lon552 got a reaction from Keith & Monica in I129F April 2017 filers -Part 2
Looks like the interviews are lined up for @Keith & Monica, @Mike & Tuyen, and me. Monica's is on the 16th, Shehide's is the 18th, and Tuyen's is on the 20th! Pretty cool!

Shehide's medical went well yesterday other than having to schedule an appointment elsewhere to have the PPD test (TB) done for Shehide's daughter, Edona. She's scheduled to do it tomorrow and has to return on Monday for them to guage the results. Then she has to return to the Spitali Amerikan with the results to get her medical packet for next Wednesday's interview. I hardly get to speak to her now because she's been so busy. I must say the American Embassy in Pristina has been excellent so far. They've done a lot to put her at ease in preparing for the interview.

Appointment set!!!  We scheduled our appointment for 10/20 at 8:15 am.  We are so happy.  Now the mad scramble to pack up everything for my flight to Vietnam on Saturday.  Will go through my checklist for the 50th time to make sure I have everything.  Wish us luck on an approval!

Yeah, flying from Asturias to Salt Lake is quite a trip, usually around 20-21 hours to be safe with the connecting flights. He'll be arriving here in exactly 24 hours

This time he's flying to Dallas (around 2.5 hours) and then from there to Madrid, which is over a 9 hours flight (over 10 hours when we go back to the States ), and then 1 hour from Madrid to Asturias. Yep, quite a trip indeed

I guess having your interview done at a newly opened embassy is a benefit! Our case went in transit on Wednesday and then disappeared from the tracker yesterday. When I did a search I got "Your search did not return any data." so I began thinking that it was probably an electronic transfer being a new embassy and all and that it had dropped between the crack of In Transit and Ready. I had planned to call and check first thing this morning but I got a photo from a jubilant fiancee at 4:30 this morning of confirmation that the embassy has received her case and scheduled her interview for October 18th. The medical is next Wednesday and the woman who yesterday was telling me that she was sure that it was going to take until December or January to get to the next step is freaking out because it's happening so quickly (like I told her it would). What a rollercoaster ride!

2 weeks?! Oh, man... so glad I live in Spain! I would be freaking out about that long of a wait  But so great everything is falling into place and working perfectly now

BTW, I always find it endearing when you refer to your fiance as 'sweetie', because that's exactly how Gary calls me too

The embassy was changed at NVC. When I called to get my case number she read it off to me and I noticed the PRI immediately. I had actually already written SKO on my notepad because I was sure it was going to happen in Skopje, Macedonia. I told the CSR that I was surprised it was happening in Pristina and she said it was the first time she'd ever seen one from there. My sweetie was in a panic because she couldn't wait to get all of her papers ready back in April when I filed and she was sure they were all going to need to be renewed. I had her call the embassy and they confirmed what I had thought, her papers were all fine. We're still waiting for her I-134 to get there. I wasted money expediting it because it sat in New York's transfer terminal for almost 2 weeks. Kosovo is a black hole for shipping. The only shipping company there is Kosovo Limak, a Turkish company that I still yet to have a positive experience with despite many opportunities.

That's awesome news! Lol, you are getting VIP treatment for being one of the firsts going through the process at the new Embassy
Do you think they assigned you a new case number, with the 3 letters for Pristina? Oh well, the important thing it's it was far from lost

@_Mia_ Everything I've read, including notes from the CDC, indicates that they are concerned with communicable diseases and nothing more. Their purpose is to prevent infectious diseases from being spread. Your fiance is already providing documentation to illustrate that he is fiscally responsible for you and you will not become a public charge when you arrive. If they didn't allow people in that experienced some depression in their life they'd have to kick half of the country out! My advice? Take a deep breath and smile that you're almost there!

Edit: I over simplified my response. They can deny a visa if the physician feels you are a danger to yourself or others or you have a history of drug abuse. I didn't want to draw a parallel between depression and psychological disorders. I don't think either are pertinent in your case. You're going to breeze through the exam and kick yourself for overthinking it afterwards.

I edited after I stated it was the only thing they were concerned with. I sympathize with your fiance over the PTSD diagnosis. It's a difficult disorder with a high profile that's been given responsibility for some pretty dastardly acts when in reality most people struggle with it in silence. The statement was aimed more towards her specific case. I apologize for the over-simplification and wish you luck in getting past your delay.

Finally got my case number from NVC today! I almost got too busy too call today working on my kitchen. Apparently they have transferred our case from Macedonia to the new embassy in Pristina, Kosovo. All kinds of great news! She’s likely going to be the first K1 visa processed there. We are elated. So much easier than having to travel to Macedonia.
