Been a while since I've checked in. Busy getting ready to go to Cambodia for our Interview. Leaving today.

This is not the end but a THANK YOU to everyone who has shown love and encouragement on this site. It has definitely helped hardened my resolve to keep going no matter what.

A SPECIAL thanks to @Shoegum, @K+D, @hectorkhuon, @The Squirrel, @Naes and many others who have helped (and still help) us all along the way.

Until I return for the next phases of this journey...God's blessings be upon you.

Oh my gosh I haven’t been checking VJ lately but I am so happy for you. You and your fiancé deserve this so much! Congratulations!

    Hello ladies and gents,

My case finally arrived at the NVC. We have filled out the DS-160 and submitted it. Not sure what we are suppose to do next with the case number and invoice number. I was told that we wait until the US Embassy in Senegal,Dakar contacts my fiance. I was also told that I can set the interview up anf pay the visa fee. I cannot find where I can schedule the interview and pay the fee. Can someone help me or guide me in the right direct please?

I think your process may be similar to mine after you get your case number. I looked it up and this is the website for Senegal: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-sn/iv. You need to register for the website, once the embassy receives your case it will allow you to go further in the process. In my case, my fiance was able to pay the visa fee, once this was confirmed on the website I was able to schedule the interview online. I cannot say this is exactly how it will work for you, but it is worth a shot. I was told to wait for the embassy to contact me as well, good thing I didn't because the embassy received my fiance's case on October 26th, his interview is on December 5th, and I still haven't heard anything from the embassy! Hopefully this will work for you or this will at least be a bit helpful! Maybe you could also look on here for other couples who have gone through this embassy? I don't know how many there are though! Good Luck!!!

Hi everybody...trying to get back to life after the NOA2 shock in the most unexpected moment!

now my question is...who has the time/patience to tell me what should I do now?

I know every person has been asking for this, but the feeling I got so far is that I’ll have to wait about one month just for the NVC to get my case in hands, is that correct?

and all I can do is keeping calling them? 🤔

@Shoegum @Naes @Meech @K+D I know I can count on you guys...at least I know you probably already have a link ready to explain everything! 🤩

Looks like @Naes have you great information! Congratulations on NOA2!!!

    Thank you!!

Which one is the biodata page? I can't recall that sheet

Sorry I'm talking about the page of the passport with the passport holders information (photo, name, passport number, etc). Make sure to include this with the pages of the passport that contain the stamps. I initially just sent the pages with the stamps and my RFE was purely for not including this page of the passport!

But like @Naes had said in my RFE it said I should include many pieces of evidence which I included initially like boarding passes, flight itineraries etc. So I included everything I sent initially plus more.

I was exaggerating when i said everything. But it feels like everything. I sent alot of evidence.

Photos, itineraries, letters both his and mine and translated documents, his birth certificate, 2x2 passport photos, phone logs, text messages. The only thing i didnt add was the passport stamps. But you are saying to add even the blank ones??? Okay.

I know just how frustrating this is. I received a similar RFE, mine was for not including the biodata page with the pages of my passport with the visa entry/exit stamps among the loads of other evidence I sent initially. If you choose to send the passport stamps, make sure you also include the biodata page. I scanned mine cover to cover just to ensure they got what they wanted.

    Good luck!

What is NVC's number and when I call them, what do I say to them to see if they received my case?

The number is 603-334-0700. Follow the options. They will ask for your WAC number and let you know if the case is in their system. If they haven't received it they will tell you it can take up to 6 weeks. If they have received it they will ask you a few questions for identity verification like US citizen's name and the name and birth date of the beneficiary. Then they will give you the case number, invoice ID, and the beneficiary ID.

They are much nicer than USCIS customer service!

So I was born in South Africa and had most of the required vaccinations done there.

At 17 I moved to New Zealand. Somewhere along the line my record got lost.

Now I've been to my Dr with the vaccination list for US to do the titre test as I need a form to take to the lab,but it doesn't seem to test for them? How do O go about everything?

