  1. Hi guys hope everyone enjoyed the Labor Day as much as I did. I was just wondering if anyone opened a service request for the I-765 as most of us are well over the 75 days needed to do so. 🤓

I did a service request Saturday night online and they say that they should get back to me by September 24th with an answer but I'm thinking about calling tomorrow to see if I can get some quicker answer. 😊 What do you guys think?

I can't wait to get a job....my savings are almost gone and I'm responsible for my moms health insurance in Brazil...I know that my husband would gladly pay for it if I have no money left (as he have been taking care of me without even thinking about it), but I just feel like this is my responsibility and I really don't want to ask him to send her this money. 😬

Hope everything goes faster and everybody have a wonderful night!

    Peace!!! 🙂

    Hi guys,
I had my interview today scheduled at 1:00 pm. We arrived there around 12:40pm. the parking was really bad and we had to walk a little to get to the building. We waited for couple of minutes. We were called around 1:35 pm, finished around 1:40ish. 😁

First set of questions are just all about basic questions in the new I-485 Parts 1-5 then Part 8 😊 Mine was an old form so first part of I-485 and G325A. Some questions asked were :
    • How do you like Ohio?
    • Who's living with you?
    • Who attended on your wedding?
Then after, she asked if I want to give other evidence that I want to include so I just gave her pictures. She kept the family picture (with our dog, she asked what's the name of our dog haha), wedding pictures, picture of me and my husband's family, a picture of me and my husband taken in Hawaii then a pic taken in Ohio. ❤️ She didn't ask my husband anything at all. 😂😂
She said we're recommended for approval and she'll final approved me at the end of the day. She explained that I'll be getting a 2 year one since we're married for less than a year.
God is soooo good! ❤️❤️ Just hoping to get an approval notification soon!

    Received date - June 19,2017
    Biometrics - July 12,2017
    Interview - August 28,2017
    Cleveland, Ohio

wow, that was fast!!! Lucky girl! Now the wait is over and you can start your life properly as soon as you get your GC.

All the best for you and your loved one!

Who else go for driving license while waiting on USCIS, please share your experience.

I'm adjusting from a tourist visa and my I-94 was expired since February 26, when I got my NOA1 I went to DMV with high hopes and it paid off, I spent about 1 hour and a half there (the lady that took me, wasn't sure of how to proceed with the expired I-94), affecter reading the procedures she realized that I could get the drivers license and that DMV would check my status with USCIS and for this reason I would not leave with my drivers license card, but with a provisory one. She explained that it would take up to 60 days to get my DL by mail but it actually took 44 days for the status of my DL change from "we are currently checking your legal status" to " Your card was printed and mailed...".

If you can't do it in one location, just try another one, if the lady that did my DL wasn't so nice and patient she would refuse me in a heart beat (a friend of hers actually told her to just stop the thing because my I-94 been expired I couldn't have a drivers lice no matter what)...she was determined to help me!.

    Good luck!

I had my biometrics appointment 35 days ago, but my online status is still "Fingerprint Fee Was Received". Is it normal for there to be this much wait between biometrics and "Interview is ready to be scheduled"? I see filers in the July thread going from biometrics appointment to interview ready to be scheduled in less time.

I'm on day 77 since PD and 56 days since fingerprint was done and no updates for me either...in this journey we have to be very patient and have a lot of faith...the secret is to try and do things that makes your mind get away of the thoughts...I'm doing so many little projects in my house lately, made myself a beautiful closet that would probably cost me about $2,500.00 if it was made by professionals and I made it all for less than $200.00 and it took me 2 weeks to complete the task (2 weeks not thinking about AOS :)), I'm a handy woman and I love to do this kind of things. By the time that I get my EAD and I can work my house will be exactly the way I want without breaking the bank!

Try to keep busy and you'll have your update in no time!

    Peace!!!

    Hey everyone!

Green Card Received & in hand!!!

It arrived today via USPS! Finally things will get a little easier for us from now on. Its been a long wait since I129F, although not as long like most people here who haven't received any news yet. But things will get processed soon everyone, just be a little more patient.

    Good luck friends! 😊

Congratulations!!!! Can't even imagine how happy you must be right now. Now you can really start your life without restrictions or worrying about bureaucracies and just be happy with your loved one.

Best of luck for the both of you!

