For those that have worked on their Affidavit of support, and perhaps completed their interviews with no problems, would you please help me with the following:

    1) On page 2, part 2, question 7 - what would we say the relationship of  the beneficiary to us is- "fiance?" Or is this a "none" question.

    2) On page 3, part 3, question 8 - about mortgages and other debts. What exactly are they looking at as debt? Do I include my student loans (lol) and car payment in there? Or what...

    3) On page 4,  part 3, question 26- about submitting a visa application to USCIS. Is this a "None" answer? Or is this the place we list our beneficiary, and would the relationship to us be "fiance?"

    Thank you all! :D

If I remember well, that question asking about debts is about real estate as it says in the topic. I wouldn’t include student loans

WE HAVE A CASE NUMBER!!!!! I called NVC during my lunch break and they processed our petition today. No email or anything yet. But still!

Too all my fellow Junies, I am so sorry I haven't "been here". Life has been busy and chaotic. I am still pulling for you all! <3

Did you call uscis to send your petition or you just sat and waited?

congratulations! It was pretty fast compared to what I’be seen

We have the medical tomorrow. Kind of surreal but also just want to kill the time between now and our interview. I feel bad saying this here because we are ahead of most junies but it's still been 9 months since I've seen her and she can't visit me here until she gets her visa. We didn't expect this long of a wait!

In how many days after the approval from uscis you got the nvc case number?

US citizen :) Everything after the NVC is the beneficiary’s responsibility.

USC. They'll ask for both of your full names, the beneficiary's DOB, and your receipt number. At least they did with me. :)

I posted this in another thread about NVC, but since some people here are beginning to move onto that step, too, just thought I'd share:

I had a really positive experience with NVC last week. We were approaching 2 months since our NOA2 and hadn't heard anything, so I called NVC myself. I called around 6 or 6:30 local time (Eastern time) and did not have to wait for a representative. I selected the option from the automated menu for verifying if a case or mail has been received (can't remember exactly how it was worded, but I THINK it was Option 3). I spoke to a really nice young man named Hank who, as soon as I gave him the above details, immediately confirmed they'd received our information the day before and it would be forwarded to the embassy in Stockholm. He was very helpful and happy to answer my questions.

    Thank you guys!

I think it will be over a month then for them to receive my case:(

NOA1 June 8th NOA2 states it was approved January 16th.

It was just updated on the website. :)

Thank you all so much I've been a long time lurker on this site and will continue to be thoughtout this process. You have all been such a great support through this long wait.

Wishing you all the best! :D

    Congratulations!,,

I’m June 8 as well. Would you mind telling me your case number?

I see cases are being approved now even in July... so I am just confused on if an officer is actually working on the case or not... she said, “your case is still in processing and an officer is still working on it” and I asked, so it has been assigned to someone already, she said “yes, it’s assigned” then I asked, when was it assigned?” She responds “june 29th 2017” so then i ask her, “so cases are assigned as they are received?” She says “yes, the only thing you can do at this time is wait”

I’m a June 8 filer and was told my case was assigned on the beginning of December

The one (and probably only) advantage we have is that USCIS is a fee based and not a Government funded entity.  USCIS will continue to work even if there is a shutdown.  I'm not sure about NVC and I assume that ancillary services will be impacted.  So they will work but they may be slowed a bit...

Is there a big chance of the government shutdown happen?
