I'm so frustrated!! I can't believe this...I'm so over this whole process. Just when I thought I was done with all the scanning & uploading bullsh*t, we have to deal with this! I just wanted to be able to celebrate & now it's like we have no clue when we'll receive his passport. I mean, they made it sound like it won't take long...but there's no definite answer & that's what's killing me.

Just relax, u r almost there. The sooner you send it, the sooner you receive your passport.. you r already approved, that's what matters. U may get it even before the estimated 3-5 business days.

    Hello Nigerians,

Quick question for you all. Is there anyone that has picked up their passport and visa (after approval from the interview) from DHL Abuja? Is it better to pick up from Lagos? Kindly assist if you did/plan to or know anyone who has. Thanks. @Bos @Zaynab Fatai @Nellybee @Mrs Prestige @Abies @OlaCurrency

For immigrant visas, pick up is only done at VI, Lagos.

When you register online for ur passport pick up there's a notice there.

    Good News Y'all !!!

Wife's visa was approved at the Lagos, Nigeria Embassy this morning. :jest::jest::jest:

    They only asked 3 questions......

    1. How did you meet your husband?

    2. When did you start dating?

    3. When did you get married?

Wife said they did not even ask or check any of the documents. She suggested to show the pictures album but the lady just issued the white paper for visa collection :)

Thank you VJ members. If I had found this forum earlier, this process would have taken less than the 8 months & 10 days but still thank God.

Yaayyy!!! Congrats to wifey! I'm so happy about all the Lagos success stories.. Can hardly wait for mine next week.

Hey everyone. So bad news, hubby did not get approved and we are now in administrative processing. We filled out the required paper they emailed us. They responded that they received it and it can take up to 9 months! What do we do? We are devastated 😭

OMG! What happened? what questions were asked? What's his history? These r questions that needs to be answered so u can have an idea what may have gone wrong.

So guys today i receive this email for expedited petition soo happy!!!
Just want to know will i pay fees and submit all documents to embassy rather than nvc?
I mean they have skip nvc process? what to do next?
    Yaaa!!!
    thanks!

"The U.S. Embassy has accepted this case for expedited processing. This file will be immediately forwarded to the U.S. Embassy.

Any further questions concerning processing or the interview appointment date should be directed to the U.S. Embassy.

The U.S. Embassy may still request additional forms or fees at the time of your interview. Please be prepared to bring any missing forms and pay any required fees at the time of your interview.

Please note that it could take up to two weeks for the consular section to receive the case file once it has shipped from NVC.

    Thank you"

Congratulations. You should contact your embassy for any information because apparently everything will be processed at the embassy. The embassy will probably send you a mail.

    Good luck!

Hello everyone! Please I need quick answer here

my husband cannot filed out the DS 260 due to his health condition

i want to asked if I can do it here my self in Gambia if it will be okay with that

Of course you can. It's mostly applicants information. You can be on the phone with your husband so he can give you any information you don't have or remember.

I hope he gets well soon. Cheers!

I got my case number nd the invoice number..by phone when i can start to pay..when ll b actived

Tx so.much...can u explain me what the difference between case number nd invoice number..i thought is the same

When you have received ur welcome letter in your email, call nvc to review ur ds 261 on phone. Your fees will open up shortly after. This is if u r non pivot. If u r pivot u can pay all your fees as soon as you receive welcome letter.

So, I paid my IV fee yesterday after receiving invoice email from NVC. Everything went smooth and the payment status was showing processing. However, today I got the same invoice again in my email and when I went to the site the status says pay now. So I called NVC and one agent told me it is a browser issue and the system already rejected my fee which is why I got the second invoice. I was then told to call my bank and cancel the payment and make the IV payment again. I hung up, called again and I explained my situation but this agent told me to wait until payment is cleared before we go any further.

    Has anyone encountered this issue?

Please call your bank to Clear the payment and wait a few days for that to happen. It will appear as paid. It happened to us when we were going through nvc. Don't pay again.

    Hi VJers

i just had my interview an hour ago in Lagos embassy & I was approved.

My Interview was scheduled for 6:45am but I arrived there are 5:30am and we went in at 6:30am, did the biometrics and all.

CO: Goodmorning ma with a smile

Me: Morning with a smile as well.

    CO: is this your child?

    ME: yes, she’s our child.

CO: Did your husband file for her?

Me: No, we already applied for U.S Passport and Birth Certificate with the U.S embassy in Abuja.

    CO: Was she approved?

Me: I’m yet to hear from them.

CO: but, was she given a conditional approval?

    ME: Yes

CO: Brilliant (He checked the system and found my Baby’s details and confirmed to me)

he went back to his system and typed some things and said your visa is been approved.

He issued me with 2 white papers and said safe travels when you get your document and that of your Child and good luck in the U.S.

Thanks to everyone here who made my journey so easy, wishing you all success in your endeavors.

    Wow that was easy. Congratulations!
