You'll receive an extension letter that automatically extends the green card while the 751 is being processed. So, the letter + green card = all good.

i also just read that if you don't get the letter before the 90 days, you make an infopass appointment for an i-551 stamp to extend your green card for a few more months. But according to this https://my.uscis.gov/en/appointment/v2 you can't schedule an infopass appointment at your local office anymore. You must send them a message and wait for them to respond.

  2. I wonder how we will handle this while working in USA? If the greencard expires, that means you are unlawfully working and living in USA until you get it renewed. But you can't renew it as a family based conditional permanent resident without applying for the 751 which takes over a year to approve, yet you can't apply for the 751 until 90 days before your green card expires. So we will be ineligible to work for 9 months and be unlawfully living here?? This has me concerned..

  3. Ive seen many posts requiring a ton of stuff that the instructions never mention so i'm confused whether or not we need all of this documentation.

In the instructions from USCIS, https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-765instr.pdf

on page 13, it says you need these things

    • Application filled out
    • a copy of your EAD (the card i assume)
    • 2 identical passport style photos

that's all i see for filing documentation.

can someone point me to other official uscis documentation stating other required paperwork? I see plenty of posts saying we need the i765 NOA1 and NOA2 and a g1145 form but that's not listed here..

  4. Hi!!

I have a question about Driver License.

So, I've worked in US, 05/2015 until 02/2016, during that time i got my Driver license.

I am going to US with a K1 visa next 29th, and i would like to know if I can renew my DL when I arrive. If I can, would the DL just be valid for the length of my i-94 (3 months) than I have to renew again when i get my green card?

    Thank you!!

Hi all...first time posting. Just chiming in to say I'm another yet-to-hear-anything CSC December filer:

    12-17-2016 mailed

    12-21-2016 received

    01-02-2017 NOA1

    No RFE, no nothing.

My mother contacted her senator, and their office has made an enquiry on my behalf, with the following result:

"Just wanted to let you know that I spoke to USCIS and your case is with an officer.  I asked that they send the officer a note that there is congressional interest on the case.  I have it on my calendar to follow-up in about 2 weeks, but do let me know if you hear anything in the meantime.  Take care."

My dumb question: where does the information from the scans come from? How do we have access to all of those case numbers?

Thanks all for keeping me feeling way less alone during this process....

If i'm not mistaken, the scans come directly from the USCIS site.

  6. I am completing the DS-160 using the visa journey template and it has me confused.

One of the questions asks : "Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents, in the united states?"

My first instinct is to answer yes, because in order to complete a fiance visa, one of the parties in a relationship has to be in the united states as a citizen.

In the template from the site here, it says to say 'no' to this question, but I feel this is incorrect.

To anyone who has completed the ds-160 for the fiance visa and has gotten approved after the interview, should i put no or yes to this question?

162 days and nothing..... I have become so discouraged :( 4 months and 11 days without an NOA2. I just dont get it.

We were really hoping this would be the faster option vs. the marriage visa. Now I am not so sure.

From what i've seen, the marriage visa takes years. If i'm not mistaken, there are people still doing the visa process since 2014. Hang in there, you're not alone. May 15th should be the magical day when USCIS updates their chart to you will be past due. I've also seen reports of the Noa1-Noa2 process taking sometimes up to 6 months. Once the May report is out on the USCIS site, give them a call and they can investigate. Keep strong, it's a very stressful process, we're all in this together. Your SO will need you to be strong for them too, don't let them down.

I feel your pain. Ours is one of the 30 from December 14th that has not been touched. I am going a little crazy. Really tempted to to see my fiancee next month.

I feel your pains too. Dec 15 with nothing. I did call USCIS today and they said they updated the visa processing times sheet, she says they update the 15th or near this every month. She said the date of February on top is confusing to people but she assured me they are only touching November cases... But we all know this not true because many people in January are being approved.

I am so happy for you!! I have been reading your quotes for a long time, I am just after you, and seeing people after us both was getting entirely frustrating, Good Luck to you!!

And yet some of us like me are before you and still havent gotten anything. The lack of doing these cases in a logical order is maddening. Sitting here seeing people get approved in 90 days, 45 days, 50 days, even 110 days. Today is day 120 from the received day and have heard nothing while people 2 weeks after are getting notices. Grr.. And not to mention the great AkesAngel is MIA so my piece of mind knowing our progress in this process is gone. I sure look forward to his return.

Ok this is getting to be to much concerning what date needs to be in the timeline for the approval estimate. First someone tells you that it is the date that your application was received to be indicated. Then another person tells you that it is supposed to be the notice date from your NOA1. This needs to get set straight by someone who is a moderator for these forums. This confusion needs to stop!!! I am also one that is getting frustrated over all of this confusion as to what date is supposed to be entered in a persons timeline. I do understand fully though that for the stats you use your received date.

Honestly, right now it doesnt even matter what VJ says your date is supposed to get approved or RFE'd on. It's WAY off for so many people it's meaningless.

  11. You have a long line ahead of you buddy. We are at 111 days since noa1 and 117 since receipt. The visa processing times usually are updated every month on the 15th and they haven't even touched it since January 31st. Also there's still hundreds even before me. A TON of people applied before dec 26th because visa fees nearly doubled after this deadline so there was a spike in submissions causing a bottleneck.

    BTW, yay Brazil :)

PS, You can fit all of Disneyland into jut the "parking lot" for EPCOT...

It's not a slam,  but most people in Cali have NO IDEA just how BIG Disney World and assorted parks are.

I've been to California Disney a few times, Hong Kong Disney, and many many many times to Florida Disney World, as well on the Disney Cruise line too.  (Yep an addict,  and been as a guest to "33"  too.)

24,000 acres and they're always doing something new there.
