  1. I am sorry if someone has asked this question before but I am leaving to Germany in a few weeks. We already got our notice in the mail with the 18month extension.

When I leave the states, do I need to see a USCIS field office to get something in my passport saying I’m ok to leave? Or can I just leave and come back without any issues?

just want to be prepared to bring EVERYTHING  I need :) Thanks for your help!

How is everyone doing - any updates? @Bianca89, how did the interview go?

    Hey guys,

our interview went really well. Unfortunately, we had to wait for about an hour in the waiting room. As soon as it was our turn the officer went through all the YES/NO questions on the application. After that, he asked us how we meet and if I brought any proof for our relationship. We showed him a bunch of pics + our car insurance, joint bank accounts, etc, etc. After that, he gave us a document which said that he recommended us for approval. We haven't gotten any status update yet tho - I am a little concerned right now (even though everything went so well & he was so nice to us). How long did it take you guys to get a notification?

    2. It says "a completed Affidavit of Support unless already submitted", does it not?

The only exception to that is if your financial situation has changed since filing. You should redo the I864 then an provide current supporting financial documents.

THANK YOU SO SO SO SO ...... MUCH ! That helped me a lot and will let me sleep in peace tonight ^^

  4. In the green card appointment letter it says to bring :

    - a completed medical examination ...

    - a completed affidavit of support (income tax returns/w2 etc) ....

My medical exam is still valid and I gave the sealed envelope to customs when I entered the country.

I submitted an affidavit of support when I filled AOS

Do we have to submit these things AGAIN? Or how does that work :D? Thanks for your help :)

Hi, we had our interview last month. We got the notice about 5 weeks before the interview date. We are from Richmond and had plenty of options to choose from in terms of doctors. The medical exam was between 200-300 dollars (cannot remember exactly).

Maybe you can tell us a little about your interview? What did they ask? What proof did you bring etc :)

I'm going to have my interview at Norfolk, though probably not very soon. I just wanted to ask about how far in advance you got a notice for your interview, and if there was any trouble with finding a doctor in the area. I'm also wondering what the medical exam cost - I'd be happy to discuss it over PM if that's more comfortable. Thanks!

All the best for those with upcoming interviews. :)

I received my notice about 5 weeks in advance - so plenty of time to prepare ;) I am not sure about the medical costs but mine won't be expire before the Green card interview so I won't do another exam!

Hey there! My local office is Norfolk too, NOA-1 October 15th, and last update “Fingerprint review was completed “ at the end of November and silence since that day... So looks like my case is still in NBC 😒

It’s actually a bit odd how few entries are here for the Norfolk office, because when I got to my biometrics appointment there was a huge line there... 🤷‍♀️

Anyways, so far we only have @Bianca89 with the interview date (good luck there girl ☺️) and she’s 2 months ahead! So if we’re as lucky as she is we’ll get our interviews in a couple of months too 😎

Awww thanks :) I keep you guys posted on how it went. I am trying to get all the documents together now. I am a little confused about the people getting an medical exam.... did yours expire @Ermin&Zijada??

I’m not sure if you got your interview letter yet. but it states if it’s a marriaged based AOS then your husband has to be there. I assume your husband is military? if he really can’t be there.. you could get official orders paperwork for his travel to guam. and with that you should be fine with that. 🙂

I haven’t gotten the letter yet but thanks for letting me know! I will see what I can do ☺️

154 days later.... "New Card is Being Produced"

    FINALLY!

My case also got approved just 2 days ago. Right now the status is "Case is approved". What status will follow? Is it "card is being produced"? And how long did it take to change for you? I am just so excited to finally get my combo card 🤩
