Indeed they are! Besides our personal experience, we've seen the most unbelievable mistakes around the forum.
My personal favorite is when they requested a translation to English for a birth certificate from England.

Yeah I think it depends on who does the interview.

Sorry to hear that, our IO said the same too. “All looks good”.  I know each application and circumstances surrounding it are different as well as interviewing officers.

ours was straight forward with the majority of “suggested” documents.

if you didn’t receive a RFE and, your IO told that, then  allwill be fine.  Some field offices are busier than others.  Relax and be patient.

also, I’ve seen some that their status never updates.   For those 2 weeks it only showed for my wife “interview scheduled”.

    your good.

Still no update online. Interview was last week on Thursday. The IO said that everything looks good before we left. Should I be worried?

BTW for everyone saying their interview was easy. Our interview was 40-45 minutes long and we felt that we had to tell her our entire life story. I submitted a lot of documents before the interview and also at the interview to account for the time from filing to now.

    Congrats!

It took about a week for my wife.  We had the interview on a Monday and the following Monday it was updated to “card being produced”. It updated about a day later showing approved then a few days later showing the card was mailed with tracking number.  Got the 797 approval and card about 2 weeks after interview.

I thought that everybody in this thread would be very amused by my immigration attorney trying to convince me that getting an ROC interview is exceedingly rare and therefore I should pay him to come with us.

I responded to his email with a link to the Dec 2018 change in guidelines that make CR-1s ineligible for an interview waiver 😂

    Just found this forum!

Hope the spreadsheet owner doesn’t mind but I added a column on the tracker to calculate duration from biometrics appointment to ready for interview scheduling (was dying to know how long my wait might be)!

Interviewed today.  IO said the package we provided was awesome.  The actual interview took 5 minutes.  Just verified some questions on the form and approved.  Case status changed to card is being produced.

Just a caution for anyone who needs to get a connecting flight once back in the US and is traveling on a GC plus extension letter.  We flew into SFO from Heathrow on July 11th, with an onward connection to Seattle.  We had left a full 3 hours between flights.  After checking with the people directing the lines, we skipped the kiosks (we already knew they wouldn't work with an extension letter, but some airports don't like you skipping them) and got in the line to speak with an officer.  The officer spent about 5 minutes looking through the paperwork, clearly knowing exactly what I'd shown him, and then sent me to secondary anyway.  Where I sat for almost 2 hours before being sent on my way with no additional questions asked apart from what date I'd left the US.  Resulting in us missing our connecting flight.  I will give a big thumbs up to United Airlines who were incredibly helpful in getting us onto another flight and even gave us meal vouchers, listing it as a CBP error, even though there was no fault on United's part.  The only explanation I was given was that everyone on an extension letter now goes to secondary because "green cards used to be handed out like candy" (that's news to me - getting mine was certainly a long and involved enough process).  So, while you are most likely going to be allowed to re-enter the country, you may have to expect it to take anything up to 4 or 5 hours...possibly even longer - there were a couple of people in secondary at 3 pm who had been there since morning.  If you need to get a connecting flight, leave way longer than you think you reasonably need between flights.  This appears to be a fairly recent change - I had traveled previously on the same documents with no trouble or delays whatsoever.

I would say calling is the safest way to make sure that they got your email.

I would wait about a week for them to receive it from USCIS and then call NVC to ensure they have your correct email address on file. I personally did not have good luck with the NVC email. I sent them a question regarding my fees and received a response a month later.

Call in about a week to ask for NVC case number along with invoice ID and also verify email address. In the meantime you can start gather all of your documents so that you area prepared to fill out DS-260, etc. GL!
