 will haunt us forever but it is now in the capable (?) hands of USCIS...
Best of luck to you and your family.

Just checking in to say hello. I am getting the certified copies of the marriage certificate later this week. My CR-1 package is ready to go. I hope all is well.
Hi John,
Thanks for the update. I was just checking back in after a while and I'm sorry about the results of your K-1. You have an amazing attitude about the whole thing. Congratulations on your wedding 🙂. I'm glad you're ready with your CR-1 - should be much better results this time.

is there a higher chance when you use a lawyer to file your case? or it is the same thing when you file it yourself?. I think the lawyer has the knowledge whether your case will be approve or will need more evidence right?
because I hired a lawyer on my case
A good lawyer can assist in making sure you don't get RFEs which adds stress and time to a difficult process. They can't really cut down the NOA1-NOA2 wait.

@John & Rose I see that you have already gone to GCP. The website says that it's purpose is to counsel Filipino citizens on the future in the country they are going to - however they ask for a lot of the documentation that has already been given to the US Embassy. Can you give any insight on what actually happens during the CFO step? Is there some type of interview that happens at that point?

These are arguments from 1-2 days ago. We've all tried to bring positivity back here - no need to feed the arguments.
I'm not arguing. I agree with you. This has been a really positive group with the exception of DandY who harasses people and brings negativity. People are already frustrated by the long process, there's no need to add to this by intentionally targeting people the way he is. He has been asked before to let it go but hasn't got the message yet. I hope we can all get beyond "being right" and be supportive again.

You have serious issues!! You are rude, inconsiderate and no one here cares about your stupid mathematical guesses. You made a good guess and now you think that makes you an expert at something. If you have no more life than that your are in sad shape.

It's actually Jollibee. We have rice all the time. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm Filipino by the way.
Right! Thanks for the spelling correction. I was half and half for breakfast. Half time Filipino/ half time American. It will be interesting when they get to America. I've already warned them that not every restaurant serves rice.

Some people got RFEs because don't send the terms of use when them "met" online, by the way I wish luck that our friend don't get nothing
Right. Rapid Visa made me include the terms of usage for Facebook because we initially made contact through a mutual friend.
