Same for me, the I-751 number has information related to my address change whereas the CR189 number does not. So there is some significance for the I751 number.

We so far know that the first code is for internal use only, so even if its a glitch, the glitch is the code externally telling people the case has transferred. Considering approvals have stopped/drastically slowed down again, its safe to assume, they were transferred.

You do not even need the stamp.
Just your drivers license and your unrestricted social security card. That is the law. Read the federal for i9. The employer cannot request other id. They will run e verify with your a number that you need to inclide but no need to show documents.

Wow! On February 26, 2018 my case was received by my field office (St. Paul).  After seeing all the (apparent) movement of our ROC cases on here I decided to blow the dust off my account and check, lol. Low and behold, St. Paul has my I-751. I am cautiously optimistic that there has been some REAL movement, not just some virtual movement to show that they have been doing something. I am actually feeling a little excited at the prospect of becoming a US citizen before this year is out. Oh Heavenly day to have this journey finally come to an end!!! (Although I will probably lurk here on VJ forever...just sayin'   ).

OK, the signature block on our approval letter was from a local office near me...not anywhere near CSC. So, I think CSC is sending these (at least some of them) to local service centers to be adjudicated, as soon as they get them...or they aren't being sent to CSC at all...and being sent directly to local offices instead, despite what the NOA says. I got mine fast, so I think that may be good news, all the same.

I found a forum from 2013 that was going through the same.  They transferred cases to local field offices to off-load work from the Service Centers.  Our cases are supposed to run the same course, but hopefully being local (meaning less applications in one place) it will be quicker.

I very much doubt its a glitch, several tier 2 have said its to sort out the back log. If your approval came from Vermont, like mine, you would get zero update on your status and they would take their merry time. Its been normal to receive a letter and wait around 20 days to hear anything, then receive your GC before they even update their systems. Yours has been approved, gone to production, then mailing in a couple of days.  Only field offices could be that efficient.

I am guessing you had a transfer?  Sorry I can't keep up with all the posts since the transfers.. And CONGRATULATIONS!!!  I am SO thankful you shared this, as where the letter came from is SO important, mine was not transferred and came from Vermont. It seems not a glitch in the system..  Further more someone went for their naturalization interview today and was not asked the civics questions. The person asked if the field office was busy and they said VERY busy!  It all makes sense, I don't think this is a computer glitch at all!

Everything was going pretty okay for me and I was aiming to file for naturalization. ROC was out of my mind but this new local transfer update got my hopes up and triggered me. O Boy welcome to the world of USCIS. Well, at least they are keeping us thinking a lot and figuring out what could happen  I wonder pretty soon there will be a new health issue which will be called as USCISPhobia lollzzzzzz

Doubtful. Not enough staff, The local offices only interview a percentage of the cases sent to them. They just authorize the rest.

Ugh...I believe the quote from USCIS is indicating that you can file for N400 with pending ROC but it just won't get approved until ROC is approved first. This is what we were told by our immigration attorney last year as well.

I am sorry that you had that experience but FYI that was absolutely illegal. You could have sued, file a complaint with the DOL, or bring up the issue with your senator.
Federal law prohibits employers from conducting the Form I-9 and E-Verify processes before the employee has accepted an offer of employment. https://www.eeoc.gov/laws/practices/inquiries_citizenship.cfm
Nobody can ask you what document you have, all they can ask at job interview is if you are authorized to work in the US. The answer is either Yes or No. Period.
Once you accept the job offer, you go to HR (not your boss) and fill up forms including the I-9. It is usually a formalism and many times you just email the docs and no reason to get a weird look from anybody.
This is serious and if someone asked to see your green card before you accepted a job offer they are so breaking the law and should be denounced.

Regarding Dallas, you can't say that the officers are slow at reviewing apps.
The reason that Dallas is taking longer is probably a backlog. There are not enough officers to review as many applications that come in.

Have you looked at the Sep 2016 filers thread? lots of approvals for the last 3 weeks. They are really moving along.

Kezzie is right. That's why green card holders are encouraged to have their SS cards changed to an "unrestricted" one. That way, if the employer re-verifies (even if they're not supposed to) or if the LPR changes employer, all the employee needs to show is the unrestricted SS card and a valid state ID or DL.

My statement is 100% true.... you just did not read the bit where I said UNRESTRICTED.......
As a greencard holder you can get a unrestricted SSN card... all you need to do is when you get your greencard you go back to the SSA and request a new card with the restiction removed.....
For I-9 all you need is a UNRESTRICTED SSN and a State DL or ID..... You employer can not ask to see your greencard if you have provided 1 item from list B and 1 iteam from list C......

annie1526 reacted to skoopie in Working While Waiting for Removal of Conditions
Kezzie - I don't believe your statement is correct, at least according to my interpretation of the literature.
Employeres have a responsibility to obtain a copy of legal documentation that verifies what you fill out on the I-9, which includes 1 item from list C. If the employee provides a SSN that states there are restrictions, such as those SSA puts for ppl on temp. greencards, the employer has an obligation to following up with an employee to make sure that their legal authorization has not expired or is not restricted - hence the reason they ask for the greencard.
Note that most employers don't do this, but a lot do...just because they ask to see the green card, it doesnt mean they're violating your privacy...they're just following the directives of USCIS and the I-9 form.

To start with your employer has no legal right to ask to see your greencard... they can ask you to complete a I-9 and all you need are a State Drivers licence or ID card and a Unrestricted SSN....
    see instructions for I-9 http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf
Types of Employment Discrimination Prohibited Under the INA

    Document Abuse
    Discriminatory documentary practices related to verifying the employment eligibility of employees and the Form I-9 process are called document abuse. Document abuse occurs when employers treat individuals differently on the basis of national origin or citizenship status in the Form I-9 process. Document abuse can be broadly categorized into four types of conduct: 1) improperly requesting that employees produce more documents than are required by the Form I-9 to establish the employee’s identity and work authorization; 2) improperly requesting that employees produce a particular document, such as a “green card,” to establish identity or work eligibility;

This is a relationship issue and has nothing to do with immigration, his cheating has no impact on any immigration process.

No there is no law against cheating - what do you think it is the 1800’s?

Divorce if his cheating is unacceptable to your marriage.

Just saw you are now a citizen, this is an immigration board for immigration questions related to the immigration process not relationship questions like what should I do if my husband cheats.
