And this morning I woke up to action on my case 'we are producing your card and will mail it to you'! For EAD (and hopefully combo card). So happy I can go full steam ahead with the job hunt now!

    FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY!!!

We received notification today that our card is being processed!!!! After 147 days!

Now we we just have to wait till they mail it! That text message/email gave me and my husband such a huge sense of relief! He can finally work!

Thank you so much for this explanation. Like I said I couldn't find any answers. When I try to google it, the results only talk about how to apply for AP but that's not what I needed to know. Thanks again!

By the way the entry was super easy and they didn't even ask any questions. They gave my passport and EAD card back to my spouse and said "you are good to go" while I was in the restroom. 😁

If you applied for both at the same time, you will probably receive a combo card like this.  That's how I got mine a few years ago. And sometimes they don't update the status of both documents on the website.

Not weird at all......I live in Wisconsin, also traveled using my combo card to Chicago and never had issues. My travel review while using Combo Card is in my signature if you are interested.

Some gets mail, some gets emails. Give USCIS 5 full business days to wait for an update. For example, if you submitted the request on Monday July 30th, USCIS will very likely provide an update before Tuesday August 7th. If not, give them a call on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
I filed an request on 5/25, online update 5/31, received request for evidence on 6/8, submitted evidence 6/13, another online update 6/19, approved 6/25, received my card 6/30.

    Good luck

I guess it depends on what does it say in the offer letter.
I signed my offer without EAD on hand, but the offer I got is a contingency offer, means I could only start to work in the company when I have EAD on hand.

Exactly this is not a major worry. Some people like to post on VJ anything that comes close to mis-representation cause they assume most people are out to cheat and beat the system. It's a bit silly when it comes to professional jobs.

You are clearly going to highly sought position since its your "dream job forsee" just work with the hiring manager to get it all done however they want it done. If they want something signed so they can sleep at night that you will not interview next week, then as a big boy company they should be able to word it how they like. Companies have been known to pull offers if your "expedite request" gets dragged out so again if you want wording to let you sleep at night work with them on it.

PS, thank you for the kind words many people have provided similar help when I was totally confused myself. Have no issues passing it along to anyone who has a good job lined up. The faster we can all get EADs, work and pay taxes the better for everyone :). I highly doubt anyone at USCIS or senator/congressman would try to stop any of potential immigrant from being able to pay taxes tomorrow :D, its just they are super busy and overwhelmed.

Really the way it goes is that there is no ground to request an expedite based on pending job offer. The ground has to be one of the ones listed on their website, and then backed up by the fact that you have a pending job offer. This post helped me a ton so I would refer to that, it really explains the process in detail:

I only sent a copy of my job offer since that was the only thing they requested in their rfe letter, and a cover letter explaning why Financial hardship (with the obvious reason that I haven't been able to work for three months.. :)) My status changed to card being produced yesterday! I mailed my documents on 7/17 and dind't hear anything back, but had my congressman contact them last week. I think it's the best way to go. Good luck everyone!!

Finally I sent the response for RFE, they received it on Wednesday, 18th of July and updated my status for "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received" on Friday, 20th of July. So, now we are just waiting for update... Hopefully, it won't take too long*)

    Hi guys,

Today my case got updated to "Case is Ready for Interview" and stuff, so good news

I don't know if I told you guys, but after the InfoPass I sent a Police Clearance certificate from my country, since I asked the IO and he told me that could be helpful, and it should have arrived on Monday. (Thanks @Bfree3 for the idea, even though you were answering Holly-ando: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/665642-f2a-2018-aos-filers/?do=findComment&comment=9232762)

So, I'll just wait for everything to run its course again, because I did felt that my case was getting outside of the processing time.

Lesson learned from that: If your case has more than 75 business days pending without it getting an update from Fingerprints, try to do something to shake the tree, make an InfoPass, send an additional document, something, or ask for help in this forum even to get a few words of support. I do think that there is a connection between this update and the fact that I sent additional documentation and made an InfoPass on the previous days.

*Non-Immigration related update: The laptop magically fixed itself, summer is still packed with people visiting and activities, my parents are the next ones, so first my father-in-law, and now my wife's in-laws, we have here a summer-in-law.

Check the address written on your 765 reciept. I talked to tier 2 officer about fax issue and was told to send the evidence via mail to the address on 765 reciept.

    Guys,

I have been following this thread. I just wanted to share my experience about I 765 expedite request. I am currently on OPT, which expires on 08/07/2018 and my I-140 was approved in May, 2018. So, I decided to apply EAD through 485 not through STEM OPT. My category for EAD expedite is 'severe loss to a company and myself + possible medical emergency situation'. Here is my timeline below.

