Not necessary. The officer didn't ask for it. I also read online that it was not required for the K1 but make sure to double check. I just wanted to play it safe.

    Hi everyone,

We had our AOS interview today and got approved on the spot!!!! We are so happy.

    Documents we brought:
Copies of all the forms submitted
    New medical examination
    passports and driver's license
    current and past EAD
proof of relationship evidence (joint bank account, health insurance, car insurance, joint lease, joint credit cards, a ton of pictures of our relationship)

During our interview, the officer just asked us for our passports, licenses, and EAD. They reviewed the whole original AOS application and asked the following questions:

What do you like about each other?
What do you like to do as a couple?
    How did you meet?
What year did you meet each other?
Where did you go on your first date?
    When did you get married?
    How did you propose?
What is your spouse's birth date?
    Are you currently working?
    When did you start working?

The officer was nice and everything went smoothly.

Best of luck to everyone out there!

Woke up today to an email from USCIS -- logged an and it was a notice the interview letter has been sent!

Now it's panic time pulling together all the evidence since our wedding. We've been collecting it but without any organization. Eeek!

Interview was today at Oakland Park, FL field office. Arrived 30 mins before interview time (10am). Got called in by the IO a few minutes after we arrived. We took an oath/swore us in, then explained the consequences about presenting false documents and making false statements. Then he gave us an INA (Immigration and Nationality Act) 216 notice explaining that upon the approval the I-485, I will be given a conditional green card, then he made us sign the notice, he witnessed it. Then he gave us copy of the notice.

First part of the interview, he verified addresses and asked us to present the originals of the birth certificates and passports of my husband and I. Then he proceeded into questions:

What does my husband do for a living?
Which legal area does my husband practice in?
(To my husband) am I employed? where do I work?
What's the name of my mother in law? my husband was also asked this question
    Their occupation
Asked my husband if my mother has a US visa
He asked me the name of the colleges my husband attended
Asked my husband how many siblings do I have, if he has met any of them, their names
Timeline of our relationship....how did we meet, where was our first date, when we decided to get married.

It was a good interview, my husband is the real mvp lol. But anyways he told us he will double check our information and then should receive an update in a couple days. Then 4 hours later I received an update "Case was Approved" for both the I-485 AND I-130

As long as your EAD is not expired, you can travel. Even during the last days before it expires.

    Some helpful links:
    https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/employment-authorization-document

Do not travel when your new EAD card is processing and your old one expired. I hope it helps.

If you have any more questions, try to find a forum that only talks about EAD, please. This one is for AOS January filers 2018.

Thanks for sharing! Very useful information.

I applied to renew my EAD/AP a couple weeks ago too. Hopefully, we will get our cards before April/May. Nothing else we can do but to keep waiting. 😥

If anyone out there has any new information please let us know.

Thanks and good luck to everyone out there.

Checking in again. Just wrapped up the paperwork for renewal of the I-764 and I-131 (which expire in 120 days) since we've heard nothing on the AOS.

On the good news side, someone who filed 8/2017 had their interview at our local office just a couple weeks ago. That's the first real data point for the long-delays crowd that we're in. If that's really the time line, then we'd get a notice around April/May just about when the EAD/AP would expire.

    Hey!

    I use: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov
You should check the phone ap too. Uscis case tracker.
Are you typing in the correct # such as MSC..........

Just an fyi somewhere mid my waiting time so a few months in which was a few months ago my case tracker just sat in error aswell. I was told its  it a  issue and just to wait ...it took about a year for my interview to get scheduled so if yours is in error dont worry its just their computer system it doesnt actually effect your case.  I was also told they have two systems and need to transfer people from one to the other so maybe thats why..im really not sure ?

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let say that I traveled outside the USA with my advance parole and had no problems coming back. You just have to go through secondary inspection but everything went well. Only brought passport and EAD.

In regards to my AOS, no news yet. I applied the first week of January from California and I haven't received any notifications.

Congrats to everyone who already got their interview date.
  18. Thanks

Yes, it will take around an hour if not more so definitely give yourself some time in between. You can also mention it to the officer that will take you through the second inspection, it might help...

    Good luck!
