The travel bans have been going on for months but this is a recent development
There have been other super slow years, not just 2017. It fluctuates a lot
The supreme court only just put a stay on the lower court's injunction.

I'm really sorry to hear that and I do hope you get better and approved soon. If it's affecting your health severely then maybe it's better for you guys to see each other sooner.
I wonder, if you actually need to be hospitalized, and are, maybe that's a good case for expediting?

So I just received an email update that I got the RFE and got a notification of the change on the app seconds after the email. The email and app say that it was mailed today, Dec. 14th, not Dec. 8th as I was told on the phone. I feel that the RFE was issued by the officer on Dec. 8th but my case was just sitting until I called today and they decided to mail out the RFE today. That's our tax dollars at work 😩
Not just our tax dollars, also the higher fee we paid this year.

Lol, that's not how it works. You think trump gave the order for them to stop processing cases?
Um, when travel bans are going back and forth in the courts, and USCIS has to dig through their files to find which cases are affected, you don't think that has anything to do with why they might be holding back a shipment of files to NVC?

This is ridiculous how to explain that people who filed almost two months after me got approved and I'm still waiting.206 days no rfe nothing. And inquiry said they are currently processing my case which was a month ago.Last night my fiance called USCIS and asked to talk to tier 2 the "lady" just said NO and hung up, and after checking my case status they ask for me to rate them. Can I do it with middle finger, honestly I'm so done with them.Probably whitdrawing our petition on Mon.Good luck to you guys!
Make sure your fiancé "demands" to speak with an immigration officer.

I wonder what format the ‘transfer notice’ is in? I’ve not heard of anyone receiving that. Did you ask?
I've never heard of that. The NOA-2 approval notice says that it "...has been forwarded to the NVC." So what is this transfer notice? "We were only kidding before. Now we're actually sending it." ?

Got a response from csc just today. I ask them if they really sent our case to NVC as what it says in a hard copy of NOA2.
Thank you for your inquiry. This notice acknowledges the receipt of a status inquiry concerning your approved I-129F petition. To conclude processing, the California Service Center expects to forward your I-129F petition to the National Visa Center (NVC) in an expeditious fashion.
At the time your I-129F is forwarded to the NVC, you will receive a transfer notice confirming the shipment of the petition. After you receive the transfer notice, please understand that it takes a period of time for the NVC to update its systems. We recommend you wait 60 to 90 days prior to inquiring with the NVC.
Please note the current priority date assigned can be reset by the consulate at the time of interview, if necessary.
"Expeditious fashion" - I don't think that means what they think it means. ;-P

Darn they told me 70 minutes, at 1pm est today, and i never got the call back. Now i feel like i have to do it all over again to try to get to one tomorrow
I think it probably matters when you call and how busy they are. I usually try around 3 or 4pm Pacific time.

How long did it take to get a call back? I was positioned to get a callback from tier 2 and wanted to know what the expectancy was
They usually tell you how long. The automated thing said 25 minutes. It was about 35 minutes.

It's really becoming a strain on us and our relationship. I have no answers for him as to why it's taking so long, absolutely none!!! I look at the USCIS case tracker and my case is the ONLY case that has not been touched - all the cases that are I-129F cases have been approved and/or RFE but mine. I call and speak to Tier 2 and other than being hung up on by them, when I call back I get the same tired answer which is I have to wait for the processing chart to change on the 16th. Well, the 16th is a Saturday, so IF it does update that I have to hope that the date is at or pas May 23rd and then I would have to wait until Monday to call in an put in an inquiry just so they can tell me I will have to wait approximately 45 days for an answer. Well, on Monday, it will be 7 months exact that I will be waiting for a NOA2 or RFE. For the amount of time this is taking just to get a yes, no or maybe answer, it will be a year if not longer for him to come here because of course, now there's a backlog with NVC.
With all of this, tension is starting to rise because we are both tired of waiting and feeling stuck. And while yes, I do want to go see my fiancé apart of me doesn't want to because I want to hold on to my vacation time for whenever it's time for him to have his interview and for him to come over here, but also because I know when I got see him, I will be returning alone and leaving him there, again with no answers, no nothing.
This is beyond draining and I have definitely lost hope. While I am extremely happy to see others move on - even if it's to wait in line at the NVC stage, you guys are at least not in limbo of knowing if an approval or RFE is going or not. But for me, I'm beyond exasperated.
It's outrageous. I know about the relationship strain, and I can imagine how hard it is with the ridiculously longer wait you're going through, and especially not being able to get any answers, and just feeling so powerless. It's unconscionable how you're being treated. Honestly, it infuriates me even more than I'm infuriated for us. You could also call your congressman's office. I feel like even just voicing your complaint to someone who might actually listen might at least ease some of the emotional stress for you.

