  1. I finally received an email late yesterday night saying my card is being produced! I’m relieved I can finally work and travel. I got my biometrics done on feb 20ish so it has been a long wait. Is it a little greedy to say I hoped for the interview date instead? But oh well that’ll come in time with patience as well!

Good luck to everyone still waiting, praying it’ll come for you all soon too.

Just woke up to an email stating that there was an update on our case.  I logged into the DHS website and it was an update on EAD.  That case now states "We closed your case because you received a status or benefit in another way".  This must be the status update that our IO mentioned at the interview that would happen with EAD since we were likely going to receive the green card, which we did, before the EAD was produced.  I just wanted to update here that it looks like they are pushing further into February for EAD; if we had not already received the green card it looks like it would have been 142 days for EAD approval.

Hey I’ve just quickly caught up with this forum, what’s the dhs website? Can I get a link please. Thanks a lot!

Ps oh uscis case checker mine still still says an error :( just gotta wait patiently on

We sent ours in December 22nd. We never heard until January 2nd. Course we had holidays in there but yeah I am sure you will hear this week. Yay super glad you guys sent it in. :) How have things been?

Oh great to hear, did you have to do anything after the biometrics appointment? And things have been pretty well. It was my birthday yesterday so we went with his family for brunch to celebrate and he surprised with the newest MK bag - way too expensive but I love it. He’s in the process of interviewing with Fortune 500 companies so leaving nyc is out of the question for now( :(!!!) haha. I did some catch up reading yesterday on here and I’m so sorry to hear about the hardships you’re facing, I pray things get better for you and your husband <3

  4. Helloooo everyone, it's been a long time since I last came on.

Updates: I had my POE on December 1st :) and we got married January 1st as planned! I'll attempt to add a picture. We got married in NYC Botanical Garden- it was adorable. I applied for my ssn about 2 weeks ago so I should get it around this week. It was the most pain free thing I've done in this whole process hahaha

AOS!! I have a bunch of questions to all those who've applied. I've poked and researched around and

    1. What is the biometrics everyone keeps talking about

    2. Is it cheaper if we mail the I- 485, I-864, I-765, I-131 altogether? If so by how much?

    3.  the whole medical thing has me confused, the X-ray cd and vaccines and such

    4. @pajobra you mentioned something about  DS -.... I've forgotten what you said and what it's needed for but I panicked as well 😂 If you don't mind please remind me what it is

    Freak out over!

  5. Hoping for some insight from anyone.

I did my interview on October 11 in Montreal, but unfortunately forgot a document which I have since sent on the 16th if not the 17. Just wondering when will I hear back from the embassy? I know I should wait another week before reaching out to them but anyone got a clue about a situation like this?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Ps. @pajobra so exciting!!!

@theredcomet has good advice, along the lines of thinking of @Marzena & Stephen - Plus the requirements are more in line of 'past earnings are indicative of future earnings'.  I would treat this just as a break in your stride and continue on.  A 2nd I-134 gathered and run with it. :D

    Everything will workout!

I know its so frustrating sometimes.

Are you going to book an interview or just see how things go this next little while with getting cosponsor?

No I sent packet 3 on Thursday and still havnt heard anything.. not sure why I'm so "special" haha

Thank youuuu for your positive vibes and helpfulness!! And i think I'm going to sign up and see the interview situation first but I think we'll just hold off until he finds a job again, he's already done and interview today and has one for tomorrow. Companies are always looking to hire for his job so fingers crossed we get this sorted out by next week. It's an adventure in itself as we've decided we're open to relocating from NYC to mostly anywhere. I'll keep you updated and once again thanks!

ps. fingers crossed montreal hurrys tf up and emails you soon

oh no!!! I'm so sorry! I wonder what others have done in that case? it seems like it would be something that has had to have happened before! :(

I had the same thought so I tried looking into it but I haven't been able to find anything on it yet :( getting a bit - correction very, annoyed with this process and super irritated with his now old company. But this does mean yours should be getting updated soon if not already!!

What is all this packet business. I received absolutely nothing. Case went to Ready, I did my DS-160, scheduled my medical, completed readiness form, scheduled interview and paid the fee ?

I never sent anything in ? Am I missing something ?

Also, nice thing they do now in London at least, you are able to pick up your passport from selected location. One about 2 minutes walk from the office, so just chose that option, free of charge, instead of paying a courier.

After you receive your case # it varies greatly from country/ consulate. I'm not sure how it's done for UK maybe ask @GazLisa? He's all done with the paperwork part of the process. Sorry, I personally can't be of more help.

However for Canada, we have to submit Packet 3 via email which asks for the confirmation of the DS-160 being complete, a scanned copy of the checklist they email in packet 3, and bio part of your passport. Packet 3 is usually received late with snail mail so most just find the most current version of it online. :)

We sent in Packet 3 on July 19 and got Packet 4 on Jul 25 and scheduled the interview right away. I thought it was only going to be a day or 2 but had to keep waiting...and waiting... :(

Holy #######, Montreal needs to get it together!!!! I heard they were slow but that is sloth pace. This is supposed to be one of the fastest part of the process :( A little bummed out but hopeful they'll reply within a day or two still

CONGRATS!!!! are you doing your medical in Montreal as well? I am planning to stay there for the 7 or 8 days at least to get it done and bring it to the interview. I sent packet 3 via email today! and hoping for a response tomorrow *I hear that's how fast the turn around is.

Nooo. Originally that's what I planned since I didn't want to have to drive back to Toronto to pick it up, but @Nathan&Amy told me it's possible to get it couriered so I'm getting it done in Toronto next week or so hopefully - if they have availability. I'm getting a sense of relief and new panic at the same time ahahaa, and Montreal is really lovely you'll enjoy your week there !!
