  1. It looks like your CR-1 process went by quickly. I was thinking over a year at first but it looks like the majority people have it finished in under a year. I am glad I found this forum for sure. Super quick and helpful responses. I hope I was able to address others concerns as well. Her and I are looking forward to documenting the progress.

Just be careful man, she could be using you to get a Visa to the US. Just saying cause I don't want that on my conscience.

    Good luck.

  2. Sounds easy enough. I have one other question though and its about the DCF. Her and I have discussed the possibility of me just staying in the Philippines until she gets her green card. I read that I would have to get joint citizenship as well as be in the Philippines for at least 6 months before being eligible for this. If staying there longer than my planned 3 weeks will help expedite the process than for me its an option worth considering. If not than I have no problem continuing down the CR-1 path. Thanks again for such quick responses guys and gals. It means a lot. Its my future on the line here! (as you all well know ;) )

Can I ask one thing, cause after reading this plan of yours, honestly it sounds very very scary. This plan sounds like only someone barely 18 could make. My advice would be, just go and see her, do not marry her yet, cause chances are you'll make the biggest mistake of your young life. Then after you come back you'll make a better decision.

    Best wishes

  3. Thanks looky, it is helpful. Basically VJ is a big source of info that if we know how to use this, it will be helpful. Your knowledge over VJ is great and your optimistic encourages us definitely. Hope you will be approved soon.

Thanks Daylightvn, hope you will be approved soon also. Well I have dealt with VJ before so I've had the opportunity to learn a bit about this process. Well I've already settled on the idea that its going to take several months so I'm not going to let the wait get to me. Besides I know the effort will be worth a lifetime of what I have been fighting for! :D

  4. Looky: I read one of your posts mentioning CSC is processing November cases, where do you get that info.

I am filling at Nebraska but just want to understand how to get the info. I am following the thread about Nebraska filling and understand September filers are getting approved but still quite a lot of Nebraska September filers are till hang on there.

Hi Daylightvn, if you go to the top of the page, you'll see a 'Processing Times' tab. Click that and you'll see a column on the right that's titled 'Current Processing Times' scroll down to the section for I-130, IR1/CR!. There you will see dates for each of the service centers. Those dates are the NOA1 dates currently being processed.

Yes that information only means the initial petitions with that NOA1 date are being processed. There are laggard petitions, you know there are several workers working on those petitions so the petitions don't actually come out 'First come first served', at least not perfectly. Also some petitions will likely have issues to be resolved and also the Name Checks certainly vary in the amount of time to get done. So yes some petitions take a bit longer time to complete than others.

    Hope that helps.

  5. Hello everyone,

When and how do applications get transfered to different locations. Do we have to ask for a transfer or do they just do it themselves?? NSC is so stop that it's crazy lol. I'm still waiting on my NOA2

Everyone here, except for one who got NOA2s were special cases. They were not doing the normal IR1/CR1, they were doing DCF, direct consular filing processing. Meaning they essentially skipped normal USCIS processing because they lived abroad with their spouses, for at least 6 months or more, and in that case its much faster to get your NOA2.

The rest of us are still waiting the NOA2. Two months have passed so expect at least 3 more except for CSC which is running faster than the rest of the centers, right now. Unless luck falls upon you!

As far as I know transfers are random, and probably are selected randomly just to decrease the backlog at service centers.

All we can do is wait, we're almost half the way there.

  6. guys need help

i am confused regarding income requirements

i showed my parents as dependents on the tax form though they don't live with me

    so on i864 i will show household size of 4 ( me , wife, parents ) ?

also acc to i864p with household size of 4 i need to show income of $30000

i have an annual salary of $60000 . so i should be fine right ?

Just my take. You are way over the poverty guidelines. Part 5 item 5 of I-864 make your dependents part of your household, but you're still fine! You could even add 4 more dependents if you want! :)

  7. question for you guys,

my wife (USC) has lived in Ireland since 2012 we me. She has not filed US taxes since and has not been working here in ireland. I am the sole source of income of our family as my wife looks after our daughter. I take it when we go to do the AOS this will be a problem? What should we do? Ask her mother in the US to be sign the AOS and submit her tax returns? Really would like some advice on this as we are quite worried about it.

Hi Dub42, first assuming your wife had no sort of benifits or investment income coming or anything coming from the US, then I believe she wouldn't have to file back taxes in the US.

I haven't really looked into it too much, but I think she would have to fill out the I-864 and along with that her mother would have to fill out the I-864A as your wifes co-sponsor, and all the stuff that goes with those forms.

The official information on that is below, hope that helps.

    U.S. Sponsor Minimum Age Requirement

There is no minimum age for a U.S. sponsor (petitioner) to file a petition for a spouse. However, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a residence (domicile) in the U.S. before you can sign the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864 or I-864EZ). This form is required for an immigrant visa for a spouse and other relatives of U.S. sponsors.

Is Residence in the U.S. Required for the U.S. Sponsor?

