Did you apply the I-131 together with the I-765. If yes, the card is a combo card for both, and the tracking is with the I-765 receipt number.

No, i only filed for the travel document but this has it's own receipt number and it's not updated online uscis.gov yet!  However, i am not worried about it not being updated because i got the approval notice in the mail - i am just wondering how long it will likely take to receive the actual card now as i am hoping to travel this coming wkd.

    Appreciate your help!

  2. Yesterday i got my approval notice for I131 in the mail - says it was approved on February 4th! Just wondering how long it normally takes to recieve the actual card at the moment. I have tried to track it on the website but nothing is updated - still just says my case was received and is pending.

Appreciate any help on this question!

  3. We got a notification last wk to say our case was now being transferred to the Montreal Consulate and got the case #, we tracked it online and it is now showing as ready so i submitted packet 3. I got an email back saying that the case is not ready yet and i am not required to submit packet 3 yet - has this happened to anyone else? If so, do you resend it again or do i just wait now?

Hey berries! I'm getting a lil bit anxious about my flight next week, beneficiary speaking, since I'm unemployed and I'm currently living in my mother's home I don't have any ties to prove my intention to return. My plan is to take our 129 form copy, the noa1, his updated letter of intent to marry and my return flight receipt printed.

Do you guys think I'll be fine?

So a month ago I crossed the border to see my fiance and I didn't have a return flight ticket as I was driving home with a friend and I didn't get asked a single question about it...every situation can be different, so hard to know but thought I'd share that :)

No not a reason in itself but lack of passport stamps, boarding passes etc. can sometimes be a bit of a pain. If you included other solid evidence of having met in the past 2 years you are fine.

Okay, i get it - so the stamps are more just to prove that you have been there and met. I included lots of evidence of visiting so hopefully its all good :)

Best of Luck to September Filers..hopefully this is it and we all get approved within the next few wks! :):)

Another use said that under the Trump administration there has been a 40% increase in RFEs. I don't know how much truth there actually is to that but it is happening a lot. I'm kind of anticipating one since I live so close on the Canadian border to my fiance and travelled with NEXUS so I don't have passport stamps but I'm already prepared with ideas how to rectify it. Try not to worry too much about an RFE most of them are easy to correct.

Question on this...just out of interest, i cross the border more than once a month normally, and have always used NEXUS - is this really a reason we could get an RFE

I actually went in person to my local station to request it, but I was told by someone working there I had to fill out the online form first. I specified the division I wanted to pick it up from on the online form, and received an email it was ready 2 weeks later.

Oh ok - I'm not far from Toronto so it's probably the same for around here! Thanks again for the information :)

    No problem!

You can get your police check now or after your NOA2. I filled out an online form after receiving my NOA2, and it took about 2 weeks to process before I was able to pick it up (I live in Toronto).

Ok awesome - i will look into that this wk...I was thinking I would just go into the office and request it...but you say there is a form online?

I booked my interview in December 2017, and the earliest available interview was 3 weeks out. They also had the following month open (January 2018). So I would venture its in the 1-2 month range, with the possibility of more dates opening up with demand.

Personally, I moved my interview back twice to ensure I had all of my paperwork ready, so that may explain the variation as @KimchiLumpia said.

Thanks so much for this information - definitely helped. I've been hoping after waiting so long for our NOA2, we won't have a super long wait time for the interview.

Also, do I have to wait to get my police check until after I get my NOA2? Or can I get it now in preparation?

Those are estimates based on VJ info and tell us they have mainly gotten to August 5th. We have some awesome scanners/analysts that scan USCIS to get a better idea of where they actually are working at though and right now they have touched to Aug 17. But even those scans don't tell us everything because uscis doesnt update online a lot of the time

Oh awesome - i didn't realize that :) Our NOA1 is September 21st so still a little way to go yet but any progress is exciting...keep us updated on the approval dates :)

My Canadian wife (fiance at the time) received her packet 4 information and go-ahead to schedule her interview appointment online on March 9, 2017.  She was offered interview dates as early as 2 weeks and as late as 2 months out.  We wanted to make sure both of us could get the time off work to attend the interview in Montreal, so we gave ourselves a few extra weeks out and scheduled her interview on April 19, 2017.

I believe this is why you see such variance in timelines when Canadian couples receive their packet 4 information and are scheduled for their interview.

That's really helpful - thanks so much! So they normally give you some options rather than setting a date and hoping it works for you?

Depends on the country. For instance my fiancé in Morocco has to do it in the town where he was born. He has to drive an hour to the police station in that town to obtain a report. Pretty crazy

Wow - that is crazy . I was actually born in the UK but moved when i was 8 so i believe if i have read correctly i don't need to get anything from the UK- just where i have lived ever since i was 16... i will contact them tomorrow and hopefully they can do it for me. Feel sorry for him having to drive all that way just for that but hey, whatever it takes right? ;)

Check people’s timelines on VJ and see how long it took from NVC to interview.

Thanks for your reply - I have checked this and it seems to vary quite a lot- from 1-4 months so wasn't sure how accurate it was.
