We had our interview yesterday. We arrived 30 mins before. IO review all information on I485 with each one of us and ask us some questions about how we met, etc. Reviewed evidence and photos. IO gave us a letter that our interview was completed and they have to review it. It lasted about 30-40 mins. IO was very professional. About 4 hours later we received 2 TXT messages at the same time, the first one I 130 Petition for alien relative was completed and your case must be reviewed. The second one I 485, We ordered your new card and we will mail to the address you gave us. Not sure why I 130 hasn't been approved before the GC is being produced.

Wednesday at 8 am, going to be able to get that. Our wedding photos we picked to print though are having issues at our Walmart to print so not sure if we will get that.
Are you able to take your smartphone into the building or do you have to leave it in the car? Worried if we don't have hard copies of this to show now.
Go to any walgreens, cvs, they have this machines that you connect your phone or usb flash drive, select which pics you want and print them right away.

The same thing happened to us. Our new address had been confirmed many times, acknowledged on our online case status, etc. They still sent the interview notice to our old address. Make sure when you go to the interview you confirm your new address with the interviewing officer. When we did that, she said it had been updated everywhere except one spot. She changed it right then and there and thankfully the green card came to our current address.
Congrats!
I am planning on doing that, thanks.

We moved about 6 months ago, we both did change of address on I130 and I485, received confirmation, both letters and on the website history it shows that the change of address was completed. They sent this interview letter to our old address even though we did all this changes. Thank god that usps mail forwarding is still active after 6 months. I haven’t received it yet but I can see it on informed delivery for monday.

I received the txt notification of interview scheduled 9 days ago but I haven’t received letter as of today, nothing on informed delivery for today. I just called USCIS and an agent told me I would have to wait about a month so they can do something about it. By then we would probably miss the interview. She said that no information is available at this time. What can I do if letter is lost? How long does usually take for it to arrive?

Finally today our interview was scheduled, now we have to wait for the letter, I am guessing 3-4 weeks from now. This week EAD renewal reaches 6 months, I suppose they will not continue processing renewal. 17 months wait in Houston, TX. PD May 31st 2017.

Good luck! DPS did not help me with my expired license. We went twice ... they are not accepting extension letters.
I submitted my EAD/AP renewal documents 145 days ago ... so still waiting for a miracle to happen.
I just forgot the GC ... maybe by 2020 will get the interview 😂
Is your EAD or previous license expired? If so just go to the DPS and tell them You want to renew it as an applicant for adjustment of status. You have to go prepared, print this and take it with you https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/documents/verifyingLawfulPresence.pdf
This from is from their own website, on page 3 under category applicant for adjustment of status an acceptable document is the form 797 you received when they accepted your I485 form, not the EAD. If EAD is expired tell them that is expired but you want them to check on the SAVE system using your adjustment of status acceptance letter (797). They will do a quick check but they will have to do a second verification. Go home wait for the letter and once you have the letter go back to get your license. I did it the first time and I just did it again, I just received the letter from DPS telling me that they have verified my status. If they don’t know show them the print from that link and ask also to speak to a supervisor. They will try to turn you away but it is allowed under their own rules.

I am also in Houston ... my PD is April 2017 ... same status.
When you get your interview notice make a post I will do the same. My license will expire this thursday, I am still waiting on EAD renewal. I applied for license renewal and checked the save system and I actually have to wait until it’s expired. I have to go back on friday once is expired so they can issue anothe license for another year.

Hi everyone, I’m sooo glad I found this group. I am in Houston and I started my AOS April 2017.
When I try to check my case I-485 online. It says.
At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case.
has anyone got this before.
I am in Houston too, it seems they are working on December 2016. My PD is on May 2017.

I hope it’s as simple as that. I don’t really trust USCIS new time frame report much more than the old one, because the numbers seem to change dramatically every month for many if not all local offices. I also know personally of more than one case where USCIS misplaced or misreported a file, so just quietly waiting 30.5 months while trusting the system doesn’t seem very prudent. If anything, it looks like they are only processing employment-based applications and ignoring family-based, because the employment- time estimates seem to get shorter every month while the family-based numbers keep getting longer.
We are now on day 458 waiting for our pending I-485. I only know of one other couple who applied in Houston the same time we did (last week of April). They are still waiting too, but they had an RFE and forgot to include the I-131 and I-765, and mistakes always mean delays. We also had friends apply in Dallas, TX and Bakersfield, CA in April, 2017. They got their green cards a year ago. I do feel like the fact we moved from Dallas to Houston a few months before applying was terribly unfortunate.
Anyway, it seems the big fires for us are down to a smolder for now, so we will go back to waiting for another 6 months.
Other cities/offices have less immigrants and their processing time is shorter. Houston is one of the cities with the longest waiting time. Hopefully we will all get our interviews soon. Let me know if anything changes and I will do the same. EAD expires in September, applied for EAD renewal in May.

