  1. Hi Everyone,

My mother in law is a permanent resident and has living in the states for 8 years. She would like to petition her husband ( my father in law) who she has been married to for about 30 years.

Does anyone here know if a lawful permanent resident can petition a spouse?  If so, how long does that typically take?  Would it be classified as a CR-1?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

  2. Hi Everyone,

My fiancé's status just changed on the CEAC site from AP to issued. But the K2 still shows application received. Her interview was on Aug 8 at the USEM in Manila. Does anyone have any experience with something like this? I always thought the k1 and k2 are tied together so they would of been issued at the same time.

Has anyone here ever have a case where the k1 was issued at a separate time from the k2?

Any opinions or comments you have would be greatly appreciated!

  3. We just sent out new cenomar out. Anyone have any idea why it says it has a Charleston SC address instead of the USEM in Manila ? I'm just hoping 2go didn't mess it up and shipped it to the wrong embassy. I'll also give them a call later today. Just wanted to know if anyone has seen this before.

  4. Hi Everyone,

My fiance just had her interview yesterday at the USEM in Manila 7/8/17. All went well except the was a minor problem with her CENOMAR. There was an issue with her mothers name which she will have to correct and resend to them through 2GO. They did take her passport and her son's passport. Overall it went well and the consular said that she saw no reason why she wouldn't get approved as long as she sends the required document. She plans on getting the corrected Cenomar and sending it out today as well.

Anyone have any idea roughly how long processing will be for something like this would be once the USEM receives it the corrected? I've seen some stuff on older threads but just wondering if anyone has any recent on an issue like this.

My fiance is currently 27 weeks pregnant and I'm hoping she'll be able to get her Visa before she becomes 30-32 weeks.

    Thanks in advance guys !

  5. Does anyone know if the USEM in Manila actually requires the petitioner's divorce decree to be original/Certified?  I did send my fiance my original divorce decree and AOS but I'm also worried it might not arrive in time for her interview or might get lost in the mail. I wasn't thinking at the time and I sent it USPS. Now I regret it because it's delayed and Phil Post sucks. I've read for some people they did not even ask for the divorce decree. I'm wondering,If worse case scenario she'll be able to take a copy of my divorce decree.

  6. Thanks so much @Greenbaum for the information! That's why I love this site because of all helpful members such as yourself.

My case status has on the CEAC website has actually been showing "Ready" since July 14th.

Just checked out the visaconnection site. Its an awesome site. I'm definitely bookmarking that page on my phone.

  7. Hi Everyone ,

My fiancé and I have already scheduled our interview for August 8th.  Our case was sent from NVC  to the Embassy on July 14th. Do you guys think it would be at the US Embassy in Manila by now?

I've spoken to them and have not had any luck getting the eligibility letter even though my request was escalated. I hear most cases are sent electronically now. I just want to be sure they have my fiance's case prior to her interview.

Thanks in advance for the replies guys !

  8. Hi everyone ,

I'm a Fil-am and but my fiancé is in Baguio and is currently pregnant. Her due date is in October. We are currently awaiting our approval for our k1. Does anyone know when my child is born if she can have my last name even though I am not married to my fiancé yet. I know for Filipino citizens they just require ID and cedula. Does anyone know what I would need since I'm an American citizen?