I honestly dont think it will be a problem. if you get asked about it during the interview you can answer it but since you lived with your godmother`s and stayed at your mom`s house you resided on both addresses during that time. I would not worry about that much because when you apply for B1/B2 tourist visa you still go through background check etc. if it would have been a problem it would have came up at that point.

Thank you so much for your answer...I'm hoping that you're right and that it won't be a problem at all, all that I can say is the truth and the truth is that I was in fact kind of living in both places at the time, but anyways we'll see when my interview come...hopefully soon! 😊

    Again thank you!

  6. Hi guys, I'm a little concerned about some of the information that I gave when I filled my AOS application package. I'm adjusting from a Tourist Visa and at the time of filling for this Visa I was using my godmother's address for important purposes because it used to be a more reliable address (for getting mail and such) and also because she was having health problems for nearly 2 years and I was staying at her house most of the time to take care of her (I applied in 2012 and said I lived there since 2010). The problem is that when I filled the AOS I completely forgot about the address that I used for my Tourist Visa and said that I lived in the address where my mom live (that was actually my house) since 2010.

Is it going to be a problem? Will they think that I lied in my Tourist Visa or AOS application because of the conflicting information about my address between 2010 and 2012? I'm literally tricking out about it

Thank you in advance for you response!

    Hey guys!

Our I-485 Application to adjust status was APPROVED today at the INTERVIEW!!!!

    Field Office: Yakima WA USCIS

    Interview date: 08/15/2017

    Interview approved: 08/15/2017

It was really simple, nothing too complicated or to worry about really...I'm the petitioner, and I wasn't asked any questions at all which was weird. I was so prepared, I took every document listed on the interview NOA letter and more. I even took with me plenty of relationship evidence and even my marriage license. I wasnt asked for any of that nor did IO bothered to ask to see it. He only asked my husbands passport and my ID. IO asked my husband questions about the I-485 application previously submitted to make sure no important fact was left out. IO asked security clearance questions instead of relationship questions or dates.

    "Have you ever been arrested?"

"Have been involved in a gang, mafia, or been part of human trafficking?"

" Did you ever forced onto someon sexually?"

"Are you or been involved in the Military?"

"Have you had any conflict with any IO in the USA?

"Are you involved in espionage against the USA?

    " Have you operated firearms?"

    "Do you have children?"

Since my husband doesn't speak English and IO called an official approved interpreter to interpret for him. IO didn't want me to interpret the security clearance questions for obvious reasons. After that section of questions, I was able to interpret the rest of his questions to my husband. Then finally the moment of truth, he said everything submitted was properly completed and approved, that he would also approve our I-485 for his conditional green card. IO shook our hands and told us he would get his GC in less than 10 days, that my husband can start looking for a job and apply for his social security. I was like, oh officer, we have his SSN long time ago! He just laughed and said goodluck to both of us! Yayy!!! Then he said, oh yeah let me see your wedding pictures...(after he had already approved us) IO looked at a few and didnt even see all of them. He said that way I can noted it that I at least looked at them lol. Wierdo.

The moment I walked out the office and was getting in the car, I received a USCIS email and Text notification that the card was being ordered and its in production!!!!!

Congratulations to you both...it's great to see that things are really moving to us June fillers...best of lucky!!!

EXACTLY. My husband had to get 3(!) stitches in the ER one time and it cost a whopping $1000.

Lucky you, I spent one a half hour at a emergency room, beside medicine I only got a urine test and a ultrasound...they sent us a bill of almost $10,000.00 when I called and talked to someone the bill went down to  $2,500.00, but still crazy right? I can't even imagine how much a birth could cost 😳...

    Sure Gabi!

My case number starts with MSC and my biometric was in Yakima Washington state, still don't know where the interview will take place but I will update as soon as I get the letter.

Thank you!!! They usually send your case to the office that is nearest to your house, you can find your office here https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

    Good luck!!!

  11. To whom might concern, I'm here stating MY EXPERIENCE when filling for the same visa in the same country that the person is asking about, I used an invitation letter after a friend of mine DID THE SAME and got the visa approved as well, I never said that the letter is required, what I said is that the consul only asked me to handle her the letter and my prove of employment. I have no idea how it is done in other countries but I know plenty of cases in MY COUNTRY, that the invitation letter was used, the consul never told me that she was approving my visa because of the letter, but I also never heard of anyone IN MY COUNTRY that got denied because of same letter.

    Peace!

