Completion date is currently July but at first it was March. No word on biometrics appointment. Green card expires This September.

The estimated completion date is not accurate IMO. I have my interview in less than two weeks and my estimated completion date is September 2021 (6 months). I have no idea what they base the completion estimate on, but it's definitely not accurate. Hang in there everyone!

Received my Biometrics reuse today . Filed 29-Sep .

Question : Anyone know how long after the biometrics , interviews get scheduled ? I have an international travel coming up in next 2 weeks and I will be back in April . Wondering if I should reschedule the travel to a later date

Suggestions / inputs will be much appreciated

After my biometrics reuse letter, it took about 2.5 months for my interview to be scheduled. I got the interview notice over 40 days in advance.

But it depends on your field office - it might be quicker or it'll take more than 2 months for your interview to be scheduled (most likely scenario). I personally think that you would be fine with your upcoming trip, but of course, I understand your concerns. Did you file your application online and have access to the online tracker? They upload the documents there before sending them to you, and you can actually view a copy of the document online. Worst case - you go on your trip, they schedule your interview (you'd be able to see the date online), and you can stay because your interview falls on a date after you return OR you return earlier if the interview is before your return date.

Spreadsheet is open for everyone to edit their own. And turns out I had a bio reuse letter dated 01/13/2020 which my husband just gave me! So we are moving right along! Whew!

I tried to edit some of my info, but the spreadsheet is "view only" for me. Is there anything I need to do to be able to edit?

    Fiance has

1 credit card with Capital One

    1 credit card with Discover

1 checkings account with Wells Fargo

1 savings account with Wells Fargo

    I have

1 credit card with Bank of America

1 checkings account with Bank of America

Should we add each other as authorized users on ALL credit cards? Should we use only 1 checkings account for both of us or have a joint account (one on each bank?)

I was in a similar situation when my spouse and I got married and adjusted from an F1 visa. I would suggest adding each other to your bank accounts/credit cards, like right away, before you're married. One of each and get a debit card for the accounts. That way it appears like you trust each other by adding the other person to an account you've had for a while, rather than opening a brand new account. You can do that later on, for ROC. Do you guys have car insurance? Add the other person as an insured person under the policy. Do either one of you pay any utilities in your name? I'd call the company and ask them to add another person to the bill. It doesn't matter if it's in the maiden name (if a name change will happen in the future), all of this can be explained to USCIS. You need to get creative.

You can also include receipts of things like trips and events where both of your names are listed. Did you/your spouse get an engagement ring? Include the receipt and a photo of the ring/the day you got engaged.

We also didn't submit any notarized proof of relationship statements from friends or family, but you could do that. We submitted a lot of photos of us together at family events, with friends, etc. I added a name and brief explanation of each person in a photo, like "me", "my spouse", "my spouse's mom", and so on.

    Good luck!

Unfortunately, I got a notification that I have received an RFE. I am anxious to see what the USCIS feels is missing. Above is everything I included as my evidence. Have not received an RFE before, so this is new to me.

    California Service Center (WAC).

Yeah, that's very surprising. So sorry! You have a lot of good evidence. Fingers crossed it's an easy RFE to satisfy and after you reply, you get an approval.

it is important just because we have been told so, new normal is changing. If you are providing evidence for a 4 years of relationship, and future plans, have kids together, I do not think it should matter how we answer civic questions, or know how to write in english, chances are everyone knows that by then, plus how is it fair that 10 minutes of interview will tell them what 4-5 years of evidence didn't say. My guess is that people who fail in civic test, eventually passed it in 2-3 times, so it was more work for IOs and wastage of petitioner's money and time. You have been through so much, will you or anyone here on VJ let a civic test deter u, I believe no. plus it is just a 100 questions to remember and 80 of them we know on top of our head right now without even reading. I will not cheat and I believe whoever here in genuine will do the same.

