OutOfThisWorld got a reaction from Naes in I-129F MAY FILERS PART 2
When you mail order something, it comes with an invoice. Mail-order bride is no exception.
Just kidding.

Taking pictures in the luggage hall may be OK, I am not sure about that one.
Lots of people are on the phone while waiting for luggage and I have never seen anybody harassed about that.

You go through passport control (that is where POE happens), then collect luggage, then go through customs; then you can take pictures.

In the whole border crossing area usage of phones, cameras, or recording devices is prohibited; not K-1 visa specific.

You can take pictures after leaving the customs area.

Lol. No phones, or cameras, or recording devices are allowed in the POE area.

OutOfThisWorld reacted to PirateLiker in Fiance denied Tourist Visa in October. Mention August Meeting as Evidence?
Yes that's right. My fiance now doesn't smoke. And yes, she is a perfect, beautiful angel! OK, no one is perfect, but she is quite beautiful, hard working and smart. She would definitely be an asset to the US! In my humble, unbiased opinion:)

In Ukraine, "let me think" means "yes". "No" means "let me think." LOL
OP, she must be incredibly beautiful and/or charming, if you proposed after 13 days. Bring her in - it is good for the country. We need more beautiful and/or charming people.
And do not worry if she is a smoker. Everybody is a smoker in Ukraine. She will probably quit after she comes over and sees the price of cigarettes in the US. LOL

Great thank you. I had everything under control except the KEV-1 form.
Thanks to you we are not going to miss that one.
Let me know if Kyiv consulate requires anything emailed/sent to them before the interview (I do not believe they do).
DS-160 is confirmed. Police certificate, photos, other documents ready. MRV fee paid. Consular interview scheduled (medical --- two days before the interview).

We did not get any calls or emails from the consulate. We already scheduled the interview. Really struggling to understand what the Packet 3 is and whether I should worry that we did not get one.
The following instructions do not mention any packets.

Yes, that I have seen long ago. Thank you. Is that the current Packet 3?

OutOfThisWorld reacted to geowrian in Turning in I-129F Tomorrow, last minute questions!
What qualifies as a negotiable instrument is quite broad. A check just needs the account number, amount, signature, etc. As such, you can literally write a check on basically anything and it's valid. However, getting somebody to accept the check is definitely an issue, and the bank would likely use a substitute document to record it in their system (your napkin-check likely would not survive processing).
A check number is for assisting with record keeping. Many times starter checks (given by the bank) don't even include this.

Ours was received by the consulate on the 16th (today) as well.
I see on your timeline that you also received packet 3 today. Is it an email? From whom? What is in it?
Thanks.

I had a friend who paid his alimony on an old pair of his underwear...True story. It was accepted. All you need is the routing and account numbers and you can print or write your own checks.

The post office will give you the money order unfilled, it is your job to fill all the recipient and sender and address fields. You can leave the recipient address blank.
BTW, you are not required to order your checks from your bank, you can print them anywhere, such as from one of the check printing services. You could technically write your own check on a napkin, and it would still be legal (though good luck convincing anybody to accept such a check, LOL).

What is the point of Snapfish? If you want fancy paper - do not do that.
Print everything on standard letter-size paper, this will make your petition easier to handle with fewer chances of things getting lost.

You can use the online ones. Select immigration in the drop-down and it will tell you which ones to print.

OutOfThisWorld got a reaction from TNJ17 in Time is running out... Need advice
Oh, boy. You are just one of those people that ask for advice and then insist on going their own way, right?
- Do not plan a weeding or buy tickets until you have the visa in hand.
- I am going to plan a wedding.
- Do not have any kind of ceremony that may be mistaken for a wedding.
- I am going to have a ceremony.
- You do not need a lawyer; lawyers cannot make the case go faster.
- I am going to consult a lawyer.
You are a lost cause. But I am posting this for any new people that are reading this thread.