Today, I called the help desk in advance of our Infopass appointment, so that I could at least say I tried. After several tries and a lot of waiting on hold and being disconnected while on hold, I finally reached a Level 1 representative. She was adamant that our case is still in the normal processing time frame, since it has been less than 30 months since we applied.
The automated system says that our case file is currently in Lee's Summit, Missouri. From my perspective, this seems to indicate a problem, since 1) the online status page says our case has been in "scheduling your interview" status for over a year, and 2) I would expect interviews to be scheduled in the office where they will occur (Houston, Texas, not Lee's Summit, Missouri). I tried to insist that this seems to be a problem and that I'm concerned our case was lost, but the representative stood her ground and would only suggest that we get an Infopass appointment if we believe there's a problem with our case.
I also talked to her about the EAD renewal that was filed 120 days ago. She said that USCIS is currently taking 7 months to process EAD applications, so it will be a few more months before they get to ours. I told her that we are very concerned about my wife losing her job because USCIS is backed up and asked if there is a way we could get a temporary extension while we wait for USCIS to make a decision. She referred me to their Automatic 180-day Extension policy on the USCIS web site, saying that the employer has the option of accepting the combination of the expired EAD document and timely I-797 receipt notice as evidence of her authorization to work (for another 180 days).
We have been waiting since May 2017 in Houston TX too and I know at least 2 more people who applied many months before we did and are still waiting. Houston has a long waiting line compare to other cities. It is how it is now days. I would start worrying after people that applied after you in Houston get their interviews before you. It can take up to 30.5 months now.

unfortunately I went to the DPS office 2 weeks ago and they refused the NOA1 + 180 say extension. They said only EAD card is accepted to renew driver's.
I felt so sad and cried a lot since I am now pregnant and feeling sensitive. I need to drive to office and hospital to my appointments. My husband was with me and they did not care the extension. DPS in highway 3 in Houston.
I called USCIS and they said that the timing to get the EAD renewal is 4-6 months ... it used to take 90 days. This is crazy.
Take the original NOA1 for I485 and take your passport. Pending applicants for asjustment of status are allowed to get a drivers license under DPS regulations. That’s how I got a year drivers license without EAD. They will have to do a second verification on the save system. You will have to go home and wait about a week for a letter and then you take it back to the DPS and they will issue the DL.
https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/documents/verifyingLawfulPresence.pdf
Look on page 3 under aplicants for adjustment of status. Read it all, print it and take it with you. They turn me away and I showed them I was elegible and then they allowed me to get it.

When did you get the 797 notice? Is this the original one? Thanks.
Not the original, once you send the renewal package you get a new 797 around 12 days later with EAD extension as long as you have a pending adjustment of status. Even though EAD is extended with that 797 notice, I tried renewing drivers license and they told me that it is valid only until original experation date. They can still approve it for another year as long as you use your passport and 797 from pending I 485.

Hi there. Did you end up sending in you EAD renewal? Have you heard anything about EAD or an interview yet?
We did about a month ago and received notice that they will use same biometric information. EAD expires in September. Hopefully they will approve it before but just in case the 797 notice of action states that C09 category automatically extends EAD 180 days. Here in Houston is taking up to 30 months. In the website status is stil on fingerprint fee was received but on https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov status is we are scheduling your interview at this moment you don’t need to do anything.

I wish I can get the interview for Green Card before 2020 . I submitted my papers 14 months ago. 1 year ago my status changed to "Interview to be schedule ...". I am in Houston and now the process could take till 28 months ...
We submitted almost 13 months ago also in Houston, haven’t heard anything. My husband has a coworker that is like 3 months ahead of us and also nothing. Just recently sent EAD renewal.

I sent a new i765, i131. Copy of front and back of my current EAD, copy of passport, copy of my i797 showing pending i485 and the barcode that I got with my original EAD which is supposedly for 'faster renewal'
Funnily enough just this evening I got an email from USCIS only 9 months late saying they delivered my EAD 😂
We also sent renewal for i765 about 3 weeks ago and last night I received a txt and email for an update on our case, the update was usps delivered EAD on September. For a moment I thought Interview has been scheduled. I guess we have to continue to wait.

Thank you. This gives me hope! Its a USCIS envelope as well. Someone told me you get EAD in first class priority mail so wanted to confirm. Mailman comes in the next half an hour. I am going to go and stand there! lol
When we got the approval letter in mail, online status changed a week after!
I didn’t get an envelope, I got first class priority mail and it was processed by nbc, but maybe since your case is different maybe they used a different mailing option. Good luck!

It’s been 238 days since we submitted our I-485 packet. the status is still “Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.” Trying to be patient.
who else is in the same boat? Who here are in the Northern Virginia/DC area?
anyway, congratulations to everyone who have received their conditional GCs!!
I think the majority is in the same boat, however we are still at fingerprint fee was received. Processing time is over a year, so probably after june of this year. I received the EAD back in September so 3 months before I am planning on send the renewal just in case. Since processing time is over a year now they should send EADs valid for 2 years. It saves them money.

I went to Social Security Office yesterday. I previously had a SSN not valid for employment so I just needed to change the legend to valid for employment. They only requested my Drivers License or passport and my EAD. It took less than 5 mins and I was out with receipt. It’s supposed to arrive by mail in 2 weeks but I think it should take about a week. I think if someone is going to apply for SSN for the first time, you have to take Passport, EAD and birth certificate with legal translation (take the original that you use to send package).
Stamp or no stamp on Passport?

Sometimes they recommend it for approval and it takes over a week to get the approval and sometimes they say they have to review it and they can’t take a decision yet and within hours you get the approval.
