LOL yeah, I grew up in Florida and also lived in New York and Texas so can do lots of funny accents, too!
:)
Well now thats really cool, you're gonna fit right in with us soophisticated American folk!
-
Dude. LOL. I don't hear people say 'dude' here in Israel - ever!
Well we's here got this hankerin for talkin funny like sometimes ya'll oughta give it a shot! Got it Dudette, urrr, I mean Maam.
-
Sorry dude all it means is at least one petition with that date got approved.
All it means is MAYBE soon.
-
My paririty date is December 14 so, is queries...
But what does priority date have to do with the NOA1 date. That chart is talking about NOA1 dates.
-
The visa journey show me the i130 on California open the file on dec13 2015, is right or wrong? Anybody know?
CSC started approving SOME petitions with NOA1 dates of December 13th but it does not mean all December 13th petition were approved. If thats what you mean?
-
Did I tell you I was born in Kilkenny, btw? We moved to Florida when I was 5! Almost all my family is still there in Ireland.
Oh ok, OOps! But in that case you are in Israel right now and you seem to not like it all and want to go back to the US. Hopefully I got that right.

Hi everyone. Just feeling a bit frustrated and impatient today because we have paid for the IV and AOS and filled out the IV app online. But took too long to ask for my husband's police certificate and now I can't send in the AOS package til we get it. It can take 3 weeks according to the woman at the police station. I have every other document we need (except his army record that I need translated and notarized but that should get done this week). And next week we have an appointment at the embassy to get my (foreign born to US citizen) son's birth certificate, passport and social security. So things are moving along but it's annoying to have to wait 3 weeks for this document. Boo hoo. I know a lot of you are waiting for stuff to happen, too. Some days are easier than others.
Hi Blanche yeah thats the part I was talking about before. Things that are completely out of your cotrol and nothing you can do but wait. Makes you feel crazy cause there's this new phase of your life that you're so eager to get to but you can't.
I can understand what Dub42 said about enjoying these things that you will rarely see again, but he is in his country, and your country the US, is where you want to get back to so its not quite the same.
Hopefully you can get your mind off of it, that's the only way I know to make time move faster!
-
Thanks kooky, I thought is going fast... Because December was all vacation of this month, people didnot have time to send i130, so hope is not going more than 15 days...I'm a dec 14 paririty date...
Priority date has to do with Visa availability after NVC doesn't it? Its your NOAi date is what the processing times on VJ are using.
But when it comes this close you never know, it could be tomorrow or a month or so from now, there's no telling cause its like rolling dice, flipping coins, or like predicting when the next bolt of lightning is going to hit!
-
So I still need to wait 60 days more.... I though we approved this month...
VJ says CSC is processing Nov 26 NOA1, So if it goes at that rate you may be done in a month. It strange how CSC slowed down so quickly.
-
Yes I just called USCIS and they told the same date. I told him that I saw on Visa journey that ppl with late October dates have started getting approved. He said that the September date means That Nebraska have completed every case that had a date before September 2.
Oh ok thanks for the info, Ms.F.Brown and Gryphon. Oh but that's a really terrible way, cause there are always extreme cases that take forever to process. So if the wait for every one with that NOA1 date you're always going to get a screwed up timeframe!
If you think, September 2, means it will take 4 months to make it to the end of December! I'd rather go with VJs way of doing it!
-
Processing time updated on uscis site..
But that's USCISs canned answer. If you file around now you might expect to be approved by September 2, 2015.!
First of all USCIS this is 2016
They're giving you their average expectation of 5+ months.