I'm not doing all of that. I just an email inquiry to all three of them. Realistically, there's not much they are gonna do but at most tell me that I'm waiting for whatever reason USCIS provides them. I'm not being pessimistic, that's just what it is.
Truly, I'm at the point of just throwing in the damn towel. This is too much on me physically!!!
Hang in there, girl. All your positivity and support of other will pay off.

Just sent the email to one of the congressional reps. But I seriously believe all 3 of emails will be waste of my time.
Did you fill out the form asking for help with a federal agency? You have to sign it and fax it because of privacy laws. I think their first inquiry may have helped us. Plus it doesn't hurt to make some noise!

So, I just sent an email to both of my U.S. State Senators just now regarding the status of my case because I'm 204 days in waiting in I really don't see an end to this any time soon. In fact, I'm starting to feel like I won't receive anything until 2018.
I'm sure I just wasted my time emailing both Senators' offices as I'm sure they will get the same response that I get once-twice a week which is my case is within normal processing times. But considering in 6 days, I will be 7 months waiting for my NOA2 if I don't get it between now and then (yeah, right), I figured let's see what response they will get.
Most likely though I wasted my time.
Did you also contact your congressional rep? They have fewer constituents, so it would be quicker to get a response from them. They assigned a case officer within a few days, vs. my senator's office who said it would take them 3-5 weeks just to assign a case officer.

Day 40 for us and still nothing. Just called. So that'll be 6 weeks on Thursday.
I printed and filled out a congressional inquiry, but idk if I need to wait until Thursday to file it or not. I don't think they will have it by Thursday anyway... so I just want to go ahead and file it, but I'm worried they might push back since "it hasn't been 6 weeks yet"
It takes them awhile to assign a case officer anyway, so you might as well go ahead and file.

Has anyone reached out to their congressman about the NOA2 --> NVC delay?
Yeah. I asked my congressman's office to look into the USCIS delay and now they are checking again re: the delay getting the approved petition to NVC.

We got our NOA-1 last week. We have all of December for it to process, and then I'll be in England with my fiance. Is it really taking that long currently, even for a country like England? I assume some countries take longer than others.
I have been offered a work from home type job from a friend so I could do online work.
My fiancé is coming from Scotland. We have been waiting since April.

Tomorrow, we're supposed to get our first snow here in Delaware and I keep thinking to myself that Reni was supposed to be here with me already and I should be watching his reaction to seeing snow in person for the first time.
10 more days from now it will be 7 months of waiting and while I don't want to think negative about making it that long without getting it, I really see no end to this wait game and probably won't get my approval before Christmas. I don't know why this is happening this way and I'm done with calling USCIS to hear the same thing over and over.
I'm just tired and it's hurts like hell.
Sending you lots of love. It's a terrible, inhumane situation. I'm really upset for you. If I could, I would be harassing all the people on the phone and marching into offices for you. When I've talked to my congressman's rep, I'm always saying, this is unacceptable, not just for me, but for everyone going through it. Just wanted to let you know, I'm probably one of many people on here pulling for you, battering at the injustice (at least mentally) with you, holding a vigil with you. And then throwing the hugest party for you when it all finally does come through. You probably already do this, but when I'm feeling the lowest, what brings me up is remembering the love and feeling so grateful for finding my love - even though he, very inconsiderately, was born in another country! :-)

When did you receive your NOA-1? Are you (mentally and financially) prepared to be in England for 7-8+ months with no job? That's how long things are taking these days.

I wonder if it's actually six weeks because of a policy change or is it temporary because of the unprecedented amount of petitions this year?
It says 2-4 weeks for NVC to process after receiving the petition.

I'm impressed you actually got information out of the reps. I've definitely asked things like that about how often they send the cases, and everyone I've asked has said they don't know.
Yeah, I've gotten a few sympathetic folks.

No. All visas go to the NVC and then to the embassy of the particular country.
