Has anyone had problems received the EAD card? My husband and I are 131 days in with no word of EAD. We did call recently and they told us we should've received some word. They told us within 30 days we should have the EAD card and now our status says "referral number ------, is currently not assigned for processing." It's so frustrating!

You should have it by now...did you raised a Service Request? Don't settle!!! You have to talk to someone in tier 2!

PS: Filling out your timeline usually help to answer some questions that you might have and it's also a way to "give back" to the website that help us all almost all the time as they can give other members a more accurate Processing time estimate.

    Please fill your timeline :D

You guys, I have wonderful news!!! I just got off the phone with a very nice and helpful immigration officer (Tier 2) and asked for the status of my EAD/AP application (PD: June 27th 2017). I told him that I submitted 2 SR’s and never got an answer. He told me that there’s no need to submit SR’s because my case got approved October 6th 2017. YAYYY!! He also told me that my EAD/AP card is in production and will be mailed soon. It should take a week. I AM SO HAPPY AND RELIEVED! I was just so worried because I never got status updates online. You guys don’t focus on the online updates, I know better now. I can’t wait to share the news with my husband, who’s sitting at the barber shop right now! :-D

    Great news!!! Congratulations!

I'm using k1 visa to come here , Can I leave USA while Advance Parole is processing , but after bio fingerprints ? And let my husband to send to me later after processed ?

Why don't you try an infopass appointment? There are many cases where the advance parole can be expedited (usually because of health issues or death) but if it's so important to you, give it a try, I saw that it's a family wedding right? take the invitation with you and everything that could possibly give you a chance of expediting and go to the office, I think it doesn't hurt to try.

    Good luck!

Hello everyone! I know this is a very different topic but my friend needs help. Is anyone of you here filing AOS from B2 visa? Do you have the copy of the requirements or cover letter? Please message me or post it here. Thank you! I'll greatly appreciate it.

I think that @ty15  did a great job with the list...I'm adjusting from a tourist visa myself and that's exactly what I sent...the only thing that I would say it's missing is the supplement part 7 of the I-131...All the documents and letter examples you can also find here on VJ following this link http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples/

    Good luck!

  4. Hi guys, I'm sorry for my absent lately but I have a bad tooth infection due to my wisdom teeth that decide to come out now and my husband need me all the time because of the accident, I just wanted to let you guys know that I just got my Social Security Card yesterday and I'm very happy for that, now we are working on putting me on his health care benefits...things are starting to look god! (except of my face that is very swollen :jest:)

    Latter guys!!!

  5. Hi, I also had my first package returned to me for the same reason but I was smart enough to have an exact copy of the application with all the supporting documents so all that I had to do was to replace the form and make a copy of the package that I already had...I would suggest to send a new package as for my experience it worked well and actually gave me the chance to look at everything again, I ended up finding some misspelling and other errors...I had no RFE or delays on my process so far and just received my EAD...just do not forget the green letter that you have to place on top of your application. :)

    Good luck!!!

I raised a service request for my EAD and they’re currently processing those who applied in April 2017 so I should be hearing soon. EAD is taking a lot longer than 90 days now.

I will not report them but I’m going to ring back and confirm what I was told and see what they say because I am all for following the law etc.

My priority date for AOS and EAD is June 14th and I've got my EAD about 2 weeks ago, so did most of the other June fillers...they are not processing April cases, take a look at VJ processing time and you'll see...something is wrong with your application.

I tried to check my case status online right now, but it’s showing some kind of error. Could it be they are doing a maintenance work? Can some pls try to check now and see if you can track your case. Meanwhile, I was told I will have a response for my EAD within 3 days.

Hello I just check the status of all of my cases and it seams to be okay...did you try to call USCIS they will tell you the status of your case on the phone without even having to talk to anyone.

My filling date was June 14 and I just got my EAD a little over a week ago, it should be done for you in a week or 2 based on your filling date...you're almost there!

    Good luck!

Wrong, if she is a Philippine citizen they might make her undergo CFO before they let her go to the USA.

Doesn't she would have to undergo CFO before she leaves the Philippine anyways? I mean, this is required for her to leave, not to arrive here, right? So how is that wrong? Her question was "Is it okay if I’ll have a flight directly from Singapore to Boston or do I need to come back from Philippines?"

Adjustment of Status (AOS) allows him to remain in the US while you wait for his papers but during this time, he can’t leave the US and he can’t work here. This path only works if you’re a USC and if he has no affairs to tend to before moving, such as home, car etc.

That's half true, he can actually leave the country and work if he apply for and as soon as he get his EAD/AP card and it would roughly take about 3 to 4 months after your application is accepted.

    Good luck!

Hello I want to ask for some help.

I will be visiting my family back in Singapore before I go US. So that’s Manila to Sg I’ll stay there for 3-5 days and then from Singapore I will fly to Boston. Is it okay if I’ll have a flight directly from Singapore to Boston or do I need to come back from Philippines?

    Thank you!!