I don't know how many times this needs to be said. This site is for legal and correct advise, I suggest you all to do some reading, properly sourced reading, not internet mythology.

I thought the site was for exchange of experiences, if this is about "legal and correct advise", only lawyers and experienced paralegals should be allowed to reply to a thread here.

thanks so much< maybe ill make one and send it over to her, but she wont hand it in unless asked for..i think thats the best bet..

Make sure that the person that is signing the letter states that they will make sure that she doesn't overstay her visa, and that they send this letter and want her to visit because you want to repay the great hospitality that her and her family showed to you when you visited Brazil (describe your trip shortly), you also should start the letter like "To whom it might concern, me, Brad..., American citizen by birth..." (you should put your address and phone #, no SSN necessary), if you send me your e-mail address I can send you the letter that my husband sent me when I applied for my Tourist Visa.

    Good Luck!!!

    Thanks everyone for the input..

were gonna forget about the carta de invitación, ... my gf recieved all the info from 3rd party websites or forums saying it was a good thing...

    guess not.. thanks guys

I don't know we're people here at VJ are getting their information about Tourist Visa but your girlfriend IS RIGHT!

I got a invitation letter from my now husband (was a friend at the time) when I applied for a TOURIST VISA back in 2012 in BRAZIL. I brought with me a bunch of documents to "prove" the statements that I made when filling the application and the consul that interviewed me only asked me to handle her 2 of them, my my employment certificate and the "INVITATION LETTER".

Better then me trying to convince anyone about it, take a look in to the Rio de Janeiro American Consulate website and look for yourself SHE DOES HAVE TO PROVE THAT SHE HAVE ENOUGH TIES IN BRAZIL and she can't do this with documents.

    Hi, All!

Was curious how long before you received the interview notice on paper? We saw the notification online on July 20th, but so far no notice received at the mailing address.

    Will appreciate any thoughts.

    Thank you!

Depending on your case (K-1 for exemple) you could have your status changed from ready to be squeduled for an interview to "Green Card mailed" because some cases get a interview waiver, you just don't know how long it could take, could be a couple of weeks and could be a year 😳.

  15. 3 minutes ago, Jass said:

What is the difference of the case being handled at the NBC? I just checked mine and that's where it is

As far as I remember, your case is "ready to be squeduled to an interview" right? If your case is ready for an interview and is not transferred to the local office, you might get an interview waiver 😉 My case is also been processed at NBC and I understand that this is just a initial processing to make sure that you have all the documents necessary to make your case valid and then it's transferred to the local office where someone is going to be designated to analyze everything before your interview.

    Peace!

Hi.  I am getting all my documents ready to finally file!  We have been together since May 2012, engaged September 2013, (child in May 2013)  So I have A LOT of, pictures, messages, calls, plane tickets .... Would you suggest only submitting more recent things (ie, last 2 years)  I am afraid since we have been together such a long time, we will have so much front loading.  Anyone else in this postion?  Thanks in advance :)

I also met my husband in person for the first time in 2012 and was torn about what pictures to send for exemple, what I did was to send about 5 to 29 pictures of each year plus about 10 pictures of our wedding, I didn't send any e-mails or text messages as we could get a little "naughty" in those 😊 I send flight ticket of a trip we made together to Mexico and NY, passport stamps of arrival in the same destination together, checking account statements (last 3 months), affidavit of close friends saying that they know us as a couple and that they believe in our relationship as true love an companionship.

    Good luck!

    Hi everyone,

We are travelling overseas next month and my wife's green card removing condition application time window is conflicting with our travel plan.

I have couple questions to ask, any suggestion or point of view is highly appreciated.

    - Because we will be out of the country for over couple months, coming back couple days before her green card expired. should we send the application before we leave ( on August 21st ) knowing that we won't be able to receive the notice or attend the bio-metric fingerprints appointment ?

    - or is it still going to be ok to apply when we come back - still within the 90 days window- but a bit too late ?

    PS:

We already have a baby- 2 months old -  does it help the case when having babies together ?

    Please help,

I suggest to apply before going overseas and have someone taking care of your mail and resqueduling your appointment for later on when you come back, keep in mind that if you're coming back to the country "a couple of days before it expire" and you have to arrive here before it does! What if the airport get closed for weather conditions? You could get here after it expire and they won't let her in without a receipt of a ROC pending.

Cant you apply now? If the green card is expiring in about 3 months, you should be within the time frame.

    Peace! ✌️
