MRS T got a reaction from Love_HZ in Case Complete to Interview August 2018
Hello, I want to really thank you guys VJ family for helping me through this Journey. My husbands Visa was approved yesterday and he picked up his passport today…that said it was a very difficult process at the Embassy.
His interview was scheduled July 24th  He got to the Embassy at 7:30am and was called up for the interview at about 9am. The process started very normal with the CO asking him basic questions like who is the petitioner, how did you two meet, where does she live and so on, then he switched to asking him “When did you return from the U.S”  my husband told him he had never been to the U.S, he asked again, and he said the same thing. So the CO told my husband that if he continue lying his case will be jeopardized. My husband told him again he had Never been to the US, he then asked him if he Knew some guy(I don’t want to write his name here) My husband responded with YES, that guy had stolen my bag pack with all my documents in 2014. Apparently the guy tried to use his papers to apply for a visa, thank God my husband had filed a police report and also Emailed the U.S, French and British Embassies to alert them incase the guy tried to use his docs to travel to those countries.
At this Point the CO asked him more questions about me where does she work, how much I earn. And then gave him a piece of paper telling him he needs more evidence of our relationship specifically all our whatsapp communication since 2015 (which we honestly did not have2015 -2016 communications saved except for a few months in 2015 I had backed up).
We put together the following; I wrote a letter to the embassy and notarized explaining why we cant get all the conversations, and all the evidence we had provided for bonafide marriage, printed out all the whatsapp texts and call logs we had (they were over 3000 pages), printed more pictures, made more affidavits from friends and family, made a CD with videos, took the email my husband had written to the embassy when his docs were stolen, and returned yesterday 07/25.
The CO called him and asked him for the proves and out of the 3000 pages he only went over one, the letter I wrote and also the email that was sent to them about the stolen docs. Co asked who I stay with and to name all my siblings and where they stay, he did, and then he told him your visa is approved come back tomorrow.
When he left, they called him and said we need a co sponsor because I live with my siblings even though my income is more than twice the poverty limit, I have never claimed any of my siblings as dependents.  We went ahead and got a co sponsor last night and did all the paper work emailed to the embassy as requested and got the auto response from the embassy and this morning the status changed from administrative processing to Issued. But when my husband went back today to pick up the passport, he was informed they did not receive the email. He had to leave the embassy go print out all the forms for the co sponsor before he could get the passport and the visa, he was asked more questions about who is th co sponsor where they live etc. The order of his names were wrong on the visa but at this point he just wanted to get out of the embassy.
That is the story. Thank God even though we went through a lot the past 3 days, at the end the visa was approved and issued. His ticket is booked for aug 02.
Sorry for the long Explanation,  I can breathe now.
Wish everyone still waiting for interview date and those who are interviewing soon all the best.

    Hello VJers!

We had our interview on July 24th at Auckland, NZ. The petitioner (my wife) flew in to attend the interview and spend a couple of weeks here with me before I move. We arrived at the interview on time but we had forgotten to print out the interview letter! (But had all of our other documentation.) They let us in despite not having the letter, but we'd highly recommend printing it out and taking it with you.

We had to wait for about two hours. But when we were called up to the window, it was just two minutes until we had an approval!

Two days after the interview, the documents and passport/visa were couriered back to us. And we have a flight booked for August 4th!

Good luck to those that are waiting or have their interviews coming up!

And then gave him a piece of paper telling him he needs more evidence of our relationship specifically all our whatsapp communication since 2015 (which we honestly did not have 2015 -2016 communications saved except for a few months in 2015 I had backed up).

We got approved today! Thanks everyone for your help!

Had my appointment at 2 PM, arrived at 1:40 PM and got through security.

Around 2 PM, I was called to the first window. Since there's apparently a new CEAC system, I was told I was their test subject as I was the first to go through it at this embassy. So it took a while for them to check that all the documents were there, and they weren't sure whether they needed the originals or not. They did take them as well as the medical results.
Fingerprints were also taken there. All of this took about 30 minutes.

Then I waited a bit more and was called to a second window for the interview. Swore that everything in our file was the truth then was asked a few questions:
    - Who's in the US?
    - How did you meet?
    - When did you get married?
    - What does he do?
    - Does he have kids?
    - Have you ever lived together?

Didn't ask to see any paperwork or pictures. After that, the officer made me sign a paper saying I knew we had to apply for ROC in two years and gave me a copy.

The officer then checked the affidavit of support and tax returns. He then was confused about what documents to keep with the new system and asked a colleague who told him to give me back everything but the medical.

Lastly, he said that'd I should get my passport in a week and wished me good luck in the US!

So happy this is almost over! Exactly on the anniversary of us sending the petition!

MRS T reacted to R&OC in Case Complete to Interview August 2018
I had the interview this morning and got approved. Thank you all for your support over the last year. What a journey.

It definitely helped me to read all your advice. I am even more surprised that I really didn't get many questions asked - it was more like a conversation. The consular officer didnt want to see any additional documents such as pictures, letters, emails, text messages or anything at all. She asked me

    1. where and when we met for the first time
    2. Which year (I had only mentioned the month and date not year)
    3. When was the last time I had seen him
    4. She asked me how many biological children I had
    5. If they wanted to come along (my husband did not petition them because they do not want to come for now - they don't like to move and keep saying that they want to wait until my husbands military career is over)
    6. She commented that "this must be tough for you"
    7. She asked me how the stepchildren and my son and daughter get along
    8. She asked me how old they are.

I believe that is it. The hardest part was the wait time of almost two hours between handing over the original documents and the interview.

But I was totally nervous. The guy in front of me could not get approved now (I am not sure what happened). And I made my daughter one year older by accident as she is. Her and I were talking about her upcoming new school year and all the excitement laying ahead with her 9th birthday being part of it. Next thing you know is that I made her a year older than she should have been. I can totally see how people start forgetting things and mixing up dates and numbers alone. Although the visa was approved, I would have much preferred my husband to be there with me but he couldnt leave.

Oh -I forgot the link under which one can upload the documents and track the status. What happens next? How do I find out when I will get the passport back?

MRS T got a reaction from vistajones in Case Complete to Interview August 2018
