UktoTexas got a reaction from colin57 in September 2018 AOS Filers
I had my interview on Tuesday in Houston so here is my account of our experience of the interview. We arrived in good time , however we had quite a wait as it was very busy. Myself and my husband were both called through to be interviewed and I was asked for my EAD, marriage license. all birth certificates (we have 2 children together, both children were born in America) and all of our SSN cards and both of our passports. I had only taken my SSN card as I don't think it was requested for anyone else's. I apologised and said that I didn't have them with me. My husband knows his number and offered to tell the officer but he declined and said that he will look it up. I was then asked questions from the form we submitted. The interviewer asked my husband how we met, our address and the birth dates of our children. He was also asked him what my parents names are and if he had ever met them. I was then asked to name the state and city we had got married in, the wedding date and who attended. He asked me the date twice throughout the interview.
I was not asked to show any of the documents that I had prepared in my file that they ask for, such as the W-2's, pay stubs, proof of joint assets  or photos.
At the end he did his own photocopies of documents then said that he will review my case and if I don't receive any correspondence from him within the next 2 weeks I should expect to receive my green card within 4-8 weeks.
The interview was about 20 minutes long, he did not want to chat just direct answers and did not want any paper work unless he had requested it.  I had put some on his desk and he asked me to put it away.
We had also taken our youngest child who is 5 months old and I was holding him when we sat down , however I was asked to pass him to my husband to hold for the interview. Although the interview itself is not difficult, it is the intensity of it that makes it daunting.
Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. This has been a long journey.

We got to USCIS office in Irving, TX 30 minutes before appointment. By the time we went through security, and checked in it was interview time. The place was packed, but the office seemed organized. 30 minutes later we got called in by the officer.
She took us inside, and checked paper work. she then asked if we have any updated documents/joint assets we want to share. (I offered the latest IRS return, and couple of bills).
Officer then started asking how we met, and other I-485 questions (Are you a spy? Illegal gambling etc...)
The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes, and afterwards Officer said Congrats Y'all should expect the 2 Year Card within 4-8 weeks. When I asked if we can get a temporary Green Card Stamp in Passport, the officer said that we need to have urgent circumstances for that, and ask for an Info Pass.
Overall a Positive Experience, and a very professional Officer.
    Good Luck Y'all

    Hi Guys,

we finally got our interview letter and we are scheduled for the 2nd of May for our interview, just a quick question will it be safe to travel on a conditional green card to foreign country? I mean can they still have an obligation at the port of entry if your green card is conditional?

    Hi Everyone,
Just to keep people informed as to how the USCIS are working though the files,  A letter arrived today informing us that my AOS interview has been scheduled for April 16, 2019 in downtown Milwaukee, it was quite a shock to say the least as I only got my EAD card about 4 weeks ago and wasn't really expecting the interview before May since it is 174 days since we sent the paper work off and the average time is 256 days in MKE. hopefully everything will go ok.

We just got our notice in the mail today that Alex's interview is April 11. Apparently they updated on 3/5 but I didn't get the notification in email or text. We're flying right along.

We're a bit overwhelmed at how much we have to bring to the interview. Don't they have copies of all this stuff? Please it doesn't help that they switched Alex's birth certificate with another person's at the embassy in London!

Hello everybody, natural lurker here to share some information that might be helpful to the lovely community here.

We submitted our i-485 in mid to late September 2018 after our court marriage in early September. We are based in Los Angeles and just finished our Green Card interview this very morning (3/6/19, 5 month turnaround) at the San Bernardino USCIS Field Office. We are very happy to announce that they approved us on the spot and the case is updated to show that our Green Card is now being produced.

Although having applied for the AP/EAD card, there has been absolutely zero progress on that front... but we're relieved to know that we are finally finished with this long journey for now. So the absolute first thing I did after getting the news was to check for flight tickets to send my wife back to her family. So I do want to ask if it will be safe enough to go ahead and book it now before the card arrives. I'm looking to book 2-3 weeks out, judging on some of the timelines I've seen around here. The officer did say it might take up to 30 days, but regardless we feel blessed to have such a quick turnaround.

Much love to everyone in this community, I wish everyone the best of luck on their AOS!

Matt had his interview this afternoon in Pittsburgh. We left pretty sure that he was approved, without the IO outright saying it.
Within 15 minutes of our arrival home, I got an update- MATT IS APPROVED!

We never received his Social Security Card after he got his EAD in February, so at the suggestion of the IO, we’re going to go back to the local SSA office once Matt has his green card in hand. He doesn’t see any legitimate reason for them to not give him his card by now, and a green card will get them moving.

So thankful for this all to be over. ❤️

It really depends on your local USCIS office. My case status has said "ready to schedule for a interview" since the beginning of October.
I also learn something from another user RenataIzo.  He learned this information from an infopass session.

So when your "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" it doesn't mean that it's in your local office. It's still at the NBC or where you're applying from. Your local office will ask for an amount of cases for that day or week to conduct the interviews. That's when the NBC will send that certain amount of cases to your local office.
Even though it says "ready to be scheduled for an interview," means that it isn't at the local office yet, but it is in line to be sent. It is still unclear where your specific location is in line or when it will be sent. So, yes roughly anywhere from 10 months to 22 months

Hello guys. I am a September 2018 filer from Queens, New York. I just received my interview appointment  (first week of April). I was pleasantly surprised that we were scheduled very early. I  believe expediting the EAD helped because I had the EAD since October 2018.

Congrats on all EAD/AP approvals as to date. Like always, I hope this comes across as polite as possible- please if you have an updates/approvals from EAD/AP (if not already) would you mind updating your profiles? Just as you guys would expect from July/August filers... Gives us all months after you guys hope. Takes less than 3 minutes but makes a little difference. Thanks guys

Got an unexpected EAD/AP combo card in the mail today.

Not sure if I'm gonna have any use to it since my interview is in two weeks but at least I can finally get a drivers license and stop carrying my passport everywhere!
