@änglahund Definitely try to book before you get the interview date, because they usually don't have appointments immediately available and its summertime...

.Also, if you don't have your medical complete about a week before your interview, they will give you a conditional fail on your interview until the medical results get to the embassy--see embassy review from @UsSwedlover and others http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Sweden&cty=&dfilter=5

We're expecting this to happen to us as well because the medical is booked so close to the interview.

yay!! That's awesome!! congrats and thank you for your update. Incredible that you got your CC in 51 days!!!  But it def seems on par with their processing times as the previous CC's from Sweden received theirs in 44 and 48 days. And it looks like you'll get an August interview date as well.  Keep us posted. Congrats again!

This is just a lighthearted post - my husband and I are thinking of getting matching "petitioner" and "beneficiary" tshirts for our POE if his interview goes well. I wonder if the officer would have a sense of humor about it? Or we might just get them to wear whenever

Awesome that they finally did that though. Felt like vaccinations just kind of floated in limbo. I'm glad that my mother saved all the vaccination cards I was given from school so I could bring them. Must be a bit of a pain to try to locate the records when you don't have copies of them.

Same as I did but Kalmar läns landstingsarkiv for barnavårdsavdelningens journaler and my kommun for all in school they were all very helpful and even asked if I wanted it in English as well... it was kind of fun to see the old school pictures attached too

And yes it's ofc located by providing personnummer

I got my vaccination records from region Skånes journalarkiv where they had records of all vaccinations I have ever had at a clinic/vårdcentral. Then I contacated the kommun where I went to gymnasiet and got vaccination records of all the vaccinations I received in school (the vaccination file moves with you from school to school, so they had everything on me from when I started school until I finished gymnasiet).

Should add that it depends on how old you are as well, very old records might not exist anymore, not sure.

Just to follow up to my own post: the translators at http://www.elt.se/ were really friendly, got the job done fast (even though they were super busy with other stuff). As others has pointed out (thanks!): just send the documents to the adress on your 221g (we sent it "rekommenderat" to get tracking) and include your case number and it will be fine - no labels needed. They are really helpful at the US Embassy in Stockholm, answered email quickly and when they received the translated documents they sent out the passports and visa envelopes the same day. My wife picked up the envelopes on Monday May 8. And on Thursday she and our son came here and we are finally united as a family again!

To everyone else waiting: I so hope you will soon be united with your loved ones! Go on - you can do it, one more day, and one more day after that.

To everyone who are still here at VisaJourney helping others: a huge thank you!

Hi @swelove - I hope you get your CC soon!

I received the email with the interview date 9 days after the (second in my case, long story) CC letter/email. With the interview set for roughly two weeks later than that (see my timeline). The interview time is of course dependent on available slots at the embassy - but the Stockholm one doesn't seem to be too bad. Like @A'n'L said 1-2 months from CC seems like the right expectation. As soon as you get the interview letter (email) you can (and should) schedule the medical exam (see the Stockholm embassy interview preparation checklist pdf here: https://travel.state.gov/interview/ note: for Sweden there is only one doctor, based in Stockholm, doing the exam).

With or without any official 6 months / 180 days rule, I would not recommend even trying it, since it conflicts core the purpose of the VWP. The purpose of the VWP is to visit but if you stay more than 6 months out of any 12 month period, 365 days or a calendar year, that would make the US your "home" country, i.e. the place where you spend most of your time and de facto are living. Any CBP officer that would understand the full picture of such travel pattern would most probably deny entry, and it would be pretty hard (impossible) to make an argument that you are just visiting and not living in the US.

    Hi,

we also contacted CBP department with this question.
    1. There is no official 6 months rule. Some visit more than 6 months, but he  needs to file taxes if he does.
    2. It is in the last 365 days not calendar year.
    3. CBP wrote me that they want to see the person more outside in the USA than inside, and that an internal rule is, that he should be outside longer as he was inside. They can approve you also if you went home for 1 week after staying 3 months, but you get a lot of screening in such cases. So, safer is, 2-3 months in USA, and more than this time outside, before you come again. We did 2-3 months / 6 months outside / 2-3months. This worked.

I see. Getting a police certificate can take a while, depending on the amount of people applying at the time. It usually takes 1-2 weeks, but can take a month. Also, since you did not apply through their website it probably takes a little longer. Additionally, sending mail from Norway to the US takes about 1-2 weeks. You'll probably get it soon, but if you feel like it's taking too long then you should call them. There's a phone number available to their service center on the link I posted. The fact that there is no fee is normal for Norway. Government stuff like that is free. I hope it works out for you!

Here's instructions on how to apply through mail:

You don't need to fill out the form "Bekreftelse på formål" (step 1) for visa purposes.