Yes. As a U.S. sponsor/petitioner, you must maintain your principal residence (also called domicile) in the United States, which is where you plan to live for the foreseeable future. Living in the United States is required for a U.S. sponsor to file the Affidavit of Support, with few exceptions. To learn more, review the Affidavit of Support (I-864 or I-864EZ) Instructions

  8. Yep, my case is in the csc, and once more question for you, we seen the date of process of citizen tipe like IR1/CR1 on imeegration but I never seen which date is processing on F2A on imeegration , and when we check throw WAC number, we don't have any case status, what is that? And they can do this?

You mean the processing times. Well probably they just go with the visa types that are most popular, because to list all the F types and things would take to much space and complicate things. So I guess all I-130 processing just falls under IR1/CR1.

Case status updates are meaningless, and they just prompt more people calling them so they got rid of them on purpose, I bet. There's 3 states, case received, RFE, and case complete. At least 3 months between RECEIVED and RFE, if it happens. Then 1 month to Case Complete.

What really do you want to know between that time? Whatever it is they don't think you need to know.

  9. Hey, thanks for suggestions , but I though uscis goes to same process for citizen and green card holder, when they approved after that nvc hold by the prarity date,( I'm no sure, is my thinking) I talked with my friends who applay the F2A through i130, his I 130 take a 50 days for approve, and he got a visa within 6 month so, and my case the uscis did not change the status also they just put my case in the drower, ###### true, ??

I don't know maybe they go through the same queue. But when I say 5 months the official USCIS customer service does not care what service center you are at. They won't tell you anything about the status of your case until 6 months is over.

Yes your case is sitting somewhere, they'll get to it when the other cases on top of yours are processed.

But yeah the difference in time comes after NOA2. For IR1 / CR1 there are no visa quotas. F2A has visa quotas , I think, and priority date cutoffs on Visa availability.

  10. I got married last month January 8, 2016. I filed my taxes this month (my sister who is in US took care of it while am out of US), my taxes were files as SINGLE, she told me it's because those were taxes from last year wherein I was still single.

Should I have files as MARRIED filing separately or SINGLE was fine??

No you are fine you, were single last year. I just mentioned that cause that is the only place you would have had to mention your status as married. Other than of course the I-130

By the time you file next years taxes she will probably be with you, in the US, so she would have an SSN and you can file Married, hower you wish.

    Good luck!

  11. Hey, when our i130 going to be approved? I'm really quirious....it's almost two month, is boring to wait...

Don't know mkate. For IR1/CR1 @ CSC, they say I-130's are being processed with NOA1 dates of December 5.

If you're lucky you'll get your NOA2 by the end of the month. But remember you are F2A so your case may be in a different queue, and that December 5 date doesn't apply to you.

But then again its all just an estimate. If you were to ask USCIS they would ask you to call back at the end of June. Cause they would say wait the average of 5 months + 1 extra month and subtract the 2 months you've been waiting.

So the best estimate is it could be up to: 5 + 1 - 2 = 4. Hopefully I did my math right?

So I would say 1 to 4 months from now you'll get your NOA2. :D

  12. was wondering about the welcome letter too? Presume we can go ahead though without waiting for it? Once we have our case and invoice numbers?

I suppose you could except they say you'll have to wait for a week or so after your case was assiigned for the

DS-261 online form to be available, and same for the AOS fee. The IV fee is unlocked after they've approved your DS-261.

I'll just attach this link cause I can imagine people wanting to refer to it.

  13. Hi, Looky! Thank you so much for your concern. So i've asked some friends on a facebook group, their NOA2s also have no A# under the beneficiary box. And some said that you will find the beneficiary's A# on his/her visa.

Oh ok Deedah, I guess the process is changing. It probably makes sense because the A# is not needed until the Visa is approved. I had a K-1 approved in the past for my now wife. She had an A# on the NOA2. But we didn't follow up on the visa so that A# was basically abandoned. So to avoid using up the numbers in instances like that they probably wait till after the interview, I guess.

  14. Ours had an Alien # on them but that's because my DH already had a green card before many years. Not sure what the reason is. I don't think it's something I would personally stress about, though.

Ok well that's different he already had one from living in the US. But that number gets puts on the Visa and people will need it for AOS. I would want this issue fixed instead of the social security department deciding they can't give you a SSN cause you don't have a alien number, or 2 different A#s, one on one document and another on a different document. I would never put it past government to give you a headache. :D

  15. Hey everybody we've already found 2 NOA2s that didn't have the beneficiary's Alien Number on it!!!

Deedah and RJS7 don't have Alien Numbers in their NOA2 Beneficiary slot.

Is that how its suppose to be or is USCIS screwing it up?

So if people with NOA2s can respond yes or no to the question,

Does your beneficiary have an Alien Number assigned on your NOA2?

We can figure out what's going on???

    Thanks,

    Looky

  16. No alien number on my NOA2 and the space is blank on my NOA1.

Separately, when do NVC send out the welcome letter? I've yet to receive mine and also have gotten no email (I gave my email address when I rang earlier this month).