That is so true...and having gone through the K-1 process in 2010/2011, I have a lot of stuff saved up! "Oh look, this has BOTH our names on it! Give me that to put in the immigration envelope!" Guess how thick THAT envelope is...it's defying the laws of gravity at this point.
Hi JlovesA, yes it's funny how that evidence gather stuff, weighs on our minds especiially after being through working on the K-1 before. I was also doing the K-1 in 2011 and think I may have seen your username before. I have tons of documents saved up also, literally in boxes.
Unfortunately it won't be over even after getting to the US for the CR1, non DCF folks. In the US you need to gather evidence to get you SSN, work authorization and 2 year GC, etc. All for the Removal Of Conditions phase.
Its been quite a long road for people like you and I who've had some crazy issues that we've had to deal with. But we're going to get to that promised land this time!
-
For us, it only made sense to file ASAP. Why wait even more time?
I can't wait until this process is over. I went to Cirque Du Soleil last night and of course we took pictures, but in the back of my head I'm filing it away as something we could use to prove our ongoing marriage relationship. I'm tired of thinking like that lol
I'm sure you guys will avoid the RFE. 2 years by the time you get the interview and with ongoing evidence, shows a healthy, bona fide relationship (at least to me
)
Yes our minds are being forever brainwashed into gathering evidence. I can imagine 50 years from now and wanting to take pictures and collect receipts for evidence!
-
Oh yes! That range is crazy. Some days it will be early April to mid March and then other dayslate March to early June
I'm praying I don't get an RFE or a I 130 interview. My lawyer said I might, because we sent the petition out right after we got married (we've been together for 5 years, so it just made sense to send it then). I believe we sent strong evidence that paints a strong picture, so hopefully we'll get approved soon!
Yes, well it seems to me a lot of people on VJ submitted right after getting married. I guess the most important thing is to have evidence enough to show that you have a real marriage and there's no way they could say you got married just to get into the US.
So even the new evidence you have since you have been married is important for the interview. Proof of ongoing marriage relationship, is the term I've heard.
Well for my wife and I it'll be a little over 2 years that we've been married by the time of the interview, so I hope we avoided the possibility of an RFE, plus we get the IR1, which gives her a 10 year GC when she gets to the US.

LookyWhatIFound, I have a quick question about the processing times. Under the processing times tab for CSC it says that they are currently processing December 11th I-130. Do we know how accurate that is or does it depend on how people update their timelines?
Also, does anybody now what the USCIS actually does while their looking at out packets? Is it just going through and seeing how much evidence we have and over what time period/
Hi Ponjor, about the processing times its what Daylight and JFH said. I've checked my estimated approval times, at the bottom of my timeline, on several occasions mostly to see how bad it is, and the range they give you goes crazy. Also I've noticed on a lot of people who were approved their timeline has their NOA1date the same as the NOA2 date!
I'm not completely sure about the 'Historical Processing time graphs about each of the service centers. They seem to be more accurate. I don't know if at some points VJ can get info from USCIS on the service centers?
About what USCIS does with your petition. Well for a while it sits in a queue of petitions. There are several people working on the cases. The Cases they pull out are pulled on a first come first serve basis. Once one of them finally get to your case, they will check all your documents and your answers. If somethings are not right they will send an RFE to you for more evidence or to just correct something on one of your forms. Its not just about how much evidence you sent. Its about if all of it together paints an overall picture in their mind that your story fits with what they expect on an approved petition. They'll also do name checks.
If somewhere along the line they see some issues they need to resolve it may slow down your cases processing. That's my theory.
-
Hey, Thanks for feedback, my case is at Nebraska service center, and 5 months hmm I guess I still need to wait for it, I was going thru the forum and it looks like people from Nov are getting approval from Nebraska center.
I think you may have read the section for I-129F. Its October 20 something for I-130. The texas center is a month behind that. 2 months or less if luck is on your side!
-
December filer here too, did anyone got NOA2 for December? Just wondering where they are.
Hi Whatsulife, well the answer is sort of yes and no. Most people here doing a IR1 / CR1 here have not gotten NOA2 yet. Where they are somewhat depends on what service center your petition was sent to. The 3 letters of your case number is a code for the service center. They say the average time to process it is abut 5 months. The "processing Times" tab could give you some sort of idea about what date NOA1s are currenttly being processed.
Good luck!
-
If it helps, I saw someone from Nebraska with an October 29 filing date was approved yesterday. So they will be working on November soon.
My theory is that November and December will be smaller workloads due to Thanksgiving and the holidays (no one had time to put I-130s together and also the offices would have been closed for a few days) so they should process these months quicker, I think.
That's true, we could make up for the holiday delays from the front end.
But for my wife and I we've been pretty braced for the long haul so a month this way or that won't make a difference.
-
Hello all!
My NOA1 was 12/21/15 and while I know it will take at least 5 months, I've seen some approved in as little as 3 months!
Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone
I think I accidentally posted this twice but on they very last page. Ooops!
Hi Ponjor, welcome, it seems like several of us have that same NOA1 date. Most of the ones you've seen on this thread that have been approved in less than 3 months are actually people living abroad and filing from there. Its actually DCF, direct consular filing, basically bypassing USCIS.
The processing times vary a little bit depending on which service center your petition was sent to. California was processing very fast but it looks like it has slowed down from that blazing speed. Nebraska seems to be getting faster and Texas is about 3 weeks behind.
In any case we should all be getting NOA2, 2 or 3+ months from now. Good Luck!

