lon552 got a reaction from Keith & Monica in I129F April 2017 filers
Welcome to the party! There's still plenty of time to get acquainted. We're still a little early for expecting any action on our applications but it doesn't hurt to get to know more people who are waiting along with you, impatiently I might add, for that fateful notification of approval. Good luck!

You can always do what I and many others do... Go watch and enjoy the flurry of February (and March is just starting) filers getting their approval and RFE notifications and commiserate with those still waiting.

Save a seat for us! I have been going through all of the February posts and early March returns knowing that our month is coming up next.

My Florida divorce decree is 5 pages. Nevada's is 21. My fiancée's was 3 pages. I'm sure it's the correct document.

I believe baptism is baptism. There are so many methods of baptism that no one can say there's a right or wrong one. I recommend you do what feels right for you. Myself, I'm holding out for a good ol' fashioned river baptism in the Ozarks (Missouri).

Hey everyone who is still waiting for NOA2. I just had an emotional breakdown this morning after seeing yet another day with no letter in the mail. This is on top of one of my kids moving on to middle school and leaving elementary school behind. In many ways, I feel like my class (all of my friends here who have their NOA2s) are my graduating class, and I have been left behind. It's a tough road, this is, being separated from the love of my life, with all of the emotional torment that comes along with it, and still trying to keep up with my daily life. There's nothing magic here that I am trying to say. I guess I just wanted to say that I have picked myself up off the floor again, and am trying to carry on. To anyone else out there that's suffering like me, you are not alone, and I understand what you are going through.

I guess time is relative because it doesn't seem so long to me... For now. Then it's true some days are better than others. As someone that had to wait for my fiance's (petitioner) divorce to be final for almost two years, having to deal in the meantime with some bad things related and some dark times, I can relate with the feeling.
Difference here is I'm the one in the couple that really has a full understanding of the visa process, while my fiance just is ok waiting because we know will be together at the end. The when part bothers me more than it does to him, though he gets bothered with bureaucracy more than I do. I guess, all in all, we balance each other

Good morning! My fiancee is having a difficult time understanding why the K1 visa takes so long. Her patience has already been tested waiting for me to finally get my divorce papers straightened out after 2 years. During the past couple of years of waiting there was always something we needed to do regarding moving towards being together and now that we're at the simple just-wait-for-the-response stage she's struggling with it. She's resorted to trying to convince me into returning to Kosovo this summer out of fear that it will continue to drag out.
I've been following the February filers that are just now getting their NOA2 letters to pass the time and remind me that there is progress towards getting to the March and April filers. I'm generally a patient person... but not for this.

lon552 got a reaction from millefleur in Moving To Florida
My house is in the Orlando area (Oviedo) and I work in Jacksonville. I think you will find Florida most hospitable. Southern hospitality is still alive here but it is on the decline. As for schools I recommend researching through Greatschools.org. When I moved here from Alaska 10 years ago I researched the best schools for my daughters for the area I was going to be working in using Greatschools.org and it has everything you'd want to know and more about the schools.
It would be easy to assume that jobs in the larger metropolitan areas would be more abundant but that's an easy assumption. It's going to be subjective to what your career is.
My fiancee is Kosovo-Albanian and I've investigated finding local Albanians in the Jacksonville area by using Facebook and searching for groups there. I didn't have a lot of luck other than subscribing to Jacksonville Albanian community events (concerts and such) but I did manage to find a small Albanian cafe not far from my apartment in Jacksonville which has opened doors to the Albanian community here.

I would check with the consulate first before I made plans for being there. I know in Skopje, Macedonia the petitioner is not allowed in the building during the interview.

*Data is still skewed. Save for a few people who shared their case numbers, other cases which have already received notice of approval via snail mail are still not included in the approved tally.*
**For those who have gotten approval via snail mail, can you share your case numbers with me if you don't mind. I will not use your case number in a harmful way, only so I can take you off my scan list and add you on the approved cases tally. Thanks!**
