Hellooooooooooo to my dear March Whiners - from Virginia!

So now I finally came back and found our thread closed! We made the server kneel - heck yeah, that rocks!

Sooooo I noticed I got searched - here I am!

I had to manage the clearing of my place and had sold my iMac beginning September, so I wasn't really online anymore, since I hate doing stuff like this here on the iPhone.

Long story short - I made it!

The goodbyes at home were harder than expected, many tears with my (former) coworkers, my mom and my closest friends. I"ve spent my last nights in Germany in my favorite city on this planet - beloved Hamburg - and flew out from there. My POE was last Friday at Boston Logan Airport.

The Immigration in Boston was a little awkward. Seems like the IO are all more grumpy the later it gets. I had to wait long at the Immi, then got escorted to the obligatory Secondary and sat there waiting again for a felt eternity. It was just weird. I wasn't nervous, but it just felt awkward to sit and wait so long (felt long at least).
But in the end it turned out good, and after about an hour I could collect my luggage and leave with my passport.

It kind of irritated me that the officer just doodled with a ball pen on this sticker we all have worked and waited for sooooo long and now it's useless

Yeah, well! As you can tell:
Scott has really came to Richmond/VA to pick me up, haha! The iron rake from Germany has arrived and is very happy to be united with my perfect match. 
Daily routine has already caught up. He had to work again on Monday already, works 15pm to 1am, so I'm home with the cats and trying to make a home out of this bachelors household.
To be honest - I haven't left the house without him yet. Everything is so far away; no walking distances, and I don't have a car yet. But that's fine for now. The crazy man got me a very new and shiny MacBook for my birthday, so I'm back online trying to catch up!

For the "formal" part: We'll go for my SSN tomorrow, he added me to his cell phone plan today, so I got my US simcard. His leave got confirmed for the last week of October/first week of November, so we will probably head out to his family in Utah in the middle of that time and make a road trip to Vegas to get married!

And last but not least:
Not a crazy POE pic, but a selfie right after we hugged hello! I'll keep this pic forever, because it's not only a selfie - it's the arrival after the biggest journey of my life so far! <3

I know we've been among the lucky ones here... till the point sometimes I feel bad everything went so smoothly for us while others have to struggle.

Ok, so I'm in the train back home from my medical. Nothing much to tell really. It took me a bit over two hours, but that was mostly waiting and some walking because you have to go to a clinic that is 1.7kms away for the x rays.
 
It seems to me the medical is a bit of a joke, sorry. The doctor made me questions to fill the standard form that were mostly just to say no: drugs, tobacco, alcohol, mental diseases, suicidal tendencies...
Then he barely checked my breathing and throat and stomach... And blood pressure that was a bit high. I didn't even have to take off any clothes, except for the shoes for measuring height and weight.
 
The nurse just drew my blood and copied my vaccines into the official form. I was fine on everything, but they charged me an extra of 35€ to prove I had varicella when I was a kid. So if you can manage to have your doctor making a report saying you already had varicella, then do that, because a scar didn't suffice on my case.
Then x rays and that's it. Well, it's done.

Yeah, I was hopeful that if things moved kind of fast I could meet a certain deadline for my medical, but I think it's better to assume that won't happen and accept things as they come.
Good luck on Friday! Of course I'll let you know what happens on Wednesday (probably another no).

Awwww im sorry but this truly is nothing compared to the wait on the noa2. We got this 💪
We will try again on Friday and since Germany is part of the electronical case system we go with 5.
Well if I hear some good news about your case on Wednesday I might as well ask wayne to call sooner (doe-eyed, of course 😬)

Aww, thank you... but nope.
They also told us not to call option 5 again, since they deal with electronic cases, but the usual 7... therefore I assume ours is not going to be electronic, maybe because Spain doesn't have that yet, which is something I was kind of thinking it might be the case, and they did ask what was our Embassy.
 
We'll try on Wednesday again, probably... 

