Okay well my evidence (scanned letter from fiance stating her intent to marry) has been sent. And word to the wise....
I went to FedEx and they told me they don't ship to PO boxes, which this evidence is sent to. So I had to detour to the post office. But for only about $6 USD they said it will be there by Monday. That's right, day after tomorrow. Or maybe Tuesday.
Dang, can't ask for better than that, especially since tomorrow is Sunday. And it's travelling from east coast to west coast.
Cool. Fingers crossed. Again....

The letter of Intent is fine to be scanned. No RFE's have been issued for wet signatures since 2013 when the requirements changed.
Save your money and scan away!
Unshakable Faith, I'm curious where you found that info about the requirements changing in 2013 and no RFE's for wet signatures? Might be helpful for all here to put this issue to rest.
Thanks !!

Okay I checked the 1-129F instructions and it mentions nothing about wet/original signature. And also something on visatutor that says a scanned signature is fine.
Guess I'll just send a scanned copy....

Yeah the notarized was just me being paranoid...it's not required.
I probably won't do it. Just after 5 months of waiting I don't anything to hang up on something small.
Better safe than sorry.

Yeah I just looked on another site and it says original signature.
Wow, thanks you saved me a lot of grief.

I am pretty sure and someone can correct me if wrong, but I believe that it needs to be a wet signature for her. She will need to send it to you, not email it.
Wow thanks. Never occurred to me. Maybe I'll even have her get it notarized and FedEx to me.

Well folks it turns out the RFE I received was solely because my fiance didn't specifically state in a letter her intent to marry me. I'm certain she included a history of relationship, but maybe it wasn't specific enough about intent.
So as soon as she wakes up and stops kicking herself (she's in the PI now and I'm in the US) she'll throw together a letter, email to me, and I'll print and FedEx this afternoon.
Wow, what a relief.

For some reason I thought I'd read here that the turn-around time from the USCIS receiving the evidence required in an RFE and the NOA2 approval might be only a few days. But I just saw a timeline where it was like a month? Is that what folks are experiencing? I sure hope not.

Okay, well Informed Delivery tells me I have the RFE coming this afternoon. I have no clue what extra info they might want. We had an agency in the Philippines review our application and make sure we had everything, but apparently we missed something. But we had stacks and stacks of evidence so maybe we just missed filling out a line in one of the forms. I hope....
Anyway, my timeline is:
Application Received by USCIS: March 30
NOA1 Date: April 19
RFE Sent: August 18
RFE Received: August 25
I'm hoping it's something quick that I can complete and run over to FedEx this afternoon or tomorrow.
By the way, it's my fiance's birthday next week, so we're praying the NOA2 is her birthday present.

Mike & Tuyen, I was 140 days until I finally got an online status update saying they sent out an RFE that day, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't tell you much if you call after 120 days. I think it depends on the person handling your case (if there is one yet) and how backed up they are.

So Keith and Monica, I'm happy for you that your RFE was a minor thing like that. I'm hoping mine is too. Expecting it to arrive mid-week hopefully.
I'm curious, I saw your fiance is from Philippines. Mine too. Did you have an agency assist you in the PI with your application? I did, and I'm kinda surprised I still got an RFE. But if it's something simple I'll give them a pass...

For those who have sent additional evidence, how long did it take from the time they received the evidence and the NOA2 was received?
And any ideas on what kind of stuff they might want? I even used a visa service in Philippines to help us, and gave them tons of evidence. Proof we lived together for a couple of years, finances no problem, intent to marry....
Geez.

Well I'm at day 141 now (NOA1 March 30), and no updates on anything.
But I do want to apologize to everyone...turns out I'm the guy who, no matter what line I get in at the supermarket, no matter how short it is, as soon as I get in that line it becomes the slowest, and everyone behind me has to wait. Maybe that's why we're all waiting.
But I am a bit heartened to hear that some folks have been already approved, just not notified yet.
In any case, some free advice...
The wait has been driving me crazy for the last few days, so last night I decided to just forget it, have a beer and not worry. I figured I'll check in once a day maybe, but put my mind on other stuff. Because a watched pot NEVER boils.
And believe me, I feel MUCH better

The government gives us a lot of extra money outside of our normal pay to help. They give money for housing and a little for food. If you live on the base then you dont pay for any utilities or the house, your housing money covers all that.
It is pretty nice in my opinion.
Starting out in the military gives pretty low pay....once you have been in a little while you make decent money.
Wow, 18 years. Thank you very much for your service.

The online status of USCIS seems working now, at least for us. We received text message notification one day after NOA2 date. Also, speaking with Tier 2 officer brought some luck to us. It could be a coincidence though.
Sent: March 30, 2017
Received: April 3, 2017
NOA1: April 6, 2017
NOA2: August 14, 2017
Text message notification: August 15, 2017
Hard copy of NOA2: August 17, 2017
So the first indication you received of an NOA2 was via text message? Did you have to sign up for that service, or did they just get the phone number from your application?
Thanks

Well today is day 140 since they received my application (March 30), and informed delivery says no mail today. And the USCIS status shows no change.
I can't imagine they're putting together an RFE since my application had to be 3" thick with tons of evidence.
BTW, I downloaded the USCIS app for Android, though I'm not sure it gives me much more information than the website status. Though it does give me a notice in the morning about status of some applications with similar numbers to mine. Not sure that means much...
-
Is the USCIS Status Check website usually up to date? Can I expect an approval to appear there first before I receive anything in the mail?

Hey all....
Hoping someone can give me some positive news, or at least some hope. Today is day 139 since they received my application (received March 30), and my NOA1 is dated April 19. I assume it took a while to transfer from Texas to California or something (19 days?).
Anyway, no NOA2 yet, and it's driving me nuts. My fiance is in the Philippines, and we're hoping this is the week. But every day my Informed Delivery shows nothing, and the USCIS website shows nothing. No RFE's. Nothing.
My receipt number ends in 93396, and I saw earlier in the thread that some 80000's have been approved.
Anyway, does anyone have any hopeful words? I'm not sure how to check which ones have been approved or where they are.
Thanks much.

I received status change notification that an RFE was sent on August 18. It travelled across the US and arrived here a week later (yesterday).
Prior to August 18 I heard nothing since I submitted the application in March.
