  1. If that's the case it will be dragged out even longer. This is ridiculous. Someone at USCIS needs to take the bull by the horns and just send out the 10-year green cards for the ROC applications. Considering the small number of ROCs that are denied they are just wasting time and resources.
  2. My wife filed for ROC in October 2020. ROC was sent to Potomac processing center. She has 2-year extension letter which expires at the end of this year. January 2022 she filed N-400. March 2022 she received notice that her ROC was transferred to National Benefits Center. No reason giver although we thought it was because she filed her N-400. My question now is what processing times should we be looking at? The USCIS website does not give processing times for I-751 at NBC. If they have a processing time, is it based on when they received the transfer or the initial date of filing? And then there's the issue of the N-400. Just asking now so if necessary I will no when to inquire if the processing time is outside the normal processing time.
  3. When the I-751 is filed you need to submit supporting documents that show current relationship is valid. However, with the huge backlog and delay, by the time the interview is held the supporting documents are no longer current. Defeats the purpose. USCIS has your money. Just issue the green card. Flag the cases that seem shaky and just interview those.
  4. 1. It's a moneymaker 2. Not a priority since USCIS can simply issue updated extension letters as they've already done. When I informed my wife's employer that her green card was going to expire but that she had received an extension letter they told me that once a person was hired they never really checked to see if that person remained in employment status. What I don't understand is since most of the ROCs are granted, with such a backlog, USCIS should be able to develop a plan to screen and fast track many of the applications and simply issue 10-year green cards without any interview.
  5. My step-daughter lives in the Philippines and has applied for a visitor visa. She has had her appointment cancelled twice due to covid restrictions at the embassy. After the second cancellation, back in January, they gave her an a new appointment at the earliest available date, September 2023. Hope you have better luck.

  7. I don't see why traveling on an extension letter should be an issue since the letter is issued because USCIS can't process the ROC timely. I have a suggestion. Anyone returning to the US on an extension letter should be immediately taken to a side room and given their ROC interview. 😊
  8. Maryland. In Maryland, even undocumented aliens can get a driver's license. But even if you can't get a license, in Maryland, passing a driver's education course is a requirement and if you have a similar requirement, you can at least take the course while waiting for your green card.
  9. One thing you can do while waiting for work authorization is get your driver's license. In my state, even if you had a license before you still have to take a driver's education course in order to get your license here. Check on your state's rules.