@Estibaliz we also tried this morning and they haven't received ours either. But keeping my fingers crossed that they might have gotten yours already

Awesome!  Yes it takes time for people to update systems in a place as big as USCIS.  Great to hear you are on your way!

Das heißt so ganz grob und wenn alles gut läuft, wären 8 Wochen relativ realistisch, schätze ich. Ich brauch einfach immer sowas wie ein Ziel, dieses ganze limbo macht mich noch kirre, 😜
Ja, stillschweigend habe ich mit dir mitgelitten, @TearsOfBabylon ich bin schon auch etwas zittrig, wenn es um das medical geht, muss ich gestehen. 
Und dann wollte ich noch fragen was du für Boxen zu Scott geschickt hast, bzw waren das mehr so Umzug Kartons zwecks der Größe und wieviel Kilo darf "mein Leben" dann wiegen und was kostet das? Du hattest das glaub irgendwann mal erwähnt aber das ist schon ein bisserl her und ich finde das natürlich nicht mehr. 
Ich wünsche euch allen einen schönen Abend oder tag, je nachdem auf welcher der Seite des Ozeans ihr gerade seid 

I have no idea how their workflow goes, but it could all come down to a simple checkbox. The person handling the case may have sent NOA1 instead of NOA2 by complete and honest mistake. 
 
Note that you will need the WAC number from the NOA2, so hopefully you were able to obtain that over the phone
As well, it's handy to know the NOA2 expiry date, as the interview MUST be completed before that date.

Bei mir is grad Endspurt. Job ist amtlich gekündigt, Wohnung 3/4 leer und gekündigt; letzter Tag auf Arbeit + Wohnungsübergabe am 15. September, am 18. fahr ich nach Hamburg und von da flieg ich am 22. September zu Scott!
Hochzeitstrip nach Utah+Vegas wird Ende Oktober... er hat für die letzten beiden Oktoberwochen Leave eingereicht. Exciting! Bis dahin könnt ich meine SSN auch haben, dann passt alles wieder.

Also meine Stats, da ich die "frischst approvede" (<--- WAS für eine Formulierung ) Aktive hier im deutschen Strang bin:

Von NOA2 Notice Date bis Casenummer warens bei uns 18 Tage. Ich hab die Nummer auf Anruf bekommen; Scott hatte aber fast zeitgleich auch eine Email. 
Im internationalen März-Thread isses so 50:50. Einige haben nur per Anruf was erfahren, andere haben frühzeitig ne Mail bekommen. 

Von "At NVC" und "In Transit" hab ich - elektronisches Case sei Dank - trotz intensivstem Tracker Stalking nicht mal was mitbekommen. Das ging zackzack. Pack 3 war dann ca. 2 Wochen danach in der Post.

@TabeaK hat schon Recht. Wenn du nicht ultra ungeduldig bist, kannste das locker aussitzen.
Ich war halt hibbelig auf die Nummer weil ich ENDLICH zum Medical wollte, damit das vorbei ist.
Mit dem DS-160 hab ich dann auch ewig gewartet; kurz vor Erhalt von Pack 3 erst ausgefüllt und abgeschickt. Dafür gings dann echt ratzfatz: Montag Pack 3 eingesendet; Dienstag angekommen; Mittwoch Pack 4  (Appointment confirm) per Mail; Dienstag drauf schon Interview.

Der Transfer zum NVC dauert 2-6 Wochen (bei mir waren es 2015 ungefaehr 5). Vom NVC zum Konsulat dann nochmal 1-2 Wochen. Ich hab vom NVC nie Post bekommen - mein Verlobter in den USA auch nicht, wir haben die Nummer nur per anrufen erhalten.
 
Wenn man geduldig ist, muss man das aber nicht - denn wenn die Petition einmal in Frankfurt angekommen ist, melden die sich schon. 

Are you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE this isn't the NOA2? It should arrive somewhere around 4-6 months from the time of NOA1. I mean they look completely different though, so it's hard to mix these up.
 
NOA1 for us was received one week after we submitted the application. Only one week. NOA2 came 4 months after that.
 
Might be worth the 6 and a half hour call back time!
