They received my i765 may 23rd, I did a sr which was completed yesterday so I am now waiting for a reply from them. Did you do any service request?
I actually did one yesterday, it was a SR based on those affected by hurricane Harvey, I received 3 case changes, first that it was assigned to an officer for review, second that they sent a response and third that it was completed. That was yesterday but nothing has changed after that, case still is on we received your application. Did yours changed and how long until it did?
-
I called this morning and submited a service request over the phone and they gave me a receipt number. I've seen people here able to check the status of their SRs, how do I do that?
-
Just found out on the website that due to the hurricane in Texas those living in the affected areas could:
"Expedited adjudication of employment authorization applications, where appropriate."
We live in Houston, I will try calling the number provided. If anyone else is also living in the area it might be worth trying.

My pd was May 2nd...still no word on my EAD...hope u don't have to wait as long
Wow yours is 122 days or 4 months, why is it taking so long? Their processing time supposedly is 90 days, which has double in the last 3 or 4 years.

No I didn't, I am going to see how long is it going to take with no SR

My PD is May 31st, so we should be one of the lasts to receive EAD in this post, are any other May filers still waiting for EAD?

http://www.davismiles.com/in-person-interviews-to-get-a-green-card/
"Welcome to a new world. On August 28, 2017, USCIS issued a press release that describes the expansion of categories that will require in-person interviews to obtain a green card. The expansion includes green card applicants in employment based categories and relative petitions for refugees and asylees."
"An AOS applicant should expect the time frame to get a green card to be extended."
Ahh, Ohh...
Well, at least we are in line already, I am sure it will affect those who apply in coming months...

Me too, other than a "RFIE received", nothing has changed from May 31th.
No RFIE or RFE, hoping to hear something soon, since we reached processing time. Let me know if anything changes, I will do the same!

Just reached day 90, I haven't done SR or anything other than wait and check on this forum once in a while. The status is still the same, they received 485/130/765, no other changes like case ready to be scheduled for interview like so many people that filed after me already have. Will wait 10 more days and if no changes I will submit a SR.

Just letting ya'll know the new update for our expedite EAD timeline.
7/3 Priority Date
8/1 (Day 29) - Biometrics Appointment in San Francisco, Received Job Offer letter
8/8 (Day 36) - Submitted Expedite Request via Phone and separate one to Congresswoman's office with all supporting documents
8/11 (Day 39) - Updated online as Expedite Request Reviewed and Completed
8/16 (Day 44) - Congresswoman's office called to say we were approved and to expect the card within 2 weeks
8/23 (Day 51) Updated online as Card in Production (only I-765, I-131 did not update)
As you can see, the expediting process seems to take about 3+ weeks in total right now.
Hope this helps others in dire need of an EAD/AP expedite. Praying that precious card gets here safely! *Anxiety*
Good luck to everyone is waiting. Congrats to those who have their interviews waiting to be scheduled already!!!
Everyone need EAD right away, those who expedite EAD jump ahead of the line and make others that apply before you have to wait longer.

23 days after biometric and no update yet. I went for my driver's permit test yesterday, but was unable to take the test because my status is still pending. The driving department said they will send a letter to USCIS for update, after which I will be able to take the test. The wait is just fustrating.
Who else go for driving license while waiting on USCIS, please share your experience.
Of course your status is still pending, once it's approved then you get the green card immediately. Anyone with pending Adjustment of Status application has legal status. And you are in Texas like me, I went to the DPS same day I did biometrics and I have Drivers License in hand.

We live in North Carolina - they refuse to issue a drivers license without I-94, EAD or GC. So we have to wait...
North Carolina might have different regulations but I will advise you to go to the drivers license website in your state and read carefully what are the requeriments because staff are normally not well trained and it's easier for them to say no if they don't know.

Good news, I woke up today to a notification that a new card is being produced! After 109 days, so happy!
Here in California you need at least the EAD to get a license unfortunately
I've been using buses but unlike back home, they're super inconvenient. I can't wait to get a car although driving here terrifies me
In California undocumented can get a license, it's state law.

Oh trust me I have took it with me cause I know them too well. They even showed me a document of their own saying This doesn't grant me any immigration status and I need an approval notice. As I said, I have no faith in this system. I even went for a new SSC with my EAD and told me I have to wait 5 weeks ..
be careful with the storm! God bless u
Sorry that you are having so much trouble, come to Houston and do it here. It says pending not approved, an approved adjustment of status application will grant you a green card, why would you apply as an adjustment of status applicant if you can apply as resident? The moment you go to the interview and they approve it and they sent you a letter of approval it will contain the green card inside. You have to tell them that you need them to verify your status on the SAVE system, it is your right, you also have to tell them that you have full legal status and you need them to verify it with your passport number or alien number. Ask for a supervisor. Be carefull this weekend too!