@rosecloudIf these IOs were doing due diligence, we won't have years and years of backlog cases, they're just like every other government employee, taking their time till it is time to go home or enjoy the weekend. Let the USCIS get privatized, petitioners will be hearing about their case the next day,,,

I get that thinking about the long wait ahead of us is frustrating, but at the end of the day, US citizenship is not a right just because you submit an application, pay the fee and have a 4 year long relationship, future plans and kids. If it didn't matter how we answer the civics questions or if we can read and write in English, those wouldn't be aspects of the N-400 process.

I don't think there will be years and years of backlogs after all of this, at least I hope not! The new normal for USCIS is more likely to be things like implementing strict social distancing rules in their offices, rigorous cleaning schedules, gloves, masks, etc. rather than taking their N-400 interviews online.

I would say they'll require even more vetting at the naturalization stage. Allowing someone to become a citizen seems like much bigger deal than allowing someone to get a greencard.

I don't think there will ever be any internet interviews for naturalization. That process is too important and they need to know for sure nobody is behind the camera providing the applicant with the answers to the questions. It would be way too easy to cheat with an online interview.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Like you mentioned, I feel like online interviews give room for so many variables and opportunities for people to be and do dishonest things. Even for my AOS interview, the officer was observing me and my husband intently and watching my body language and answers. I think meeting in person is an unspoken part of the process.

Glad to see you've already applied for naturalization!

congratulations for getting the ROC part done, I think you have passed the main hurdle, now as soon as their offices open up, you will get biometrics and then interview and then oath soon, depends on that backlog though but first they got to open the 1 on 1 interviews or start doing Online Zoom Interviews

How likely is it that USCIS will do Zoom interviews for ROC and N-400? I remember from the AOS, it was pretty intense with taking my fingerprints and having me and my husband swear to tell the truth. Maybe at the ROC and N-400 stage it's no longer as serious/less prone to fraud? Not sure, but would be interesting to see them do Zoom interviews for those applications.

Can’t figure out why Lin filers with cases after mine get approved first. There appears to be no rhyme or reason for how they operate that work flow. No red flags in my case No divorce lots of proof and most cases near to my number have had some movement. It’s definitely not FIFO I would love to have the 10 year card approved before I submit my N400.  Soooo frustrating dealing after 3/4 years dealing with DHS and it’s many different branches.

I know it's frustrating, but it will happen. About a month ago, I was starting to see movement for cases around my number and many after me (LIN1990476XXX) and nothing was happening for my case since October, 2019. Then last week, I got the update too. Now most of the cases around my number have had movement, either approvals or RFEs or scheduled for interviews. It's coming, trust me! If cases around yours are moving, someone will get to yours soon. But I get it, I was getting super discouraged too seeing numbers after mine get approved.

Hey everyone, I'm a WAC filer and I just got the notification on Monday that they're mailing an RFE notice. I filed May 8th and did my biometrics on 12/3. I did do an interview for AOS, I wonder if I'll have to do one too after the RFE? Anywho we're moving forward 🙂

I don't think you'll have another interview since you had one for AOS, and as long as you really satisfy the RFE. Just make sure you really provide enough info/exactly what they want for the RFE. Good luck, you'll be okay!

  11. LIN filer here. Filed late May of last year and I just got a notification that new card is being produced (never got the case approved message). No RFE, no immigration attorney, no interview. I had an interview for my AOS, so wasn't expecting another one. So glad it only took around 11 months, even with COVID-19. Good luck everyone - they're working on your May applications!!!

I don't know what to do and I signed it . Then 10 days later I received I-797 notice of action with a receipt number . It has been almost two months now whenever I type my receipt number , it says Invalid receipt number . I phoned the 1800 at least 15 times . I even got a lawyer to contact them . All what they say we don't have an N 400 in your name at all . They got an immigration officer to call me three times . They all told me to email Lockbox.gov . I did 3 times with scanned copy of my I-797 and the signature of the employees from FedEx  and titled them #attention supervisor . They didn't even answer me .

I'm not sure if this helps at all since we're in different stages of the immigration process, but my receipt number didn't show up in the system for around 6 months. Every time I would type it, it would say invalid number. Did an actual person tell you they don't have a N400 in your name or the automated system? I know it's extremely stressful and frustrating, but you received a I-797 notice which I think you'd only get when/if they received your application? Hang in there!
