I am so glad you finally got your interview!!

Such a long time in coming. We started filed in July 2017 and finally have an interview on September 19!
This took an insane amount of time for us. But finally an end in sight! 

Yes he does have FMLA but he had already used up all those days this year. He had lost track and had been sick for like two weeks straight.  Thus the written warning.  Luckily he has a great lead right now to teach English online to Chinese kids from a reputable company. I also have a friend that does tech support for Apple from home that told me she could find out if they are hiring and get him in for that too. Right now he just wants to have a low stress part-time job.  I make enough to support us both so I am not worried about AOS or ROC due to that and a couple of his friends said they would be a joint sponsor if we needed because they adore me too. LOL
 
The reason is because they are teaching us so much information in such a short time that if we miss a day we would miss a huge part of our job. Luckily I am very healthy and I did talk to the supervisor of our training division and she told me that they would work it out if they had to with me due to the fact that they want me there. So I am not worried. I only have 5 more weeks now though and after that I can take time off if needed although they do not particularly like that until you graduate from the academy. I am working on good attendance because we get a raise after academy and we move to the floor on a team then. Its 3.5% raise and I am already paid well plus I get 10% differential pay from 7pm-10pm so that is nice.

When I say I am from a small village in Canada this is where I mean. This was taken last winter when I still lived there. 
 

OMG I just got a call today from the Friends of the Pikes Peak Library. I have an interview for a volunteer position at their Used Book Store in one of the libraries. I am sooo excited. I hope I get a volunteer job because I believe this will be a great stepping stone to a real job with the Pikes Peak Library District.  Also gives me connections for when I go for a real job.

WOOHOO Just got my NOA1 text and email for my AOS and EAD! I am officially stared the AOS process. WOOHOO!!!

My, now wife has arrived safely. Wedding was 12.6.17 .....  wow what a journey we all take to get this point... just the beginning. 
 

We responded within a couple of weeks. No idea why it took so long. Hopefully everything else goes smooth from here on in. It's been a long time in coming

I interviewed October 11th and got it the following Monday the 16th. I got notice October 12th with a tracking number.

Well change of plans.  We are gonna get married today the judge has an opening at Noon! He said it will be his bright spot in his morning after all the hearings he has today. So no witnesses. They are not needed in Colorado. lol So we are gonna go pick up our rings when the store opens and go out for lunch before heading back to the courthouse. The judge we picked is soooo nice. Has a great sense of humour. OMG I am getting married today!!!!!

Well Chris and I go meet with the judge who is to marry us bright and early at 8:30am. Basically its to discuss where and when and if we have a backup oh and pay him. lol So far the when is December 9th at 1pm and the where is Garden of the Gods in the location they call the Chapel. That is where Chris proposed to me. Garden of the Gods has 7 locations that are free, first come, first served as long as you have like only 25 guests or less and a short ceremony. Course being outside in December has its quirks even for Colorado Springs but so far it looks like a decent day and no snow in the forecast. Not that I would mind. It hasn't been cold here for me yet. Coloradians think its cold ha but this Canadian hasn't got used to this warmer fall/winter.
Later Chris has an appointment to get shots in his eyes. He has to go every 4 months for them as if he doesn't he will go blind. Its a complication with his Diabetes. When we get back I am gonna make soft pretzels and dip to take with us tonight for the potluck and games night at a friends of his. I have yet to meet these friends so hopefully I make a good impression. I am actually rather nervous but I should be ok. I don't mind meeting new people usually. I guess its because these friends keep hearing about me so I want to live up to what my fiance told them.
Tomorrow we head to Denver to help a friend of ours move. She is 70 years old and has no other family or many friends really. I met her online 15 years ago. We finally met in person last January when I went to visit Chris. I am her emergency contact and she asked me to be her executor of her will when she passes. I agreed because again she has nobody really. She lives in a seniors apartment that she dubs the 16 floor Senior Kindergarten. LOL She is only moving into another apartment there where she will pay less.  We are happy to be able to help her move. She is going to be my witness at the wedding.

So this is the second time my partner and I are filing the K-1. The first time was about 18 or 19 years ago, but we didn't follow through for reasons that are better left in the past. 
But its interesting to note that 18 years ago, we were approved in approx 2 and a half months.

Hmm I'm going to run a July scan tonight guys, just to see what's happening. I really hope this is the getting ready period.

I have been following and your story, being that your are a Manitoba girl and I am going through what you are, almost verbatuim! 
Everything seems to take so long, but at the same time, it's moving along fast! 

Oh not being able to work is driving me crazy. Hi all I was a March filer. I have been in the US with my fiance for a month now. We get married on the 9th of December. I told my fiance I feel like I am not contributing to the household. He said hun but you are you cook delicious meals for us. I said I suppose. He said I know I know you are bored. lol He makes enough no problem for us to both live on but still I hate not having my own money. I put in volunteer apps a few places and hope to hear back soon. Really would like to volunteer with the library system here since I was a librarian back home cause that would help especially if I apply for a job with them once I can work.
 
Hang in there you guys will get your NOA2's soon and then everything moves so fast. I got my NOA2 August 9th and interviewed October 11th and moved to the states October 28th.