Hi RJS7, well from what I found from DeeDahs NOA1 and mine is that the NOA1 had the USCs A# that was obtained through naturalization to become USC. So if you are a natural born USC than you don't have an A# and so your NOA1 wouldn't have an A# on it, if that's the case.

Hmm for NVC I would just call them and ask about your welcome package again, they are east to deal with, plus you probably won't get the same person again so they won't even know you called before.

About the A# for the beneficiary, I'm a bit confused but maybe seeing other NOA2s may clear it up. I know for sure they used to put the beneficiaries A# on the NOA2 several years ago. But I think it wasn't necessary to have it done by USCIS. So maybe NVC does it now, I don't know but maybe one of us will find the answer.

So if any of the other people who got their NOA2s see this can you all tell us if your beneficiaries A# is on your NOA2, so we can try to figure this dilemma out.

    Thanks!

  17. I'm an LPR, just got married last month and I'd like to file I-130 ASAP. I know I can but I need to know if do I need to change my civil status first before filing or is it fine that I can change it later on?? Changing my bio info with SS and all other gov't agencies.

Coz I will be staying out of country for 2 more months, will be in the Philippines, and am planning to change my civil status from single to married when I get back to US. But I wanna file I-130 before I get back to US. Please let me know. Thanks.

For me, I think it's fine to file even if I haven't change my civil status in US agencies, but I just need someone else's confirmation from here that I'm right. Or at least let me know if I'm wrong.

Congratualations on your marriage! I filed I-130, and don't believe there's any such thing as having to declare your status. Just on your taxes you want to file as married and if your spouse is overseas you can check the 'Married Filing seperately" box. If she doesn't have an SSN, you can type 'NRA' (Non Resident Alien) but then you have to file through the mail, not e-file.

Cause for sure you don't want your taxes to say you are single!

But on your I-130 make sure your responses all indicate she is your wife and you are her husband like in question 17 where it asks about your relatives spouse, put down your name!

  18. Hi Looky!

Aw thanks for clarifying this for me, we got the letter also to confirm this status. The letter said that I (the benefactor) just receive further communication. This is the "welcome pack" right? Where then i can logon to a secure portal and make some payments, select my agent etc?

Thanks for your help on this, you guys are rockstars ;)

Well not really rockstars (speaking only for myself :) ) just passing the time!

I haven't got to that stage so I can't really say what the packet is called, but that sounds good to me!

But here is a good VJ guide that tells you all you have to do including very good examples. Basically its in the IR1/CR1 VJ section, NVC Guide and then click the link for the updated guide, which leads you to where the link below takes you to, just in case you want to know how to navigate your way to it.

I read it yesterday to get myself ready for when I get NOA2.

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

P.S. by the way in that link do click some of the little square links, like for DS-60 and 61 examples cause it takes you step by step through the online form.

  19. Hey mate, appreciate your reply. we seem to be in a very similar boat!

last comms i Have is from 13/01/2016:

On January 13, 2016, we approved your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number WACXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I guess this means we are waiting for NOA2 right? I am still getting used to all the related terminology here apologies!

What number did you ring at NVC and how long did it take to get through? What should I be asking them for?

Hi Dub42, it seems to me congratulations could be in order! If this was an NOA1 your status would have only said 'Case was Received'. But it says they approved your case so that would be NOA2. But since I haven't got NOA2 yet, I cannot verify that that's the wording, but I imagine it is!

I would think you would have got NOA1 in the mail already and should get NOA2 soon. But then I don't know how long it takes to get mail there. But what RJS7 said, call NVC for your case.

When you call NVC ask them if they have your case, they'll probably ask for both your names and birth dates and maybe your USCIS receipt number. NVC number is 603-334-0700, live people only during 8 - 12:30 EST time.

  20. Looky, I asked my husband to check his certificate. True enough, the A# in his certificate matched the A# in our NOA1 and NOA2. It is his A# and not mine

In our NOA2 under the Beneficiary box, only my name is written and no A#, why is that? Should I be worried?

Really we need somebody else to chime in and tell us whether they have an A# in the beneficiary box of the NOA2. I don't know if the process has changed and they you it at a later or you need to contact USCIS about it.

  21. Maybe it's my husband's A# and not mine? Lol! I tried asking him about his A# and he forgot what it is. He tried to look for his green card but later remembered that it has been disposed after he became a USC last November.

Nope, no mention about sending the case here in the Philippines.

Well for your husband his A# would still be on his USC naturalization certificate. I checked my NOA1 again and the A# is next to the I-130 Petitioner. So that would be me. But then are you sure that A# is the same one on the NOA2, for you the beneficiary?

Ok so I guess they just figure its getting sent to wherever the beneficiary lives.

P.S. There should be 2 columns on the NOA2, one for the petitioners A# and one for the beneficiaries A#.

    Thanks Deedah!
