    1) What you are intending to send in for 2017 is the tax return, and that has to be accompanied by W2(s).
    2) I would go with more than one pay stub to show the stability of the income. I sent in 6 months.
    3) I would wait for the police certificate from Australia than risk a checklist.
    4) You need to check on this one, but you probably need to send in a copy of the original birth certificate on top of the translated one.

I can't comment on the domicile documents because I have no experience with that.

The petitioner's passport bio page is not needed because the petitioner's status in the US has already been established; only the joint sponsor needs a passport bio page.

After our fee payment at NVC it took like 13 days for it to show as paid.  If you have all the correct paperwork in hand, you are looking at approx 40 - 60 days at NVC (it might take a little longer now) for Case complete.  Plus whatever timeframe your embassy has to assign interview dates, Sweden is probably fast.  I'd say being optimistic 2.5 - 3 months for your interview.

Just delay doing the steps. You have a year to complete each step.  So do the ds-261, wait some time, pay the aos fee, wait, pay the IV fee within a year of when you want to interview...  do the ds-260, and send the documents when you are ready for a case complete and interview.  Its easier to do that then delay the interview itself.

    Best of luck!

I would say you are very close to having NOA2 as there have already been approvals for April, so any day now.  As far as what you can do to prepare after that you can look at this site. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/immigrant-visa-for-spouse.html#6 this gives you an idea of what will come at NVC.

Your green card will not be ready until a few weeks AFTER you move to the USA.  Once the I-130 is adjudicated "approved" you will apply for a visa that allows you to move to the USA within six months of issue.  Paying the new immigrant fee AND entering the USA is what triggers the green card.

The timing will depend on how efficiently you and your spouse manage the process through the National Visa Center, but think in terms of 3 to 5 months, so between April and June, in your case.

    I have a similar question.
I already have a ten-year tourist/business visa which means I can go to American for short stay.
Right now I live outside US with my husband and I have a pending CR1, waiting to get approved so we can move back to America.
So if I have a legitimate reason to visit America for tourist/business intention, and can provide necessary documents(like company invitation letter, flight return tickets etc) to prove it to the custom officials, would I still be denied at the border?

IR1 or CR1 visas are taking about a year to process at present. Mine too 13.5months but could have been completed in 12 months if it wasn't for a couple of unexpected delays.  If you needed to delay further you can do so at NVC stage by just not sending everything straight away.
If you do what Hans has suggested just above, you need to apply for a resident return visa BEFORE you leave the USA.  At my interview they advised me of this.  Until you get the greencard in the mail this is advisable, to ensure you're able to come back in with no issues.  However they may ask for a return date. Therefore the "same day" plan may not work too well.  But visiting then returning back to norway is certainly an option for you.

If you choose to delay, I would suggest doing so at NVC stage (when they are asking you to send your IV and AOS packages in), because your other option is moving your interview date... but the consulate may question you more if they see you keep delaying the interview.

You can't delay (past the 6months) after getting approved.
When people talk about delaying at the NVC stage, that's before you have your interview. Each stage of the NVC process requires input from you (a form, or a payment, or further documentation, etc). So you can delay the process by not sending that next piece of input for awhile.
Once your interview is scheduled, you could ask to reschedule it for a later date, but once you have interviewed, been approved, and get your passport back with the visa in it, you have 6 months to make the big move.

Another way would be to make a quick visit to the US anytime from when you get you visa until 6 months after your medical. When you get your visa stamped it will become a temporary green card, and you are from that moment a resident of the United States. You can get on a flight back to Norway the same day if you like to, or spend a few days in the US, and go back to finish your business in Norway. You can be away from the US for up to a year, but it's advisable to keep it shorter. If you need 7 months extra time before you actually move to the US, you can first wait 4-5 months, then travel to the US, get your visa stamped and then go back to Norway for a few more months, now as a Greencard-holder.

Thanks! So you think just a government issued proof of being registered on the same address would be enough? I was so sure proof of financial co-mingling was a must with the i-130. Did anyone experience issues because of the lack of these documents?
