Thanks, I had mailed the form and passport card. They sent me a new SS card within 1 week!

Within the USA, you should always show your US passport- its easiest and most trustworthy for TSA to see a USA passport. This way if they pull you up for additional screening for whatever reason, your USA passport will help them look you up in their internal records. Just my 2 cents!
-
Look at the other threads and see how long it took most people. Anyhow, you never know how long your case might take. They might need more documentation or the center that your passport is sent to might be busier or less busy than others. You'll never know.
I think i took my Oath on June 23rd and applied for a US passport on June 24th. Mine was approved and mailed on July 29. The passport card 2 days after that. I am yet to receive my original naturalization certificate that i mailed with my application.
My advice would be to plan for a 2 month wait at least even if you choose to expedite your passport. If its processes sooner, its a bonus.
Good luck.

Hi-
Has any US citizen here been to a Global Entry interview recently without any employment history? What questions came up and how did you address it?
Thank you.
-
Also the other thing to do: Get a Real ID once you get your US Passport/Card. Drive on that. Use your old DL to mail for SS proof if needed for old name proof or whatever reason.

Hi all-
I am in Boston, MA and am just sending my documents to my local SS office-
Just a tip for those who are apprehensive about sending their original Drivers License- You could apply for a duplicate drivers license if your state allows you to do that and just mail them one and keep one for yourself.
Good luck!

Hi- Has anyone gone to the Social Security office in Boston, MA recently either with appointment or walk-in? I will phone them tomorrow to ask if I could visit them to update my SS card. I could have mailed my documents to them but my spouse (always been a US citizen) also has to update some of his records with them.
Let me know if any of you have recently visited the SS office and your experience. Thank you

When you say "recd", do you mean the date when the application was received by the receiving end in the mail and was noted in mail tracking system? or you mean when your application status turned to "in process"?
Your question does not warrant further explanation. The point is that the expedited passport was approved in approx. 1 month. Thats enough information.

Hi- My question is for other former Indian citizens who went through the OCI process.
I recently acquired US citizenship and have to give up my Indian passport. Am i married or single in the OCI application? Curious to hear how you went ahead with the OCI process.I KNOW that India does not recognize same sex marriages and therefore i should be "single" on the OCI application form but dont want to run into trouble if, on entry in India, its disclosed that I'm married in a same sex marriage and did not disclose that on my OCI application. Thanks.

are you going through the same sitution like me? can you please contact with me . I will appreciate your advice
No im not going through this situation. I am going to my naturalization ceremony tomorrow morning. I cannot advice you since I dont know what to do legally. You really need to contact a good immigration lawyer who will advise you on everything you want to know. Nobody here will be able to offer the kind of advice that a lawyer can give you. Good luck.

I am in a sex sex marriage too. I am from Boston, MA. I HIGHLY advise you to get a good immigration lawyer. The law firm that represented me is Iandoli, Desai & Cronin PC (www.iandoli.com) and has a lot of LGBT clients- the founding partner of this firm is part of the LGBT community too. Sorry for your situation and i hope you find help soon!

May 7, 2021 Oath Ceremony Will Be ScheduledMay 7, 2021 We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.Just waiting to receive the date for my Oath ceremony. On May 10, i got a notification that scheduled my Oath for June 23rd.
I filed I 751 in March 2019 and N 400 in March 2020 and i was approved for citizenship on May 7, 2021. 26 months in all! My spouse and I were called for an I 751 Interview in March 2021, 2 months ago almost. They did not approve me on the spot- it took almost 6 weeks for approval. I had involved my senators office since October 2020. Cant be sure that it helped but it did not hurt the case!

My Oath ceremony has been scheduled for June 23rd at Moakley Courthouse. Can anyone who had their Oath at this venue post Covid tell me more about the process and how long it took?
Thank you!

Congratulations!! Unfortunately, no. You will have to go to one of the post offices in your area. You can look on their website to see which one offers passport services. Not everyone does.
Thank you. I looked up the passport application process and place (USPS) where i will go to apply in person. Went to the MA district court website to look up the Naturalization schedule but the pdf attached had info from 2020 and has not been updated- Cant wait to get this over with.