Which city in Texas are you? I am in waco tried applying for DL in gatesville, Temple and Waco since I read you could on the website... they all rejected me saying I have to have an approval notice not a regular NOA1. Now I have an EAD card and they say I can apply. But honestly I have no faith in this system anymore
Houston, you have to go prepared, check this link https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/documents/verifyingLawfulPresence.pdf is from DPS and shows who is allowed to apply based on lawful status. On the 3rd page shows that people who are applying for adjustment of status and have a pending application CAN apply for drivers license showing the form 797C and they can check on the SAVE system using your passport number or Alien number provided on on letter 797C. You have to print and take the document you see in the link because they don't know. At first they told me no and once I show them that printed document they said ok take a number. Look at this screenshot from page 3.
And don't lose faith in the system, this happens because DPS do not fully train their representatives, it is allowed by their regulations. Remember something when a person apply for adjustment of status, from the PD Priority Day it has full lawfull status.

We had the same response. My husband got a job offer, we are at day 113 of waiting for EAD, tried to put in a SR and were told the jbo offer didn't matter. I don't really understand why the wait time is so long at this point. Surely they must understand that in 4 months of living here and not being able to work or drive, people start to get impatient..
Not sure in which state you live and what are the requirements for drivers license but here in Texas and in other states a person who is adjusting status can apply for drivers license, they will check on the save system and you will receive a letter which you take back to license office. I applied the same day I had Biometrics appointment and I had my drivers license in hand for quiet a while now.

So finally, I have my EAD in hand. I went straight to the social security administration office yesterday to apply for my ssn. Anyone has an idea of how long I need to wait to get it in mail? 14days seems like forever right now lol.
I also want to apply for my drivers license, does anyone know if I need my ssn before I can apply .
It depends on what state you live, some states require it to prevent identity theft, but for example Texas if you don't have one you can still get it. Check your local license office required documents.

Is anyone still at "Fingerprints fee received" for I-485? I'm curious (read: panicking) if I'm the only one among April filers left with the said status.
Also, since this is for the I-485, there's no way I can raise a service request. And there's no point in calling them, since our local office is processing cases from Sept 2016. However, I was expecting the status would change to 'case ready to be scheduled for interview'. I'm debating whether I should do an infoPass or just forget obsessing about it. It will happen when it happens.
I am late may filer and much of the people I have seen are moved to case ready to be scheduled for interview, not my case, I am in the same boat!

I filled on the 4th of May and i am still waiting on EAD/AP. I am being processed by NBC.
you are still within normal processing time, remember if you applied for AP it's going to take longer!

I am on day 85, it shouldn't take that long since we did not request AP

Had my biometrics finally August 9 put in a service request right after. No movement since. Called them today answer from the person I was transferred to ... you have to wait 30 days.
I'm going crazy here. Case has been pending 111 days.
Don't go crazy, you are still within the time frame. You requested AP right? AP processing time is longer than EAD, since they come as a combo card it will be on hold until AP is processed 110-120 or even longer, it's just their normal processing time, if you needed EAD faster you should have applied for EAD only and not AP. Just trying to explain that you are still in the time frame.

Our AOS was received May 9, EAD/AP on May 3 according to NOA and case status online. I put in an SR for EAD July 19, it said it was responded to August 11, and today we received a letter in the mail for that response (I don't know what it says yet because I'm still at work).
As of now, all of my cases still say Fingerprint fee received and case received on case status. We are well past 90 days on all of them and over 100 on EAD and AP
edit - and we did our biometrics on June 1, so far no RFE on anything - all 3 cases are at MSC/NBC as far as I can tell, and we filed from K1, living in NYC (queens)
EAD takes around 90 days but if you requested AP that takes longer you can't expect EAD to be approved in 90 days, it will be issued at the same time than AP once it's approved. GL

Hey guys, I know there are slot of May filers that have recieved their EAD cards or some have had interviews scheduled, I'm just trying to see if there are other May filers still waiting for EAD approval, I'm on Day 94 and still nothing and I have put in two SR requests, the first which was never responded to and the last one on Tuesday.
Did you also applied for AP? if that is the case AP approval which takes longer than EAD will hold your EAD.

I had the same response tuesday, I remember someone getting EAD a few days later with same status. I was hoping to get something today but I guess it will be next week!
