Nikki14 got a reaction from KAF in Montreal medical & Consulate interview Reviews
My fiance just wrote "This is my packet 3 documentation as per the instructions above the checklist" and sent his passport scan, ds-160 confirmation page, and his signed checklist from here: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf

I would say to anyone waiting, go ahead and e-mail them with your p3, even do it multiple times if you want to. We repeatedly e-mailed them and checked, nothing happened. Then I got the suggestion to go ahead and send it and got p4 information two days later. We did get something in the mail, but not for weeks. From everyone I have heard from, going ahead and sending it when it says 'ready' speeds their butts up. XD At the very least it can't hurt.

    Congratulations on your interview date!

International travel has no effect on the validity of his K1 visa. Provided he has not already entered the US after the grant of his visa, there should be no problem at all. (After entry, he would need to wait for AP.)

Nikki14 got a reaction from janet3 in Is anyone else so emotionally drained from the K-1 process that they want to forgo a proper wedding (with ceremony & reception) and just go to the courthouse instead?
Doing a court house wedding is what me and my fiance are planning too. We are stressing about so much, we didn't want to stress about planning anything big on top of it and our top priority is being able to be living together and married as soon as we can. <3 A wedding is secondary to us. Besides I have so many family members in the area, we'll probably end up being taken out to dinner so many times to celebrate, hahah. And we're gonna go to dinner the day of, with cake! That is the most important part.

Okay I have been following this guide (http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide) and think we are about ready to send everything off. I'd appreciate it if you guys could look over it and let us know if you think we need further info or if we're looking good:
G-1145 Payment check Cover Letter I-129F (signed and dated) This has a section to explain how you got together and have met in person, with extra room at the end, so we used all of that. We've met 7 times in person. Two seperate original statements, his and mine (signed and dated), saying we intend to marry within 90 days of him getting here. His G-325A (signed and dated) with passport photo My G-325A (signed and dated) with passport photo Copy of my birth certificate
For proof of relationship & seeing each other we intend to send:
Flight/bus/hotel receipts from each of our trips Including tickets/badge for a convention we went to on one trip, ticket for the Royal Ontario Museum which we went to on another trip, movie tickets, and as many boarding passes/ect as we could locate Scanned our passport stamp pages, his and mine. Unfortunately, border patrol didn't stamp his or my passport every time, just like half the time.  Five pictures of us together (should we send more?) Engagement ring receipts (could include pics of us wearing our rings) Written version of what he said when he proposed (in his handwriting) Phone bill showing how many texts we sent back and forth last month and also June/July last year (to prove our contact is fairly consistent) Skype logs (of call start/stop times) for the last month or two, showing we talk all the time
    Things we could also include:
Shipping label for him sending me a laptop as a present last year. Shipping label for him sending me his half of the documentation for this packet.
I dunno if this is overkill or not enough or not the right stuff, opinions are very welcome. We're very excited/nervous and we've looked at it so much by now I'm pretty sure I couldn't possibly see what was missing if anything was.

Your petition and supporting documents look great!  Just make sure everything is signed, dated, and you wrote down the proper petition fee!

If you have any questions on the Canadian immigration process, feel free to message.  My fiance had her interview in Montreal last week, and I attended.  We were happily approved and the total process took about 5 months.

Good luck on your visa journey!

Looks like you have a lot of what me and my fiance put in ours.  Good luck to you. Its a stressful process but here at VJ it makes it so much better.  Thats the problem with crossing the border as the majority of the time they don't bother stamping passports. My fiance was disappointed that they did not when he came into Canada a couple months ago. lol

Thanks so much for the response! Yeah, I forgot I didn't have anything on my profile, so I went and filled it in a bit more. We're slowly working our way through the guides, going point by point getting stuff together, and lots of googling, but I didn't see this addressed anywhere and it was sort of relevant if I get the new job. At my new job I'd probably be making enough to qualify myself, but due to the newness I figured we'd have him co-sponsor anyway, just in case they look at me funny for the job being so recent.

For Canada I highly doubt that will be an issue, especially if you have a co-sponsor. Besides, think of all the college students who apply then find a job after graduating. It's not as rare a situation as you might think.

Generally during the K1 Visa process, the completed and signed I-134 Affidavit of Support form is given to the foreign fiance and submitted during their embassy interview.  The interview will be several months after you have filed your initial I-129f petition.  If your job changes between this time, you can simply put your new job on the I-134 form.  You are wise to have a co-sponsor to make sure you meet the support guidelines and to alleviate any scrutiny about your new job.

Now keep in mind, much of the K1 Visa process after your petition is approved is country specific.  The process for Canadians are vastly different vs. the process for those from Jamaica.

Make sure to update and fill your VJ profile, so other VJ members from your foreign fiance's country can give you specific advice regarding your case.