    * May 2018: I-140 approved
    * I-485/I-765/I-131 filed on 05/18/2018 (National Benefits Center)
    * I-765 expedite request by mail on 06/25/2018 (only including my I 765 application info)
    * I-765 expedite request by phone on 07/05/2018 (including my and spouse I 765 application info)
    * Senator's office submitted the request to USCIS on behalf of me on 07/06/2018 (including my and spouse I 765 application info)
    * USCIS requested an evidence via FAX (816-251-2290) for the expedite on 07/10/2018
    * I tried to fax at many different location (FEDEX, Libarary, etc) on 07/11/2018. No luck with FAX. I just mailed the evidence on 07/12/2018.
    * During 07/12/2018-07/13/2018, I used online FAX website to set a fax schedule with 20 min interval for a day. None of faxes went through. This fxxking FAX never answered.

Today 07/13/2018, I received USCIS response to senator's request from the senator's office. It says, 'USCIS will process the constituent's request ASAP'.

Then, I just got an update in USCIS my case 'New card is being produced'.  My spouse request for EAD also got approved at the same time. Provided that my mail with the evidence for the expedite is not delivered, I think Senator's office request made the difference. Hopefully, I get an EAD in my hand soon. Just wanted to thank you guys for the info in this thread.

No, that's the theory my wife and I have. And normally it should take more than a month or so, but things are a little delayed in the part where NVC received the case.

The officer actually said that the case looked normal, and nothing out of the ordinary.my theory was that it was either the security check or the NVC deal. I now doubt it is the security check.

I wanted to share to see if any of you filed for CP originally, and have already received the "ready for interview status".

WOAH!! Our Case Status just updated to "Card in Production"!!! We didn't receive any other updates since they sent the e-mail requesting evidence. We faxed on 6/27, and got the update today (14 days)!! It's like magic! Thank you for all the help on this thread! We seriously couldn't have made it without you all

    Update 7/2/2018

My combo card was delivered to the attorney's office! So this morning I drove to the office and got my combo card, then went straight to the Social security office. I spent only about 30-40 minutes in the office, waiting and processing name changes. The office told me that the new card will be delivered in 2 weeks and I have a receipt in hand for that. In addition, she told me the name change update will be finalized probably tomorrow so DMV will be able to verify the new name and information. It's an easy process to update your name at the social security office. They'd even provide you with interpreters on the phone at the spot if needed.

List of documents provided for name change of Social security card:
Previously issued social security card (if any)
    Combo card
    Marriage certificate
    Social Security Application form
    https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf

    The receipt includes following contents:
Information of the local social security office you visited
    Date of the visit
    Your full name and address
"This is a receipt to show that you applied for a social security card on MMDD, YYYY. You should have your card in about 2 weeks. Any document(s) you have submitted are being returned to you with this receipt."
"You can use your Social security card for work only if you have authorization from the Department of Homeland Security"
"If you do not receive your social security card within 2 weeks, please let us know. You may call, write, or visit any Social security office. If you visit an office, please bring this receipt with you. To protect your privacy, we will not disclose a social security number over the telephone."
"The Social Security Administration is required by law to limit replacement social security cards to three per year and ten per lifetime. Do not carry your social security card with you. Keep it in a safe location, not in your wallet."

    Next step:
I'm going to try my luck with DMV early morning tomorrow (Like I'll literally get there by 7 or something) since I don't have an appointment (I did make one 7/28...but I'd rather wait in line and get in done early).
I'm heading to the Embassy on Thursday (Wednesday is the Fourth of July!)
Once I've received updated social security card, driver's license and passport, I'll visit and call my banks to update my name on the bank accounts and credit cards.

Of course. All the documents were stapled together in 3 or 4 different piles. They were stapled in a weird order too but since they did it, I left it as is. Each paper has a time stamp. The first 2 pages of mine were crossed out an initialled. They also put my pictures in a plastic back and labeled them referring to each form and lastly they also took the fedex label of my package and put it with the package. They also include a green paper saying that you are allowed to re-submit the package and to put the green paper on top of your documents. So, I first put my check, the green paper, the 3 NOA's I received for the one and then the AOS package below.
I did exchange the i-864 Form because the form was close to expiring and I did not want a RFE for it.

I have read about a lot of people who submitted a complete whole new package but I already spent so much time making sure my original one was correct that I did not want to do that. Besides they stapled everything together and looked through it.
  24. Thanks

Try sending them the documents at the beginning of the office hours. Double-check the number to see if it's correct, and make sure to give them a call if nothing works.

I'd recommend using those faxing apps on the phone. They seem to be better at delivering fax than the traditional machines.

So I got approved today June 28th for my EAD  and AP but my card went in production since yesterday June 27th. My PD is February 02nd though DHS shows February 08th. Hang in there all the February filers. The end of the tunnel is pretty close guys. I think the wind of luck is now blowing in our direction! God bless us in this process!