This is an image of what my Dr can send to the lab to request immunity of.

My fiancé just had his medical in Kenya he had no record. They only required him to get MMR, varicella, influenza, tetanus, and diphtheria.

@Shoegum sorry, my computer is acting weird and I think I messed up something in the title above "RFE sent back date"

@K+D did they reply to your RFE the same day they received it? How did they reply? Just saying on their site that it was received?

I'm glad you have finally heard something! I also had an RFE. Currently, my fiance is awaiting his interview for December 5th through the US Embassy in Kenya and has already gone through the medical. Since you are from Uganda you will also go through the Nairobi consulate and IOM in Nairobi. Let me know if you questions regarding the RFE or anything regarding the following steps related to the embassy!

Yes, that's exactly what I see, but where can I find at what time will I receive it at home?

the time it's the part I can't find

    thank you!!!

I apologize I didn't understand the question. I do not believe it will indicate the time it will be delivered. However, my post man semi-religiously delivers mail at around 12:30 PM. If you know when your mail is delivered, you can guess when it will show up that day.

  11. 5 minutes ago, Fiammetta said:

Thank you, we did that, I even got the app, but I can't find out where I can see the future coming mail and when it will get at our house.

WHere can I find those information about timing? I believe I don't need tracking number, since you probably didn't have one from USCIS, right?

Correct, no tracking numbers are involved. Since you just signed up you probably won’t have anything show up yet. But both the app and online should show each day of the week and will indicate the number of pieces of mail and also give an image of it. You will also get an email each morning that you have mail coming containing the images of the mail pieces.

Thank you! Just one more question...how did you know when the mail was coming?

You said " I left work early when I saw the RFE was coming in my informed delivery and had sent it off at the post office by 1:32 PM the same day it was delivered." What's an informed delivery? Knowing at least when is coming would be very helpful!

Thank you very much to take the time to explain to me your esperience! It's priceless!

Informed delivery is a service you can sigh up for online with the United States post office. They send you an email with images of the letters arriving in your mailbox that morning. I saw I was receiving something from USCIS so I knew the RFE was coming that day. I would highly recommend signing up for this service. Hope this helps!

@Shoegum the good news is you were right, this was my week and you made it to make it happen in the last day (so that my weekend won't suck too bad!)

Bad news, I got and RFE :(

So now I have billions of questions!!! Hope somebody want to answer to me even if probably these question were asked before many times:

    • How long it usually takes them to process the additional information we sent once they receive it?
    • Is there any way to know what they are asking for before we get the mail in the mailbox? (My fiancè called them right after we got the news and they said exactly what's written on the USCIS case status page. He asked to be transferred to a tier 2 and they said for now the tranfer are being blocked until Monday.)
    • Is there anything we can do to speed up this process?

The funny thing is even we got an RFE I still feel relieved theyactually touched our case and "we exist" in the scan!

I had the impression people were saying before in this forum that once they got RFE things were faster, is that true?

Any information that can help me right now is more than welcome, I want to spend the weekend knowinf avery possible thing and be ready to act next week as soon as we know what they want! :)

    This was my experience:

I received email notice of RFE: September 25th, 2017

I received the RFE in hand: September 28th, 2017

I sent the RFE response via priority express mail: September 28th, 2017

I received an update that USCIS had received my response: September 29th, 2017

    NOA2: October 10th, 2017

There is no way to find out about it in advance.

To speed things up overall there is nothing you can do but there are a few things to ensure that the RFE is processed and you receive you approval as quickly as possible :

    1. I would recommend going through your original petition to identify anything that could be your RFE. I did this and figured the only thing I could be getting an RFE for is for additional evidence that we had met even though I sent a ton of stuff originally so I compiled every single thing I had. I left work early when I saw the RFE was coming in my informed delivery and had sent it off at the post office by 1:32 PM the same day it was delivered.

    2. Send it priority express so that USCIS will receive it the next day, this will save you a couple of days. Also this allows you to track the package so you know they have received it.

    Best Wishes