Hi everyone. I'm just looking at the list of documents we need to submit to NVC for my husband's visa application and am wondering if we need to send copies of MY passport and my SON's passport? We are both US citizens but I haven't gotten him his US passport yet - working on that but it could take up to 6 weeks to process after we go to the embassy. I don't want to hold up my husband's visa application if I don't have to. I guess I need to read more. It says to include copies of birth cert's and passports of those intending on immigrating with him. We're US citizens, though, so we're not technically immigrating I'm thinking. What do you guys think? Thanks.
Hi Blanche that is a good question. When you sent the I-130 petition did you send in copies of your passport pages? I wouldn't think you would need to send NVC copies of USC passports. I mean you are only trying to get the IR1 for your husband.
Of course make sure you can get you sons US Passport in time for your trip.
It wouldn't hurt to call and ask someone at NVC. I guess Immigrating with him is the key sentence, like you said. But in any case if you don't give them it and they wanted it they would just tell you to give it to them.

I will call the consulate on Monday. I'm really nervous. I want to make it correctly. Nobody helps me at home, here. Even my husband >_<
Oh your husband is with you in Turkey? Well I'm sorry no one is helping you, I guess maybe not in hurry to get to US? I don't know how Ankara works, maybe they'll send you a packet telling you what forms they need from you or just a link. The consular section of the Embassy is what you want or the operator could hook you up to it. That's if the have a direct line for you to call.
Good luck

The K-3 was in Texas. So we haven't heard of them , nothing at all. On 8. Feb our I-130 was approved. So I think they closed K-3 in Texas. Because we haven't heard from them. But yesterday my husband got a letter from NVC saying about K-3. That's why I'm surprised. And I've checked the status on NVC website. It says my case is ready, so they will just give me the appointment. It's pretty surprisingggg i haven't expected this at all. O_O
Some smaller embassies will handle it dierectly. Did you try calling or email Ankarawith your case number and see if they received it yet?
-
Hey Looky thank you again for your answer
you're such a helpful person! I already read NVC process over and over again. But the reason why I got surprised is that I heard K-3 visa is not available now. It's not valid. So i didn't expect it. I'm surprised, of course I'd love to get K-3! So that means I will get the K-3 visa?? The letter says they now will forward the case to the consulate and the consulate will contact me and it also says our case number which starts ANK... Ankara is where my consulate is
HI Fatigo, thank you, oh these days I have a little bit extra time so for me it also gives me something to do.
The K-3 is valid but it was the timing which could make it useless. I mean if you get the K-3 approved before the CR1 then its useful otherwise if you get the CR1 before the K-3, you have the visa to go to the US so what good is the K-3?
But in your case since you got a ANK consulate case number I would think thats for interview at Ankara.
But which one got approved the I-130 or I-129f? Thats as far as my knowledge will take me. I don't know enough about the K-3 and which one just got approved?
-
Hey guys! So listen to this: I told you that my husband also applied for K-3 visa. So we didn't hear from them at all! You know on 8. Feb our I-130 was approved. Since it's very expensive to call from Turkey I couldn't call. And since my husband is stubborn and busy he hasn't called either. He said it's better to wait for the welcome letter. Because the mail from USCIS says so. So yesterday my husband received a mail from NVC but no the welcome letter. The date is 26 Jan! And it says that NVC received my I-129 and says they will forward the case to the consulate. It can take several weeks for consulate to process etc. So what's going on......... :[ :|
Hi Fatigo, Its not necessary to receive the Welcome letter to get started. NVC can give you your case number and INN number for the envoice fee. I am not at that stage so I don't know the details but you can use that info to access the CEAC site which gives you the status of your case.
I don't believe there is some deadline that you have to worry about, at least for a year.
But you filed for K-3, I thought that allowed for you to wait in the US, so I think you would want to check on that so you can wait in the US with your husband.
Here's a link to some good VJ info on what you need to do for NVC:

Hi JFH, I see no reason you wouldn't be able to use your sisters address. Someone on the Dec I-130 thread had this problem with her mail not going to Israel. So she uses her parents address in New York.
Only thing is you can't submit the address change until after 6 months of the last time you submitted it.