I’m afraid there’s a restriction and they won’t allow me to fly from Singapore To boston.

Dear, it doesn't matter where you're flying from, if you have your Visa you're good to go.

    Good luck!

I think that is kind of extreme, to be honest.  We've just now been married for 5 years (also married in my mid-20s) and I really wouldn't mind a few months apart.    We love each other, but we are self contained people who can live without each other too.

I think that what @Meg&Andrew are trying to say is that she relate to the feeling that the OP have about been apart from her husband... The point here is everyone is different and I particularly believe that no one can judge if the way they feel is "extreme" or not, it sound to me like when you cry for something (whatever it is) and someone tell you that "there is no reason to cry"...for God sake, if you're crying is because deep inside there is enough reason!!! So have someone to tell you how you should feel about something (or someone for that matter) is just not fair (to say the least).

I started talking to my husband in 2010, we meet in person in 2012 and only now we managed to be together for good and to be quite honest we both survived but it was hard on me big time and I would NOT like to hear anyone say that the way I felt was "extreme" or "immature"...it wouldn't help me in anyway, just make me feel bad about something that I have absolutely no control over.

Just keep it in mind. :)

I am a Canadian and US citizen going to school in Canada. I recently got engaged to my long time girlfriend who is a Canadian and I was just offered a job in Idaho and wondering what the best course is to get her into the US with me? We are considering getting married in Canada and then file a K3 Visa or would it be best to file for the K1 and get married in the US? Also, can she come with me to the US as a visitor and then start the process in Idaho? We are worried that she will have to stay in Canada for months while the process plays out. We don't want to break any rules but would like to know what the most expedient path is and if she can cross the border as a Canadian citizen and live with me.

The fastest way would be the K1 and she could visit you during the process, the problem with the K1 is that she will have to stay out of the workforce from the time she arrive here on the K1 to the time she get her EAD so it depends on hoe long will take for you guys to get married after she arrive...the spouse visa in the other hand takes a little longer, but she get a green card as soon as she arrives here so she can work or go to school right then...it's just a matter of what will work best for you guys, but the K1 is definitely the one that's going to give you guys less time apart.

    Good luck!

Interesting, thanks I will look out for this, you just went on their website to find the coupon?

As soon as I decided in a couple of options I just googled "MD Now coupons" (MD Now is the name of the place where I did mine)...google as many as you can and see what you can find, some people are nice enough to give you this information themselves (like when you call for information just ask if they have any coupon that could be obtained online).

    Good luck girl!

  16. Hi! I agree with everything that @Marcelina said and all the advice that she gave, but thinking in the timeframe for the adjudication, I believe that the B2 is kind of pointless because if you start the application shortly after his arrival in America, almost 3 months will go by wile he is still here with you so you will really be apart for about 3 to 5 months and this is nothing compared to what most of us have been through after the first contact in person.

Good lucky and enjoy every single moment that you have with him with a very close eyes on how your son and him interact to each other because I guess this is going to be a very important part of this relationship.

PS. I don't think that it's wrong  (or immature for that matter) to think of him as a possible "daddy" to your son, you're in love with the guy and thinking about marrying him beside the fact that in the end of the day you're mother and your son should be a priority on your life and in your relationship. :)

Thank you for the reply, really appreciate it! Rearranging it would be quite the hassle. With this, I assume that we'd have to remove the outdated I-485 forms then?

I understand the point of sending the returned application as is, but I would suggest to make a new package, that's what I did when my first package was returned for the same reason as yours (outdated form), since I had a exact copy of my original submission it wasn't as hard and gave me the chance of reviewing all the information on the forms that I submitted (it was actually great as I found some typos and errors)...the only thing that I didn't replace from the original package was the check and money orders...as for my experience it was best and thank god my process is going smooth with any RFE (thank God)...whatever you decide to do I wish you the best of luck on your journey! :)

Hello. I just got the B2 visa, but in the Ds-160 form and in the interview I stated that I was going to go to the United States on December 16th to January 1st, but now my plans have changed, and I'll have more time to stay in the USA, and I'm planning to go on November 4th to January 1st. Do you think it can be a problem to change my arrival date? I'm about to buy the flight

There is no problem at all, when I got the interview for my B2 I was planning on coming here on January of 2013 and ended up coming September 2012...It's just formality, the date that you're going to travel is subject to many conditions that could change at any time.

    Good travels!

Yeah I wrote to and emailed my senator on Tuesday, still waiting for a reply.

I also spoke to a tier 2 who put in a request for the officer interviewing me to review the RFE.

And I have an infopass appointment on tuesday

I've now got the RFE saying if I don't send the medical by Nov 4th they will deny my case :( so the clock is ticking. I guess I'll have to book a medical appointment soon.

I really thought my interview date was going to be the end of this

Dear, when I was looking for a location to do my medical I also tried to find coupon and my exam went from $325.00 to $250.00 with the use of a $75.00 coupon....whatever is the place you choose to go with try to find coupons online and also call around 3 places to have the best price.

    Good luck!