Hi all! I had filed I751 ROC in March '19 and N-400 in March '20. Just got an email sometime ago saying that my N-400 interview notice is being sent in the mail. I live in Boston. They probably will adjudicate both ROC and N-400 at the same interview. Anyone here recently been through this here? Hoping the Oath is on the same day so im done with this process but apparently only the Lawrence office does this.
My Oath ceremony has been scheduled and i am now waiting for the letter in the mail to see the date and time. For those in Boston, is there an option to apply for the passport at the same venue as the Oath? Thought id ask!
Thank you

Hi All- My I751 ROC has been pending since March 2019 and my N400 since March 2020. Just got an update today that my N400 notice of interview has been mailed. I am in Boston, MA. I'm guessing that the interview will also cover the I751 ROC part of it, whatever that means.
Latest update:
I had received my N-400 notice in the mail for an interview today ie. 03/26 2021 but it did not explicitly mention that my I751 would be adjudicated at the same time. However, my spouse accompanied me for the interview. We were interviewed at our local Boston USCIS office. The IO said that he will be doing both the I751 ROC and N400 interview. First question was about how we met, whether our families knew our spouses and timeline of our dating & marriage (how long after dating did we move in together, was there a proposal etc.) International trips and whether we were together on those trips. He already had our thick folder of I751 evidence from 2 years ago and was not too concerned about evidence. HE said that we had enough of the evidence! We have a 30+ year age difference so he said that the age difference had initially thrown him off but he had enough evidence to prove that our marriage is real.
Then all of us waiting outside in the waiting area while he worked on his computer for 20 mins. Then he called me back in and did the naturalization part of the interview ( Who is the president, how many years do we elect President for, responsibility of US citizens, how many amendments to the constitution, ways in which US citizens can participate in their democracy, and one other that i cant remember) Got all 6 correct and then he went through the regular yes/no questions.
Said that he could not approve on the spot because we had submitted so much evidence for him to review but we MIGHT be hearing back later this afternoon or in the next few days. He had to get stuff signed off by supervisor.
Hoping to hear some good news soon!

I applied for I751 in November 2017 (2 years ago) thE case is still pending. I filed the “out of processing time request” online and I reached out to my congressman and they say its still pending.
I applied for N400 earlier this year (March) and I had the interview today and they couldnt make a decision because the I751 is still pending.
anyone had a similar experience ? Anything I can do to speed up the process?? How can I file a complain?
Hi. Im guessing that your case was approved since this post is so old. If so, how long did it take after your N400 interview to get the approval?

Hi everyone, I just passed my citizenship test yesterday everything was fine. I signed two papers I also signed on my Photographs.
then I got this checked:
you passed the tests of English .....
USCIS, will send you a written decision your application
B) A decision cannot yet be made about your application. No idea why did I get this instead of congratulation checked. really worried about it.
i singed two papers and photos, does it mean a good sign?
I asked the IO why is this, she just told me after a decision is made you will get mail you.
I passed, what else she need? if anything was wrong why didn't she tell me?
please help me out if know anything about this kind of situation.
Did you hear back regarding your oath ? trying to figure out your timeline...thanks!

Today I had the interview at 26 Federal Plaza in NYC, it's been really a long time coming because I filed I-751 in Dec. 2017.
Anyway, the security at the main entrance was pretty strict with who gets to go in. Getting through the metal detectors and then off to the 7th Floor, it's probably the first time or last time anyone would ever see a waiting room this empty there. lol There were probably only 5-6 people waiting by the time we got called in by our officer.
Officer was professional, did a little chit chat. Then she asked what documentations I brought. So I handed her our tax returns, bank statements, a variety of utility bills, lease renewal----all joint and about two years' worth, life insurance. Also showed her our original birth certificates and marriage certificate. She also asked for some pictures. She didn't ask a ton of marriage related questions, was more interested in my immigration related history starting from the first day I arrived here.
Then she said she was done with my spouse, walked him out. Then came back to conduct the N-400, questions were easy, she stopped, I believe, at the 6th one probably because I got them all correct. Proceeded to ask me to read a sentence and write it down on an Ipad.
In the end, she handed me a piece of paper on which "A decision cannot be made yet about your application" is checked and said to wait a month for a decision in the mail. Arghhh, more waiting:-(
I don't know what I should expect from this point, more RFE? or some other hurdle?
So what was the outcome? I dont see a timeline in your profile...

Expedited passport received one month ago... still no naturalization certificate
in Passports, etc. - What to do now that you are a US citizen
Posted
I got mine about 4-5 weeks after. There is nothing you can do but wait since you have already phoned several times. If you do not get it for 3 months, apply for a new one.
What does your husband need the naturalization certificate for?
